I really like the Raggedy Anne costume (1975). Some people will find it creepy, and some will find it cute. It's adorable, imo. What you do with the makeup really makes the difference.

The original purpose of Halloween was to scare away the spirits that come through the barrier between the worlds when its at its weakest, so children would be dressed up in costumes where the main feature was the scary mask that was supposed to scare the spirits back to their own realm and keep them from settling in our realm. This is also where the tradition of carving the pumpkins for Halloween origins from.

Random Names Now the trends part, will never happen. Because even when people were dressing up more "scary" and having more fear on Halloween, there was a trend. Hence the scary Minnie mouse like costume, or the big masks. That was the trend of that time. There's always going to be at least one trend, it's just now it's multiple trends overlapping. And I think people are making Halloween less scary, because of less thought put into it. Alot of people say they have to work on Halloween, so that's that too.
