Late as hell but that's no contest. Death casually tanks weapons that destroy planets. He's so far above Kratos when it comes to tiering. Even at his weakest, Death kills a Concept that ends other Concepts and is ending all of existence. That's so much above killing a few Gods. Death would rip through him in a nanosecond.
For the longest time, I thought that by the time Death had finished his journey, War was already fighting Abandon. I thought Darksiders 2 had just started earlier than Darksiders one. A bit unrelated, I know... but it's still something I want to mention since it relates mostly to Death since he's who I think of when I thimk of Darksiders and/or the Four Horsemen.
That's what happens. By the time Death throws himself in the Well of Souls War has slain the destroyer and eventually the 7th seal has been broken by Uriel reviving both War and Death and calling the horseman to arms.
There is a scene u guys miss in game when u go to earth and get 1 part of the staff go back to the angel and speak to him there is a interesting mini chat
Great video as always 14:58 I think it's already hinted that it's very close to the end of darksiders 1 at the end of the game where lilith goes to talk to lucifer, he mentions that the end war is upon us, considering the fact that the destroyer kept the seventh seal to himself at all times, and lucifer was aware of it, if he knows that the apocalypse is near, he should have known that the seal is broken, Either he brought humanity back to life at the apocalypse or 5-10 years before it
It was said by the Dev, that time between Death resurrection and his sacrifice isn't specified, yet considering all clues we can find through game, it's very likely that the time you mentioned could be very probably, as i would said about 10 years before DS1. Yet as i mentioned, exact time was not specified
Yeah, I think the end of Darksiders 2 is close to the end of Darksiders 1 as well. By the end of Darksiders 1 humanity is still wiped out after Death supposedly resurrects them. And the Seventh Seal resurrects Death, so the ending of Darksiders 2 is definitely before the ending of Darksiders 1. I assume they are close together because the resurrection of 7+ billion humans likely takes A LOT of time. Then again maybe they weren't resurrected on Earth, maybe they were given another world.
It may explain how he does seem to have had somekind of past experience with her in some manner; she may have oversaw the immediate generation spawned from Abby. It would explain why he gets clearly agitated when she calls herself his mother, I definitely see a story how the demon may have tried to convince the first Nephs of this so they may follow her or Hell at large.
I'm loving these videos guys, keep up the good work! Just one little thing, one of you talks quite quickly and it can be hard to hear everything said, so I have to rewind the video every so often to listen more closely. So I'd just like to suggest that you try to pace yourself more when talking? I love the way you guys describe things and the language you use
I hope that, after Darksiders Genesis, there will be a fifth game that ties up the franchise, allowing you to play as any of the Horsemen, either being able to change between them on the go or giving each of them their own campaign, in which after beating all four leads into a final battle, the epic fight this has all been leading to. Choose your Horseman, and the other three will fight alongside you. Just a thought.
Love the video but I think you should discuss some things in little more detail. Death's relationship with his brothers and sister, how War suggested a wager during their search for mounts, etc. Just a thought for future content, keep up the great work :)
I love this character, by far the coolest in the series, the big brother type, he would damn anything else only to save his little brother, I related so much to him when playing the game, best in the series by far, was kinda disappointed by Darksiders 3 but we can't have everything, also the ways they're taking to represent Strife is worrying, see Darksiders Genesis, I was like "Oh no.. facepalms" I hope it changes in the coming installations, I was really excited to see how they'll adapt him to the games specially the relationship between him and his brothers, specifically Death, as I read in the comics that it's kind of on edge, and Strife seemed, contrary to what is representated in Genesis, kind of ruthless in his own right, I hope they can pull that off in the next games.
I never got the impression that Death died at the end of his game. Sure, he was willing to sacrifice himself. Sure he throws himself into the Well of Souls. But the games are confirmed to run in tandem. If you put progress bars that kept track of Death’s adventure from beginning to end and War’s adventure from beginning to end, they would both reach the end at the exact same time. Which means it’s entirely possible that Death wasn’t in the Well of Souls long enough to die, because immediately after jumping in he is summoned by War breaking the 7th seal. Heck, we don’t even know that it revives Fury’s horse because we see them as differently colored comets, not as riders on horseback.
Dev's have confirmed that there is a bit of time between the end of DS2 and the end of DS1, so all indications, especially considering the ending dialogue from DS2, are that Death died. On a brighter side, Dev's have also confirmed that the horses will be revived with their Nephilim, woot! Rampage lives!
I'd love to see a fight between Death and Deadpool. Although, considering Deadpool's love for Lady Death, I can only imagine what inappropriate things DP would do....
Deadpool is an immortal superhuman though. Death is a god, stronger actually. It'd be amusing for the five seconds it would last, then Deadpool would be in pieces. Alive but in so many shards even he would take some time recovering.
DP "Oh, oh! that was HOT! OH that was SO hot! I especially loved the little dead things you pulled out of your ass. How about you take of that mask of yours and show me your real face huh?" Death: "how about I take off your mouth instead?" DP: "oh no, that would be a bad idea, it would ruin the whole movie if I couldn't talk." Death: "bringing things to ruin is what I do best." DP: "oh... okay then."
Another thing (I've only just thought about) when they do the 5th game and hopefully it will be all 4 horsemen, will we see death without his mask? Since he gave to the crowfather
Maybe Lilith when making absalom she used her demon magic to gift her first Nephilim with a kind of fail safe so when he is about to die corruption sprang forth to keep her child alive
We actually did one on Fury already, here's the link: ruclips.net/video/5fnD7dBrqvs/видео.html But we're gonna hold off on War (and of course Strife) until after Genesis.
Hey just a thought but is there any connections between the pauldron shoulder armor you get from the shaman maker in Darksiders 2 and the suspiciously close looking shoulder armor of War.
Let me postulate a what if to you that you can make a video on, what Would happen if Dante And Virgil (dmc 5 versions) were suddenly transported to the darksiders universe in an attempt to escape their version of hell?, How Would the Various Factions react?, How Would the horsemen react And reconcile their existence?, (And just as a crack part of this question) Who do you think D and V Would fall for?

Whats the actual endgame of the horsemen? I know they keep the balance at the moment and when the seven seals are broken, theyll ride to earth for the end war...but to do what? There will be no need for balance then so what are they actually gonna do...
When the horsemen ride in the apocalyps they will be let loose to do as they please. At least that's how we understood it. In theory that seemed to be the idea. But in practice... well Obviously not going down that way. :P
@@TrueMastersandMorons that would make a sick game but i like the idea of them hunting down the council as a group and then maybe taking the fight to God and Lucifer, just for the sake of a fight. But they seemed to actually believe in balance, not just faking it for the council's power, so maybe they'll take on all sides then rule as a new council, one for true balance
So eldest of his race is not canon?,cause i don't remeber seeing it inside the 2nd game, aside from absalom. To me eldest was War then came Death then Fury then Strife. I
So Death is the oldest horsemen no questions asked Heck he's so old that the fact that there is a vault full of WMD's is information that only he has (The grand abominations). Death is one of the first born Nephilim with him and Absolom being "of the first born" he also holds the title of Strongest of the Four Horsemen. Fury and Strife have not been canonically aged but we know they are in the middle. Fury being the strongest among them when it comes to magical potential and Strife being their ranged (and based on genesis stealth) master. And finally the youngest of the Four War with his sword that absorbs rage and chaos and who had to have his arm cut off by the other three of the four horsemen. Some of the details for the grand abominations canonicity are questionable, but Deaths age and Power are not. :)
Ok so wats the point of making the novel Nd comic book, if there’re not canon. That just a waste of time. They could’ve just made a lore tab in the game Nd call it a day
K, gotta fix something about your video. Kinda nitpicky and I apologize for having to do it but I’m a huge darksiders fan. Death cannot summon a murder of crows, only dust, whom he’s mentally linked too. The only person who can command crows is the keeper of secrets, aka crowfather, who’s power outstrips deaths power to a great extent.
Had to stop halfway through the vid earlier today since we were out and about. But I've finished it now, and to know that the novel and comics aren't considered canon by the devs is horseshit to me. Disney got so much crap for fucking with Star Wars and saying the EU that George Lucas himself agreed was canon(at least as far as I know of that debacle) then Nordic can also suck it too. The novel doesn't contradict anything and neither do the comics. They're just expansions of lore. So I shall follow the same policy that I do for Star Wars. Anything that came before the properties switched hands remains canon in my eyes. The novel and comics will always be canon to me, just as the many games, novels, and comics for Star Wars remain canon to their fans.
Now that my rant is over, if anybody wants some fanmade stuff for Death in particular, check out my channel. This account I'm using right now is that very channel btw. I have a video of a poem I created based on Death's character a few months ago. It's a bit headcanony, but I thought I did well. Hopefully you guys do too, and also, do excuse my very young sounding voice. I cannot control that sadly.
We agree that there's no huge reason (so far) to decanonize the book (because it's awesome). That being said, from a business perspective it makes sense, it just makes it easier for them to make more stuff later without worrying about contradicting something from the book. (Though that little "things could have changed" note at the beginning of the book kind of covers them already in our opinion.)
Course two of them, the Normals, got sold at the last show since we felt they were fat enough to be ok with whoever bought them. The other two will need to fatten up some more before we sell them. And again I'm keeping the Banana with the small eyes. Lastly, Dad got Elvis(our Kingpin morph) a new girlfriend. She's a Butter morph and my sister in her infinite wisdom helped pick the perfect name for her. Princess Buttercup. A fitting name, not just because she's a Butter, but because she's gonna live like the Princess she is now. The guy who sold her said he got her from a bad home. She had really bad scale rot on her belly, but he managed to fix her up. She's perfectly fine now, just has some permanent scars on her belly from that time. She'll still be able to breed when the time comes at least.
Great vid guys, angry Death is one of my favorite parts of the game. But I think there's at least one contradiction between the game and book. In the game he doesnt know about the well of souls but in the book he knows that azreal guards the well
I'm not saying this is official explanation, but i would say that even during Darksiders 2, Death knew about the Well of Souls, he just didn't know, that it was located inside the Tree of Life/Death. As even War know about the Well, so Death certainly would know as well
@@alctraz_s299 If I remember correctly, he thinks that the Tree of Life can resurrect humanity, cuz Crowfather said that to him. Even at his weakest, Death kills a Concept that ends other Concepts and is ending all of existence. That's so much above killing a few Gods. Death would rip through him in a nanosecond.
@@TheStraightestWhitest And I don't disagree with you on that one
For the longest time, I thought that by the time Death had finished his journey, War was already fighting Abandon. I thought Darksiders 2 had just started earlier than Darksiders one.
A bit unrelated, I know... but it's still something I want to mention since it relates mostly to Death since he's who I think of when I thimk of Darksiders and/or the Four Horsemen.
That's what happens. By the time Death throws himself in the Well of Souls War has slain the destroyer and eventually the 7th seal has been broken by Uriel reviving both War and Death and calling the horseman to arms.
I don't know if someone pointed this one out but every intro and outro of your videos different. Bravo for that.
He is considered the strongest because he is the last to ride during the end of days because were death goes nothing remains hence the strongest
love the video guys keep up the awesome work and i hope soon you guys can do a video on War someday
Can you guys do a video about the Heartless and Nobodies?
Looking forward to a Strife video once Darksiders Genesis comes out later this year!
I love death it was my first Darksiders game and he is a badass also you video was well done
The Nephilims Respite is what they all use, he made one for all of them.
There is a scene u guys miss in game when u go to earth and get 1 part of the staff go back to the angel and speak to him there is a interesting mini chat
I’m so excited to see Wars now!!
Make a lore video about war of the Darksiders universe
Cool video! You guys should do one on the Phantom Horses.
We appreciate it, :) And we did do one on the Phantom Horses in this assorted Lore video. :)
ruclips.net/video/UuN52p7s-QM/видео.html
Great video as always
14:58 I think it's already hinted that it's very close to the end of darksiders 1
at the end of the game where lilith goes to talk to lucifer, he mentions that the end war is upon us, considering the fact that the destroyer kept the seventh seal to himself at all times, and lucifer was aware of it, if he knows that the apocalypse is near, he should have known that the seal is broken, Either he brought humanity back to life at the apocalypse or 5-10 years before it
It was said by the Dev, that time between Death resurrection and his sacrifice isn't specified, yet considering all clues we can find through game, it's very likely that the time you mentioned could be very probably, as i would said about 10 years before DS1.
My favorite Horseman 13:05
Great video; loved it! Personal headcanon is that Death was the second Nephilim, but I have zero evidence for that; I just like the idea :P
jelenneth He is one of the oldest though.
@@bryguy1502 Oh yeah, I know that. I just meant there's no evidence that Death was the very next one after Absalom. (not that I know of anyway)
It may explain how he does seem to have had somekind of past experience with her in some manner; she may have oversaw the immediate generation spawned from Abby. It would explain why he gets clearly agitated when she calls herself his mother, I definitely see a story how the demon may have tried to convince the first Nephs of this so they may follow her or Hell at large.
jelenneth Is say it’s pretty likely, given how close the two were before Death became a Rider.
@@bryguy1502 Yep! :) That's precisely what gave me the idea
I guess I'll hit you another time with my request, Kain from the LoK series. Keep the good stuff coming.
Or in the final battle you can fight with all 4 of them by switching between them
Love the video but I think you should discuss some things in little more detail.
Death's relationship with his brothers and sister, how War suggested a wager during their search for mounts, etc.
Just a thought for future content, keep up the great work :)
THERE IS NO PLACE FOR A HORSE
"My brother War... I would save him above all else." -Death
@@ReignSupreme2014 HE IS INNOCENT!!
He is the most human, because Death is a part of every human's life.
"WHERESH THE KEY?! WHERE ISH IT? YOU'D NEVER GIVE IT TO AN ORDINARY CHITZEN!"
How about you take of that mask of yours and show me your real face huh?"
Death: "how about I take off your mouth instead?"
DP: "oh no, that would be a bad idea, it would ruin the whole movie if I couldn't talk."
Death: "bringing things to ruin is what I do best."
DP: "oh... okay then."
please do a lore video on the dragon war from monster hunter series
Another thing (I've only just thought about) when they do the 5th game and hopefully it will be all 4 horsemen, will we see death without his mask? Since he gave to the crowfather
Maybe Lilith when making absalom she used her demon magic to gift her first Nephilim with a kind of fail safe so when he is about to die corruption sprang forth to keep her child alive
This was great can’t wait to see your lore video on war it’s going to be great
We look forward to it! We will be holding off until after Darksiders Genesis though.

They should make the abomination vault novel into a co op game like genesis

Nice video. So i guess the next in line are War and Fury, as for Strife you probably gonna wait until Genesis release.
We actually did one on Fury already, here's the link: ruclips.net/video/5fnD7dBrqvs/видео.html
But we're gonna hold off on War (and of course Strife) until after Genesis.
The chuckle Death gets in his voice reminds me of sarcastic grandfather
Badass imagine holding ur entire race in your chest 💪 that's beyond incredible!! Wat a story
I think they made the novel and the comic non-canon cause it made Death look too strong compared to his siblings.
Can you do a lore on War
Oh, so it's canonical for him to be a necromancer... Cool.
I mean he's death so of course he's a necromancer
I always wondered who is more powerful

Hey just a thought but is there any connections between the pauldron shoulder armor you get from the shaman maker in Darksiders 2 and the suspiciously close looking shoulder armor of War.
the item description specifically states that it is War's pauldron pulsing with the power of War and Ruin. :)
@@TrueMastersandMorons Ahh sorry, been a while since I played Darksiders 2 but thought there might be some less straight forward lore. Thanks

Death... no competition, but I am interested in hearing why you think she could 🤔
i also wanna learn about fury if you think she wins. for me its always death

I thought that’s what genesis would be but for some reason no
If things go well that is supposedly the plan for the "final" game, after Strife gets his own standalone game.
Kratos an the horsmen went through the same experience that touching af omg they the only race that could understand his nightmares
Cool
Can you guys do didact from halo thanks a bunch 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Make a video of war ok
Now I'm just mainly confused about the timeline of the games. Who's first?
1. Genesis
2. The prologue of darksiders 1
3. Darksiders 3
4. Darksiders 2 is either entirely before 1 or overlaps near the end
what??? Absalon was the first and then the death. it was literally stated in-game that he was the eldest among the four.

(Though that little "things could have changed" note at the beginning of the book kind of covers them already in our opinion.)
preach it!
Also, all of the babies have eaten! The little Enchi ate their noms!
As even War know about the Well, so Death certainly would know as well
@@Xuerios except in the game Death thinks that the Tree of Life does what the Well does. Why would he think that if he knew the Well of Souls exists?
@@alctraz_s299 If I remember correctly, he thinks that the Tree of Life can resurrect humanity, cuz Crowfather said that to him.
