Hello, I'm Vietnamese. I just want to say that you're so creative! it makes the rice paper rolls look more colorful and tasty. Keep going! Thanks!
Thu Le so sweet of you to encourage the cook like you did. Russian in New York here, and I make Vietnamese spring rolls since last year - and loving it!
Love it!! The one I'm posting on my channel doesn't look as colorful. It's just the CHEAPEST SPRING ROLLS IN THE WORLD lolllll
Marion is a amazing, and very creative. Her preparation skills are excellent, every thing is so professionally done. They look amazing, and very tasty.
These have to be the best looking rolls I’ve seen, it’s a must try for me. 😉
This is not food, this is art. Beautiful presentation, you put some 5 star restaurants to shame. Wow.
Few tips :
1/ use a wet towel
2/ when wrapping, start at the bottom (nearest to you), roll up to the middle, then do the sides, and finish rolling
^^ great video
Wow I'm Vietnamese and this makes me want to learn to do cold rolls all over again!!! Absolutely beautiful and inspiring. Thanks for sharing ⭐⭐

Love it!! The one I'm posting on my channel doesn't look as colorful. It's just the CHEAPEST SPRING ROLLS IN THE WORLD lolllll
Very beautiful indeed!!
Why is she using a towel? You need to use a plastic cutting board Or a plate wrapped in saran wrap so it was easier and the spring wrapper doesn’t stick.
Try rolling these on the silicone baking sheets. I just had a spring rolling party this past weekend and the silicone sheets worked perfectly! No sticking and peeling, and more time for eating! :D
IS IT THE MESH SHEETS?
Great idea!
That’s a good idea, I’ll fry that. ✅
Tip: I use a plastic chopping board when i make rice paper rolls - it doesn't stick
Agree! plastic chopping board helps a lot because it does not stick to the rice paper.
Spips1962 is there a tip on keeping the roll before serving time as it becomes tough very fast. Thank you
Zee Lim If I make them just for myself, I usually eat them right away. And if I am making them for my guests, I make an asembly line, make one for each person, cut them over in halfs, and serve them as starters. Maybe you could use a thinner rice-paper? Maybe Marion has a suggestion?
Spips1962 ok thank you very much.
@@zeelim3 I usually use plastic wrap to wrap the rolls, this prevents the rice paper contacts with air and becomes hard. You can use any other wraps than the plastic ones, like you can put these rolls in your tubberwares, with parchment papers between rolls so that they don't stick together.
I’m Vietnamese and I have never seen anyone use a tea towel before. I’ve been using an plate my whole life and it has never broke. Maybe it’s the brand of rice paper you use because there are different types. There ones for eating raw, ones that uses hot water, and ones that use cold water. In Vietnam sometimes we don’t even dip it in water and use the remaining water from our freshly wash vegetable as there also different thickness in rice paper rolls. Love the creatively in your video though 😋🌸.
Wow! I'm Vietnamese but never seen such an art with cold rolls. Thanks for your sharing 🌻
Nice idea on the egg and the flower! Also spring rolls are regional, the Central Vietnam version uses thinly sliced boiled pork belly, lettuce, carrots, cucumber, pineapple, pickled shrimps, and the rolls are dipped in fish sauce. The northern version has thinly sliced layers of stuffing including egg, boiled pork, veggies and similar herbs. I think the southern version dips the rolls in peanut sauce similar to the one you make, but the other regions dip them in sour sweet fish sauce!
There are also many types of vietnamese spring rolls with different fillings
It's absolutely an elevated version of traditional Vietnamese rolls. Stunning and tasty. I'm impressed.
Omg i have never seen spring rolls that pretty. Thank you so much Marion!!
So so beautiful. They are going in to the menu for my wedding.
Wow!
Can I come? I just want to eat these rolls. Congrats!
congratulations!!!
Rach Kate you’re adorable 😭
@@exinmate 🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😋😋😋
If I make these, I’ll just stare at them and starve!! 🤣
Lol they're too pretty to eat
My sentiments egg-xactly
..lol..
So true😅
this is the cutest comment ever.
"i like to make mine a little spicy" - you speak to my lil Indian heart!
Instead of placing soaked rice paper onto tea towel, should place it onto a flat porcelain plate, having the same size of the rice paper. That will come off easily as you rolling it. Should wetting rice paper several plate at the same time, ( one rice paper on one plate ) . Then it will become playable in a short time, by the time you finished rolling once. This will making the process faster. Hope that helpful for you.
THIS WAS SO SATISFYING TO WATCH!!!
Rolls were delicious keep up the good work.

OMG! you have elevated this Vietnamese dish to 5 notches.
Look so appetite and so pretty.
Excellent presentation!
you're so gifted!
Perfect for a summer lunch or light dinner. Thank you Marion!
Never seen someone put so much creativity in this dish. Amazing!
Wow, after making cold rolls for almost 20 years, you've elevated my cold rolls! Yours are amazing! Thank you!
I like using the water from the shrimps / pork belly that I cook in for the dipping sauce. It adds some savory taste while getting the right consistency
I love how the egg roll with little flowers came out- so pretty!
You have the number 1 culinary channel on the Planet! Period! Thank you for crafting the perfect recipes and perfect way of explaining them! Truly appreciated.
They are absolutely amazing! So beautifully crafted! Thank you so much Marion!
That was an awesome lesson in cooking artistry that is actually so simple with practice. Thank you!
I love those teeny tiny flowers! So very pretty. Just use cold water and a stoneware/porcelain plate or a wood or plastic cutting board, it won't stick. There was one brand of rice paper I encountered recently that was really thick and took more to become pliable, but that's the first time in like almost 50 years of life that I came across that. LOL
Those really are the prettiest Vietnamese rice paper rolls I have ever seen! The yellow rolls are particularly eye catching. 🤩
I'm Vietnamese and i love the way you cook Vietnamese food! It's so beautyfull!!!
No need for a tea towel. As long as the rice paper isn't too wet (if your paper is too wet it will soften too quickly = stickiness) it won't stick to a regular flat plate. Done it that way my whole life. Never had an issue!
1. Use luke warm water
2. Lightly dip the rice paper in the water. do not soak ( I use a bowl and round rice paper. i dip half of the paper in the bowl and quickly rotate the paper until all wet)
3. Shake off any excess water
4. Put on a plate, stack on ingredients and roll!
The paper still may seem hard but by the time you finish putting on all your ingredients the paper will soften nicely and it's ready to roll!
Or use a paper towel and wipe water over.
I just stroke the rice paper with my wet hand so it would only be damp on one side.
I’m a big fan of yours! Really appreciate your instructions. Your voice is also very soothing /beautiful to listen to. ขอบคุณมากนะคะ
Hello, I'm Vietnamese and I'm so impressed with the art version of paper rolls. You did a great job, thanks for sharing and inspiring.

Wow. This, Marion, is one of your most beautiful videos yet. Enjoyed every bit of it. Congratulations.... I am eating through the screen :)
These are the most beautiful summer rolls that I've ever seen! 😍💖💖💖 So creative! 👏👏👏
Absolutely fantastic and beautiful. I can't wait to try this with my daughter's. They always enjoy cooking with their dad and this looks amazing!! Thank you.

Rushing to come home to make this. Craving vietnamese rolls since this morning
Absolutely love your videos! So much inspiration to tackle intimidating Asian recipes! 😋
greetings from Canada! I just want to say how pretty and neat you made those look! effortless really! I tried this summer roll for the first time last week, I had never tried vietnamese before, and it was refreshing (but my rolls were no where near as tidied up as yours lol!) tysm for this!
These are my favorites! You read my mind, today I was thinking of how you make it.. I actually just came from having them.. thank you Marion!
I don’t think I could eat them. They’re too pretty to eat. They’re just like piece of art ❤️❤️
These are the most gorgeous springrolls ive ever seen! Love it and can't wait to try!!
Wow just beautiful. Love all the bright colors and the edible flowers. This video is by far my fav.
I like to add a 1 tsp of sesame oil in my peanut sauce.
These look great! The tea towel should be damp so it doesn't stick.
How do you think a silicone baking mat would work? Peeling off that towel looked like a lot of work and seemed to have potential for the roll ripping apart.
@@jandipeach the thing about using a damp cloth is that when you first put down the rice paper it remains a bit stiff. The dampness help it to soften but keeps water from pooling so it isn't too wet. Otherwise you can't work with it, it just tears and falls apart. I learned this from Viet street food vendors.
@@jandipeach It should work fine on a silicone backing mat. When I make these types of rolls, I simply wet the rice paper in water (room temp), place it on my wooden cutting board and wipe away the excess water with my hand (like a squeegee). Start piling on your fillings and when you're ready to roll, the sheets should be perfectly softened. The excess moisture locked under the rice paper and the cutting board will do the trick. No need for a towel.
@@beepbapboop126 if you use a damp towel there is no need to wipe away excess water. One less step to do.
@@mintysingularity takes the same amount of time to wipe away excess water than to dampen a towel, after some time you may even need to wring out excess water from the towel but to each their own, do what works best for you.
I make sure to add a dash of water to the plate when rolling the spring rolls. A tip I learned from a Vietnamese RUclipsr.
So.. I did a trial run of these little bad boys.. and omg.. that dipping sauce is just the best! Cannot wait for my edible flowers to arrive and the 21st birthday cuisine begins.. 🥰
TIP: use a damp tea towel instead of a dry one.
Or apply little oil on chopping board
Mmmm tea towel flavoured rice rolls
" gỏi cuốn" is Vietnamese food. I like it. Thank you made it look beautiful
Truly one of the best cooking channels, thx Marion
from vietnam, U r so amazing, U made a one of street food became luxury. Thanks so much.
Next time u try rolling, place it under a flat cutboard instead. It will not break your rolls 'cause these rice paper are wet. A lot quicker!
they r looking like art pieces 😍 wow!! Amazing!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍
These are great. What a terrific way to inspire me to make these and get my family excited again. love the egg addition, but I can't wait to try the spicy prawns.
I'm so shy to eat this rolls. Beautiful presentation. Lots of love, effort and nice ingredients. Looks stunning!
Wow...I thought you gonna teach us how to make an art on a spring roll...that flower one is amazing 😱😍
These look so beautiful! I love your videos your recipes are awesome ❤️

Well damn. I'm viet and I've never had these beauties before! Thank you Marion!! Loveeeeeee your videos and your interpretation of the vietnamese cuisine
Thank you so much! :-) I love Vietnam and Vietnamese food so much. We don't have many Vietnamese restaurants here in Bangkok, so I end up making it myself at home quite a lot :-)
I get soooooo excited when I see you've posted another video!! I've made so many of your recipes and they've all been extraordinary! Can't wait to try this one too :)

You are epic Marion....Lots of love from India
I have never seen Vietnamese rolls looking pretty as your. Great vid :-)
Omg I love it. So creative! So making these!!!
Those look awesome I’ve only ever made those once it was so much fun nothin like the beautiful rolls you made just more traditional
Can you please make a video on types of soy sauce u use? Like which brands you recommend
the tips for easier to roll those rice paper (or Banh Trang in Vietnamese) is just to lightly brush them with a little bit of water, they'll get soften and easy to roll anyway. you dont need wet them all the way throught, because this may also cause them easy to break or tear apart
And set them on a damp tea towel while you assemble them, so it won't stick.
@@mintysingularity we dont do it here, the towel only make the matter worse. can u see how sticky it is in the video. not everyone like Marion can handle that, u know
@@jeremydang7708 that's why I said use a damp tea towel. Marion's is dry, that's why it is sticking. I learned this from Viet street food vendors.
@@mintysingularity if u cant tell from my name, Im a Vietnamese myself. of course I know how to do it. the towel is only an option, its not nessesary. And you're wrong, the nature of Banh Trang is dry, and it can be break a part when its dry. it gets sticky because its too wet not dry.
@@jeremydang7708 you misunderstand. Her tea towel is dry, that I why it was sticking.
Looks so good!! Those flowers and the prawns did it for me!
Amazing!! I have never been one to watch cooking videos but you are the only one I enjoy watching!! We have the same taste for food
When I saw the shrimps 🍤 I wanted to cry 😭 😢 cuz I am allergic to them, but love them so much ❤️
Hi Ulviyya, please say: "I love you shrimps allergie." ... and start eating them again ... start with VERY SMALL quantities to build up a new habit ...
Later you will be proud of you ;-)
Any white firm fish will do, as will any mild seafood you might be able to eat, depending on how allergic you are.
I’ve done the same treatment with well-pressed tofu and hearts of palm.
Wow, never seen this before in VN, but they look amazing 😋
Now this is the level at which cooking is art.
These are so beautiful, you’re amazing by making food that I am so used to become fancy
