I'm new to knife sharpening, and very impressed with how sharp that knife is. It glides through the entire length of that pineapple almost like it wasn't there. That knife is s-h-a-r-p! I can go through a tomato like that (haha)! Wish they'd mention the name and make of that knife. Probably out of my price range. OH! It's listed towards the end of the SHOW MORE - "Chef Hiroyuki Terada is using the Minonokuni Matsu-1573 210mm Yanagi. Super Blue Steel." Who sharpened it? Final grit? 8000? 10,000? [Edit: 9:12 - that doesn't look like the Minonkuni on the retail website. ??]
this morning at work i cut my fingernail tip (the first time it happened1 iear and a half ago i don't even feel the cut but this time i feel it a little bit) .. so in the afternoon when i steep into the kitchen i sharp them all
I loved watching this video. The skills of the sushi chef were so impressive and I also found watching it so calming. Thanks for making this great video.
I remembered that game where fruits fall from the idk where, and you gotta cut em up, i thought he was gonna throw the fruits up in the air and slice them up lol
I absolutely lost it when he made the swan. Beautiful! Chef Andy could make a ASMR or Bob Ross like relaxation channel with how he handled this. So soothing!
I'mma go with "not exactly"... BUUuuuuUUUT... Now that you mention that, the two of them taking turns between throwing the fruit and trying to "catch" it with the sword would make for a cool show... or two... or a series or something. I'm sure one could find a satisfactorily anal-retentive method for "scoring" the contest... you know, to keep everyone engaged and -milk it- ...er... generate a truly academic contest experience. ...yeah... I think I'mma go with that. ;o)
I imagined Hiro yelling something like "Hyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" while slicing a bunch of watermelons, pineapples, apples and mangos thrown to him at lightning speed, just for them to fall forming perfect origami figures 😂
Fantastico!!
Nope its just a man cuting fruit properly with a very good knife... I'll also add that to cut fruits for ten people he'd need half an hour or more... Nothing so skilly here, thats why people did not like it that much...
@@BenBlackEquinoxEngelhard I think its nothing special aswell. Im not disliking it because i dont have anger disorder, its not like this video is offending, and it's not clickbait title. But i still consider watching it, wasted time, my "fun" bar didnt rised
Hiro, my friend, g11d aftern11n!!! It's very nice of you to let chef Andy show his skills in your studio. He is a real fruit artist, isn't he? I have an idea: do a sushi challenge with chef Andy and let your viewers decide, who is better... But make no mistake: you two are excellent Master sushi chefs!!! Was that vid in real time??? 🍜🍛🍚🍱🍣🍤🥟🥡🥠🍡
I loved this video and the chef, such artistry! For awhile I was lost in the beauty of the delicacy and then it ended and I was back to real world problems. I guess I'll just watch it again🌷🎶💁🏻👏🏻
A living manifestation of the saying: The sword is from the swordsman & the horse is from the knight. Even if I had the same knife I won't be able to do the same thing.
That carrot rose looks really cool, but I don't think I'm ever gonna take the time to try it. The daikon chrysanthemum, on the other hand, might get a shot. This was all so beautiful. Great work, Chef!
No waste after these beautiful creations you have fruit salad and a veg soup with the trimmings in my case it will be all salad and soup and may be a finger to....great vid. Good luck 👍🇬🇧
Aaah, his knife. When I married 35 years ago, I was gifted a knife, one GOOD knife, that is my reliable friend. (Sorry, Japan, but it was American-made, and as tough, resilient and sharp as my home, Texas.) If you're just starting out, save up, do your research, and get one good, good knife, if nothing else. I'm old and now I have money enough that I've bought some "better knives", but they're just NOT as good. My daughters willl have to dicker over that knife when I'm gone. That apple was by far the most beautiful thing he did. A swan and the tower(?). Thank you for showing us this art!
Can’t tell you why, but I always have to smile when he finished a new model. Awesome
Wow!!! Now that’s how you definitely garnish a plate and present!!! Absolutely stunning!!! What amazing skills too. Thanks so much for this video.
Wow, a very nice cutting, I like it and I'm impressed by how such decorations can be made. Awesome!
The blade work seems so simple, but then he starts cutting and it's like watching a master painter. Awesome!
1. Those cutting skills are out of this world
2. That knife is sharp as hell
That's insane 😄
Loved this artistic cutting of fruit and vegetables👍
Great to impress friends at dinner parties🤤
