      pretty sure homie hasn't tuned this setup yet. I don't remember any of my builds running perfectly on *INITIAL* startup.

    I've heard a very rough, ball park figure of 4% for every full point increase.
    For example, going from 9:1, to 10:1 = ~+4% HP/Tq.
    If your engine made 180HP at 9:1 it might make ~187.2HP at 10:1 assuming that's all you change. Should also see a slight increase in mpg.
    Disclaimer: Your results may vary.

    If this engine is still in working condition today, I will be INCREDIBLY surprised.
    Your timing is a little late, it's running to rich and your cams are probably just a tad bit to aggressive for street use, although that last one is more of an opinion I must admit.
    You can clearly hear it struggling to rev up and it sounds almost like it is misfiring, could also be that the timing is to early, but the knock sensor would most likely have cut the engine off if that were the case.
    If you removed the knock sensor however, you deserve a firm kick in the rear end.

    • @Audiman0aha
      @Audiman0aha 8 лет назад +1

      +hectorae86 Is he running a stand alone ECU? No knock sensor on those NA 16v's stock. Only the supercharged 4a's came with them. But yes I say your right on everything else. :)

    • @theoriginalafroninja
      @theoriginalafroninja 8 лет назад

      well it takes quite a lot to get 200hp out of a 4ag. Visit Bill sherwood's page for details but basically you'll need 83mm bore pistons in 11.5:1 Cr, 300+ dur camshafts and an ass load of head work. It'd be cheaper to just do a BEAMS swap with headers, trumpets, and a tune.

    Since running the carbs what do you have to do different with the setup? New ECU, fuel map, etc??

    • @sunshinevargosain8911
      @sunshinevargosain8911 9 лет назад +4

      NovackN
      Uhhhhhhhhh he's not running carbs, if he were running carbs he wouldnt be running an ECU. also if he were running carbs you most certainly wouldn't see a fuel rail for fuel injection or fuel injector wiring harness. He's just running an "ITB" aka Individual Throttle Body. As for new ECU/Fuelmap you cant remap a 1st gen 4AGE ecu, also 1st Gen 4AGE ecus are garbage. He would most likley be running an aftermarket ECU though you cant see anything in the video that would show that.

    hi there! how is the CR of your engine bro?
    I have a MR2 aw11 and I want to buy forged pistons.

    • @sunshinevargosain8911
      @sunshinevargosain8911 9 лет назад +1

      Andres Rojas Forged pistons alone are not going to give you a power increase unless youre moving to higher compression pistons. Are you NA or FI? the FI engine came with forged pistons and conrods stock good for alot more boost than they came stock. If youre building this NA id recomend your first investment for more power is new cams. get some 260 or larger cams in there.

    You realize the radiator needs to be sealed for coolant flow, and like work out the air bubbles

      The thing is though, no you don't.

    • @Sorrwless
      @Sorrwless 10 лет назад

      Not at all , it help raising the boiling point and this also means getting your engine faster at working temp , but your waterpump is pumping coolent all the way , closed or open---

    • @Sorrwless
      @Sorrwless 10 лет назад

      Remember , your waterpump keeps pumping none stop , but the thermostat stops the flow to the radiator , thus depends on the thermostat working temp ( opening temp ) Toyota varies from 82 - 93 , depends what model , engine and so on . So with or without the cap ,flow will start towards the radiator as soon as the thermostat starts to open . The cap only seals of the cooling system where you fill up the system, other models do have bleeding spots like an Avanza . ( Diagnostic tech Toyota ) But correct , it needs to be opened to get out all the air even when hot, if thermostat was not fitted correctly air might have been stuck behing the thermostat so heat up till the flow is going ...
