I'd give up my prize for talking for 20 minutes on how to clean windows. Time is money, I think he even says this, yet his videos or something else to watch lengthwise versus beneficial information. LOL
Thank you! I'm 61 and have done my own maintenance, repairs, and cleaning on my cars all these years. I've never been happy with my window cleaning outcome, and have tried everything along the way. No matter what I've tried - they're still dirty or streaky. I watched this video 2 months ago, and did the water/alcohol/(generic) magic eraser step on all our cars that day (I did not do the spray wax step). For just about the first time ever, they all came out perfectly, beautifully clean! And, 2 months later, I would normally have some interior windshield "fog" by now. But, this time, I don't!!! Even in our 3 month old new car that is out-gassing all sorts of things! I am very happy that I found your video and finally, finally, have a process to actually get windows clean, and have them stay clean. Thank you for sharing this information! Rick
Never thought I'd sit and watch a video almost 19 minutes long on cleaning car windows! You are the Detail Master Champion and if I didn't live in central Mexico, I'd get my car to you in a heartbeat! Even the smallest of details don't get away from you! Totally impressive!
1. Spray alcohol/water mix. 2. Scrub with Magic Eraser. 3. Spray again alcohol/water. 4. Wipe clean with glass rag. Works every time. I never use “glass cleaner”.
Man, your detailing videos are fantastic. I'm not a pro but I do like a clean car. I just purchased a 2015 528i and am looking forward to keeping it perma-clean. Thanks for the vids.
My best advice for anyone watching now is dont use microfiber towels on glass, just use regular old shop towels or terry cloth. You can also buy special blue towels made for glass and mirrors called surgical huck (I think), those work the best by far. I have some that I got from a window cleaning company I worked for years ago and they still work amazingly.
Thank you. I thought I was the only one that got frustrated with the windows. So I stop and got some windex forget about it. After I sprayed the window it got worse. I'm glad I found your channel.
North and south for outside windows. West to east on the interior windows. The way our eyes work, I find this to be the best. Vinegar cuts build up on Windows really well. Thank me later. 15 years of experience and a lot of peers beyond my years has shaped me in all the tricks and tips.
Awesome video young man...I have a new to me Porsche 997 Twin Turbo that I like to keep meticulous but I have struggled to keep the windows from smearing no matter what product I use...your video was a perfect description of my problem and an easy (I don't want to steam my windows every time I clean them) solution.
U should honestly sell cars or teach seminars. Your a great presenter and i didn't fall asleep and i finished the whole video. You have a voice and presentation that I actually want to listen and learn. Anyways videos are informative and work.. Ur awesome ..
Great video thanks mate. That makes perfect sense to prep the window, then detail it. As we do with paint. I will be putting your method to the test tomorrow, and I can already tell that I will be pleasantly relieved at the results. Windows can be a nightmare at the best of times. Cheers bud. 🖒
Love this technique, started doing it to my Windows, they were very dirty, covered in water spots, this makes it so much easier, and the clarity is insane
Whoa you're from Middle Tennessee? Awesome I'm wanting to start my own car detailing business myself! I live in the Antioch area. Thanks, man for your videos you're very knowledgable.
Hi Luke. Weekend warrior here. Found your channel and caught this video. Followed your steps and have to say how impressed I am with the results. The 50/50 mix alone made my windows than they ever had! Thanks for your informative videos. Keep up the great work.
Love it Bro, you Killed it.... You've definitely said the most important techniques in auto detailing.... I WANT TO KNOW EVERY PROCESS IN USING THE VX5000 STEAMER, from connecting hose to power supply to accessories, I mean absolutely everything when it comes to working with the VX5000 ... FROM THE VERY BEGINNING TO THE VERY END, Once AGAIN you are THE FATHER OF AUTO DETAILING PERFECTION.....Kill it once more my Broher!!!!!!
If you were to dedicate a certain microfiber towel to interior windows, could you use it multiple times / on multiple vehicles before washing it? Or should each job get a fresh one just like everything else.
This video is very informative. I started detailing in 2021 and I hate windows because I struggle with them 🙄 this video gave me some key tips on how to be better. Thank you!
Luke , awesome vid bro. A lot of awesome tips. I will be trying some tomorrow . My drivers window just got streaky on the outside. Gonna hit it with the 50/50 and then meguiars spray wayx awesome tip Thanks Luke.
My tips for the glass...use a waffle weave drying towel for the final wipe virtually no lint is left on glass. Also always finish one side of the glass with vertical swipes, then horizontally on the other, makes it easy to see what side any streaks are on. Hope this helps someone.
@@albertcarr574 hi, Albert. One little thing I omitted in my tip... if you position your car facing the sun when its lower in sky, It shows up every piece of dust, mark/streak on the glass, that otherwise appeared perfectly clean when the sun was higher.👍
Great video. Quick question. Can you use any type of spray wax such as Miguiars quik wax or do you strictly recommend the synthetic express spray wax you used in the video. Thankyou
My God! Can you imagine him if he’s drinking? LOL, sorry, not being mean, but you are wound up! And now I’m cleaning my truck windows following your advice... FYI, I subbed to your channel.
i detail for a large dealership, i do 500 plus cars a year, so a trick i found for streak free windows is after you use window cleaner , grab a clean rag and a bottle of say Meguire's quick detailer or some body icing, and spray on your windows, wipe with the clean rag, .. sounds crazy, try it
Not only detailing advice but also parenting advice with putting alcohol in the ear when there's water. Lol totally forgot my mom would do that with me when I was a little guy. Lol thanks again Luke
Something my mom did to clean our ears when we were little was once a week or two weeks. She would take a cap full of peroxide and set it in our ear for about 30 seconds then clean with qtip. Never hurt my ears and I'm 37 now.
Thank you. You do a great job explaining everything in detail. Also, you remind me of the older brother in the 'Goldberg' show. That even longer talks are entertaining cause of it.
Great video, very informative. Is the 50/50 solution and magic eraser combo safe to use on windows that are tinted on the inside and ceramic coated on the outside?
Any good ideas on how to buff out a chemical from a windshield? I used a clay bar to start a clean & I may have stained it? Was using soapy water as well. Not sure if they played a roll.
Great video! I tried the alcohol solution with Magic Erasers on my cars this weekend and the glass looks perfect! I'm wondering if there's anywhere I can buy that Express Wax in a smaller bottle rather than a gallon jug. I've only got 2 cars to do and it's hard to justify spending $30 for something that's going to sit around for a long time. Maybe there's something comparable?
Thanks for lots of tips you shared. This is my first time watching your video and I like that you went to details on how to clean the interior windows of the car which I was searching for.
Luke, excellent video. It is a very efficient method by the looks of things. I only have one question regarding the use of D156 on interior glass, does it cause any fogging / visibility issues?
2 drops of 91% directly on magic eraser followed by 3 drops of water, squeeze out excess. The dryer the eraser the less water streaks, the less wiping to dry! Bonus, no over spray on paint or plastic. Do big windows in 4 sections, much less frustrating!
I do in most cases, but I always say here that you need to be careful and let common sense lead. I’ve never had any issues however I’m also extremely careful
I start with steam cleaning the glass (only in the warm season, of course). Then I use windshield washer fluid (works on the outside with your wipers, right?). Use one colour of microfibre cloth for glass. Wash them with a detergent isn't going to break down the fibres as quickly. I use Mela Power from Melaleuca which has no harsh chemicals.
Great content. Thank you Luke. Btw: regarding washing microfiber towels: it’s very important to wash them using straight fabric detergents only. Do not use the type with fabric softeners or conditioners. The softeners bond to the microfiber and the fibers won’t absorb water as well or fluff. They get gunned up. Just an FYI- all the best! Herb
I love super clean 5:1 for heavy cleaning and Meguiars APC 10:1 for lighter cleaning. I’ll hook up a link below to my website to help go into detail about this a little more, I think it’ll help you: www.detailingjunk.com/all-purpose-cleaners
Side windows are easy. It's the front windshield that's a challenge. Great info on why windows are a problem with condensation build up and all. I don't spray the windshield to avoid overspray on the dash. Would you suggest spraying the cleaner on a magic eraser before wiping the window?
Wilson, Great video on car glass cleaning! I have one question... Can you use the magic erasure (melamine sponge) on side view mirrors? I have a Toyota Tacoma truck.
Can someone give this man a prize for spending 20 minutes of his time to clean one window for us.
And god knows how many hours for filming and editing etc
I'd give up my prize for talking for 20 minutes on how to clean windows. Time is money, I think he even says this, yet his videos or something else to watch lengthwise versus beneficial information. LOL
It's suppose to be educational so he's explaining things in detail.

Thank you William. What type of spray do you use? I'd like to make my own.
This 100%. use 1 towel for cleaning and another one for buffing. Easiest way to get a crystal clear result. People love over complicating things
Hey Luke. You have one seriously great channel to help a regular like me keep my car looking good. Thanks man!

I’ve had the express spray wax for a long time. It’s the first time I’ve used it tonight. It works!! Thanks, Luke!!
Drives me nuts when I can't get my windows perfect.
Amen!!!
Me too. I would be pissed cause windex would not leave it crystal clear. Now I know why
Latin Ace yea but no one uses windex on car glass tbh
I literally can’t because of the sun even at 7pm sunset it still evaporates.
Edgar H252 park in the shade and put on ac and defog it cools the glass and works wonders
