As a journalist for 20 years, you are doing naturally what we try to teach newcomers - with little success a lot of times - to tell the story, do not be the story. When you did not dance and did not participate in the game, you kept us focusing on the story instead of focusing on you while you were telling it with your brilliant questions. This is genius on so many levels. Great job, Peter.

Spoken, exhaled human verbalisation (words) are just labels that we use to associate external experiences, to then internalise in our brains.
Humanity has no label, morals are innate to each individual.
Someone who leads with humble innate morals/beliefs, will create a ‘hive mind’ conscious. The hive mind mentality is then shared amongst other members, in or out groups - psychologically.
You can be labelled a gang member but maintain certain morals/beliefs/codes that match of someone of another social class.

I was born in December 1982 in Long Beach,CA. My Father's family moved to L.A. from New Orleans in 1971, and my Mom's Family moved from San Antonio to L.A. in 1976. I've been to South Central Twice, first in 1988 and '89 then again in 2007.
In 1988, my late Aunt stayed off of 56th and Normandy, I saw it as its lowest point during that time. The Boys and Girls Club Centers were WORSE. I saw a nigga get jacked over $80 by like 12 Crips, and saw Mexican Gangs slinging Kilos.
But in 2007 when I went to meet my Father in person, it was a different story. My Uncle took me to a Bus Stop area in South Central/West Los Angeles close to the mansion where MJ died in 2009 to wait for my Father to show up, and I was told "Crips and Pirus won't mess with you if you just look normal and casual". I saw Dozens drive by heckling each other with signs thinking I was going see a throwdown, it never happened. It was more of a "Representing" Battle with each other.
I don't feel any hostility towards Crips and Bloods anymore. These NEWER Generations seem to be more levelminded and understanding to each other. Hell, in 1994, the Set that got into a fight with Dooky from Boyz In The Hood, the ABC Bloodz RESENTED Bloodshed and TURNED in and snitched on one of their own after he killed Dooky, Dooky's friend and Paralyzed his GF. They beat him down and DISOWNED him for the killing.

I'm from Germany and it's always interesting to see what's going on in the hoods like Compton, South Bronx. I love hip hop culture, the history of hip hop! I will never come to America myself because I have a criminal record. That's why I think it's cool that you make the videos and bring them closer to the world!
    Greetings 😎✌🏼

really thankful for videos like this. Both those young men were well spoken and aware of their circumstances and really helped shed a light on WHY the problems continue in their neighborhoods. It stinks to know that a lot of these dudes really do know better but becasue of their circumstances and environment they dont have much choice to do anything else. I wish we could give more opportunities to more people like this.

      Same!
The system literally can’t afford to have that happen, though; it would significantly empty jail and prison cells, leaving the many who profit off them being full broke. The system has to keep that pipeline open.
And a lot of these “activists,“ as some Compton residents said in another video of Peter’s, don’t really help matters in any purposeful sense; only going to those areas to protest when a police officer kills someone.

I'm not forcing this but I have the most important information/fact to tell you that you need to believe in. We all are sinners and we must get punished for all of our sins by spending eternity in hell, but God sent Christ, his only Son to take the penalty for all of our sins instead by dying on the cross to save us from going to hell and so we can have eternal life with Christ and God in his kingdom. On the third day after Christ died, Christ rose back from the dead. Christ ascended to heaven and he will come back for his chosen ones and take them to heaven. God bless you and have a good day😁

We put people on the moon & have machines that can be controlled be reading the state of your brain waves & we got all the free money & equipment in the world to fight wars for rich people or bail out their companies..... Capitalism as a system prioritizes opportunity for investors, if you have capital people bring you their ideas so all projects afforded development only in service of established power.
The lack of opportunity is by design because desperate people are exploitable.
This will continue till we either actually become civilized or we will kill ourselves off and this have played out within the next 100 years.

I work at a county jail, and it's actually easy to get along with a lot of these guys once they're off the streets. It's a sad thing. A lot has to do with environment, a lot has to do with their own choices, but the shitty thing is knowing they could be super successful if they put their energy into something different. Then again, a lot don't have the opportunity to do much different. It just sucks.
