  • Hardest Difficulty - Give Me God of War GMGOW
This is a detailed walkthrough of what will likely be one of the greatest games of all time, God of War Ragnarok, on the Playstation 5.
A lot of the fat will be trimmed out of the gameplay, but I will be showcasing as much of the lore and story as I can.

Not she, they, but i appreciate the shoutout. Im glad you like these.
I just like sharing information that otherwise people might never know the context for.
The musical bowl alter things are cool. And i dont think they have a basis in mythology. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything about it for norse myth.
That's a chunky dog. Hunting hound of some sort. Got no clue of what species.
Skíðblaðnir, Freyr's boat is another gift from Brokk and Eitri (Sindri). It was gifted alongside Mjolnir (thor's hammer), Gungnir (Odin's spear that returns to his hand and never misses), a golden boar that walks on air (also given to freyr), and Draupnir (the ring that duplicates itself). The boat can magically fold like paper to fit inside a pocket or bag, can fit about 20 men (id say Gow's might be a bit smaller than the myth boat), can catch any wind so you can always control where you're going and never be blown off course, and can well fly obviously. There's a similar boat that freya (or frigg?) owns that carries dead people to her own version of valhalla called Folkvangr in vanaheim.
Thus far, you have seen all of the gifts of Eitri, though Gungnir has not been seen in its true form (its Odin's walking stick)
That is infact a wyvern if you go by definitions. Wyverns are dragons but are distinct by having 2 back legs and no front legs but using their wings as legs. This would be in contrast to another type of dragon such as a Lindwyrm, which has no wings or back legs, only front legs.
Turtles with plants on their backs. Very cute. Not really much to say here, turtles with plants on their backs or even entire islands are not uncommon in folklore and mythology around the world as well as fantasy books, most famously Terry Pratchett's Discworld has a giant turtle that holds the entire world on its back. As far as norse myths or icelandic sagas with plant turtles, I'm not sure if there are any, though it does remind me that chaurli, freya's giant turtle house is out there still. You should go visit it.
    Giants were famous for drinking...alot.
There's a story in the prose edda where the Æsir are relaxing with a friendly sea jotun. Thor drank so much that the jotun said if thor and odin's party wanted to stay, they would need a vessel to fill for just thor so he wouldn't run out. Thor and Týr go on a quest to see Týr's father (another sea jotun named Hymir) who had a cauldron large enough. Shenanigans ensued as Thor was challenged by Hymir to break an indestructible cup to prove himself (and also because Hymir just really hated Thor). Thor chucked the cup at Hymir's head by accident (or at the advice of Týr's mother?), which caused both the cup and Hymir's skull to shatter, thus proving himself worthy of the cauldron. Týr didn't seem too bothered by Thor killing his dad.
Anyways yeah, faye probably drank. With Thor? Not entirely unlikely; despite how much the Æsir and Jotun hated each other, they also often intermingled and held parties.
I thought atreus might have been talking about Thrud as well, but looking back, he is probably hinting at Angrboda.
That "im fine" from atreus talking about liking someone sounded so pained. Well done to Sunny Soljic (Atreus' VA) and all the other voices in this game. They have actual character and emotion that doesn't feel forced or out of place (usually, there are some parts in this that have some cringy dialog).
That sounds about right. Thor drinks a lot.
Infinite barrel of beer would absolutely fit in norse myth, and if anyone owned it, it would be Thor or one of the Jotun.
Also sounds about right. Ancient norse culture was terrible on children, and it would have been a thousand times worse for actual gods.
Names of dragons are always so cool. Im quite fond of over the top names like The Corpse Eater for monsters.
You'll have to come back to the hunter's lair after beating a centaur huntress who appears a few times through the area.
The stuff that comes out of the pond is actually quite decent but berserker armor is also quite good. Dragon armor is good once you beat all three dragons in the area.
I told you so. It's a very fun side section and it's enormous. It was definitely one of my favorite parts of my playthrough.

Oh almost forgot: the Kvasir poem An Organization: in the future is the game "The Order: 1886". Had to look it up. The synopsis of the game makes it sound very weird.
