It does come with The Lower lip Spoiler. It’s just a $4000 Carbon fiber Option Called the Ground Effects Carbon Fiber package that includes The Front spoiler, Side rockers and a More aggressive rear spoiler.

Great review. I particularly appreciate your explanations of interplay of performance and design for the Corvette. For example, the venting for cooling the transaxle which is I turn used to better distribute weight. This really makes me appreciate the car’s design. Bravo!

I would def go for the GS for those of us who don't need monster power of the Z06. A used one could be a good deal if under warranty. Better handling with 4 full inches more out the back, LSD, dry sump, brakes, Z06 looks. Then sell it to get a used next gen Vette.

I actually prefer the vertical bars in the grill if the corvette that resemble the C1 Vettes. I saw an aftermarket replacement that had wider than production vertical bars shaped more like those on the C1 in black carbon fiber and it looked incredible. I think that at some time during the C8s run GM should go for broke with it and make it in either carbon fiber, black stainless or black chrome.

From a 2017 STI to a 18 Nismo Z, cant wait to get my hands on a 7 spd Grand Sport C7 Corvette. Really like those small exterior changes found on a grand sport and z06. After looking at a grandsport or z06, the singray looks really plain :/ Great job on differentiating between the trims/types! Just recently got into looking at corvettes and the differences between the tiers.

    Great Review.
My only complaint and it is not just with you but with many. The Corvette, since 97 has had a rear mounted transmission and not a transaxle. They are technically 2 different things. The C8 is the first Corvette using a Transaxle where the transmission and differential are in 1 unit using 1 liquid. The C5, C6 and C7 all use transmissions with separate differentials. Other than that , I enjoyed the review.
I recently made the mistake of going to a Chevy dealer where they had a white 2014 C7 Z51 3LT 6 speed auto with 18K miles. I fell in love with it and now trying to convince my wife to let my go pick it up.

Liking the wider setup, but honestly i wont be tracking it... Yeah the GS will feel tighter and quicker in the twisties, but My Girlfriend who now squirms when I take an expressway exit ramp at high speeds in my 2013 Lexus ES350 will shit her pants with the Stingray, let alone the GS !

Awesome review and cars, Joe. I'd be satisfied with either one, but given a choice, the GS is the way to go. To answer your question, yes, I think we won't see the GS or the Z06 for the first year generation C-8. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see a big twin turbo V-6 as the engine for the C-8. The twin turbo 6 banger engine works very well in other sports cars, as you know. They can get a whole lot of ponies and torque from that engine. The space available for a big V-8 engine may not be there in a mid-engine design. It would be lighter as well, I'm thinking. Who the hell knows, Chevy may surprise everyone and offer both the C-7 and C-8 next year, since both are made in the same assembly plant. I here tell the sales are down on the 2019 model due to the anticipation of the C-8 coming out next year. Might be some great bargains at the dealerships later this year. Thanks again, keep em' comin'.

Looks like you could put some smaller size flat screen TV's in the back! No need for a SUV!

Honestly the Z51 is the one to get, GS with the additional weight, aero drag, and heavier rims and tires gets 24 mpg Hwy whereas the Z51 gets 29 mpg and there are numerous videos showing the Z51 is faster from a dig, 8th mile, quarter mile etc. There is also a 10k price premium for the GS, right now (July 2024) you can find 2014 Z51 3LT's M7 for $40-45k whereas GS are going for $55k+. The GS will handle better with the additional tire width but yeah, aerodynamic drag etc, Z51 is faster and cheaper. If you don't believe me look up C7 Stingray vs GS videos, base stingray is faster. 100 lbs weight difference will also detract from the handling gains.

How much wider is the GS compared to the Stingray?

I feel funny saying this about a GM but where is the Test Drive LOL.
This is my first time seeing a review Of A Vett. With all that trunk space this would be a fast dally driver👀🏁

Geeze Louise Joe, another Corvette video!? How about something different for a change? Like, oh, I don't know, a FORD truck!? 😅 Seriously though, I'd like to see you do a review of the Sport Track. Okay, back to the Vette. You hit all the salient points with it, but one thing is for sure. For anyone interested in a See the USA in your Chevrolet (Corvette), buy now! Until you experience for yourself how much "stuff" you can fit in the back, you have no idea. When the mid-engine comes out, the only thing you'll be able to get in the Frunk will be your Man Bag and if you're traveling with wife, girlfriend, whatever, she may have to leave her Lady's Bag at home. I'm half suspicious the mid-engine may not even have a glove box. Time will tell.

I was born the same year as the Corvette and Playboy magazine: Two of the most iconic American creations of my generation.
However, unlike Corvette and Playboy, I've never been able to reinvent myself. When you asked how many were James Bond fans, I was sure you were going to say the 'vette has an ejector seat.

72 for the GS was a bargain. I'd go with the Stingray better bargain & I don't track. RIP real Corvettes. :(
