- Come take a ride and check out this 2019 Corvette Stingray, it could be the last. With the new C8 mid engine Corvette on the horizon, is Chevrolet going to stop producing a front engine Corvette? Is the C7 Corvette still good enough? Find out for yourself!
C7 is the best looking vette ever. Absolutely gorgeous
It is one heck of a machine!
Zr1 and the c8 look better in my opinion the c7 is one of those normal corvettes I see everyday tbh yes the zr1 is kinda common but not as common and the c8 is just 👌🏾 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾🥵🥵🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
C8 are better.
@@Creg_mack392 don't think so. Hahaha 😆
The C7 is a good car to buy used when the C8 comes out. When the price reach the low $30ks. That’s better than buy a newer Stang or Camero.
Tat is a really great point! Thank you for sharing that!
Raiti's Rides yes
@DeathDae we can hope so, but I think it will be a few years before the price of these cars drop significantly with the market we are in.
It's newer model corvette with higher technology. the value will maintain very well. way better than c6.
to reach 30k, its gonna take forever
2023. Cars going for 40k 😂
This guy knows cars !! Great personality too
That is so wonderful of you to say Jason! Thank you for saying tat!
Spot on Joe really admire your willingness to give zonks when needed not like all those other you tubers who have been tamed by the auto dealers to never suggest anything slightly negative ,like many who have gotten there script with there free pass to the detroit auto show .
That really means a lot! All I can do is just me me. Thank you so much for always watching!
Great video! Love this Corvette. Have an order in for a ZR1. I’ve owned 7 since my first one in 1971(454 tri-carb).
Thank you for the compliment! Congrats on your order! The ZR1 is truly the king! That is really amazing that you had a 1971! I appreciate you watching!
From a straight 6 to a mid engine super car destroyer. Props to go for having the intestinal fortitude to step into this arena.if i was looking to buy one I'd resist temptation to get one of the first.there will be some kinks to work out but eventually it's gonna be epic.
Do whatever you need to do to get your car man! I basically lived out of my truck for three years to get a 2019 stingray. So worth it! My dream car!
Thanks brother for that inspiration!
Dropping a lot of knowledge that’s one of the reasons you’re chanel is sow awesome 👏 GBU
Sammy Rodrz that’s really wonderful of you to say!😊👍🏻🏆
And the fact that you respond to our text is cool.love Tampa Bay...
You said the manual transmission adds 5HP. Unless I’m mistaken it’s actually the performance exhaust option that adds 5HP.
Twippie Diggs Actually; it’s the Z51 option that adds the 5 hp to = 460 hp, 465 lb-ft torque.
Actually, it's the red paint that adds 5 hp.
@@bbbeck6573 It's actually the NPP exhaust that adds 5hp/5lbs torque. The NPP comes standard on the Z51 package or $1200 option on the non Z51.
Yeah I tripped over my thoughts on that one. Thanks for for the heads up! I appreciate your help and watching!
Thank you for adding info on the topic.
Love the Corvette, American all the way...
Yes sir! Thank you for watching!
I f I were a multi- millionaire you can best believe I'd have one in my ten car garage...A Mater Piece!!! Well Done General Motors!!!
Same here! It really is a great car!
A ZR1 at that. Lol.
Rented this car for 2 days, one comment * wow * what a car.
I totally agree with you!
The review was crisp and clear I hope you reach 1 million very soon, God bless!
Thanks Ryan! I really appreciate your support!
@@RaitisRides 🙏
What a Fantastic car the last of the great front engine corvettes love the v8 👍
Thank you for sharing your input and perspective! I really appreciate you taking the time to watch!
I got that same stingray 1LT that has carbon fiber skirts, got it with 8857 miles last year got it over 10k miles. I love this version of the car, as well as the new one.
That is so fantastic!
excellent review of this C-7 sting ray, Joe. I would be completely satisfied with that model after watching it perform. I guess I'm getting old, because I don't need all those ponies in the ZR1 or Z06, or even the grand sport. This sting ray is awesome. As to whether its the last front engine model, who knows. they might continue offering both, or, if sales fall flat on the mid-engine model, they might go back to the front engine car. I can imagine what they would say if they did. "WE'RE BAAAAACK!" Great job, as always, keep em' comin'.
I am so glad you approve of this Corvette! It really was a blast to drive! Thank you for letting me share it with you and you bring up a good point!
This was awesome and beautiful! Thank you for the info about the Bowling Green Badges, I had no idea. Thank you Maus Family Dealership! Good luck Tom!
Thank you so much for sharing your input and perspective! I appreciate you watching!
What a very special car, and what a superb episode of the show.
I am so glad that you like this one! Really appreciate you always taking the time to watch and comment! It really means a lot!
Great review, comprehensive and a joy to watch...the passion and enthusiasm is contagious.
This is the best looking model corvette ever put out, tops the c8 all day. ( but just my opinion) It has absolute unique look,...the c8 looks like a copy of exotic sports cars.
I have owned a 1977 Corvette Coupe (sadly it was an automatic) and multiple C5s including 2 Coupes with Z51 and the Z06, all 2004s and all manuals. I finally got to rent the C7 back in 2016 I believe. At first I felt guilty spending so much to rent a car. However, after I pressed the engine start button and drove down the road a bit all the guilt melted away. I was BLOWN away by both the performance and the interior which nearly rivaled Porsche 911 in terms of quality. Funny enough I rented it in Florida (Orlando to be exact) and had a tough time finding curvy roads. I bet you can relate given you live in Florida. Once I did find some though, the thing cornered LIKE IT WAS ON RAILS! I can't even imagine how tight the cornering on the Z51 models must be. Great review as always Joe and keep up the good work. You need to own another Corvette as the ownership experience is really unlike any other.
Thanks Victor for sharing that great experience. You are so very edit.
Some points to note
The calipers can be optioned in yellow, or red in any model.
The Z51 package removes that front licence plate. It also adds the spoiler. As well as a bunch of cooling, drysump oil system.
The base model corvette (as shown here) has optioned Z51 wheels. Base wheels are 18" in the front and 19" in the rear.
All corvettes have carbon fiber hoods and roofs.
The NPP exhaust in this vehicle adds the extra HP. Unlike in the SS Camaro where the transmission choice determines the final HP. Any stingray with the NPP exhaust regardless of the trans has the same HP.
The stingray emblem inside the vehicle is customizable from the factory you can put whatever you want on it.
You can set the drive mode (eco, tour, sport, track) to change the on screen driver display. Each mode has a different display. (Tour and eco share the same hud)
Thank you for your wonderfully detailed info! I really appreciate you watching!
The front license plate holder is installed at the dealer for states that require it. I have a non-Z51 and the plate holder was in the trunk still wrapped in factory plastic.
The standard tire size for Stingray is now 19 front and 20 rear. You no longer need Z51 optioned wheels.
Yes @Twippie Digs is right about the 19/20" on the 2019s (think the 18s too? 🍻🍻 I have a 16 ;)
You are on it with your C7 info! Thanks!
LOVE the C7 ! Timeless design and great Supercar value.....World Class. Great review, brother
Thank you for letting me share it with you and you are so right about value!
Hey Joe traded my C7 in 2020 for my new C8. C8 is a fantastic car but the manual C7 had soul. Just bought a torch Red 2017 manual. Pick it up Saturday…can’t wait!
Great review as usual, Joe! 1973 looked weird with the front urethane bumper and the rear chrome one. The chrome strip on the grille of the C7 looks like an aftermarket add-on, I would remove it or change the grill. I like the dash, I rented a convertible in Hawaii three years ago, and that made me want a convertible muscle car, that why I bought the Mustang.
Kheireddine El-Ahdab thanks for your wonderful compliment and sharing your thoughts! A convertible Mustang is such a way to go!
Very well done video. The detail described by the video host is correct and spot on, about the Corvette history of the Vintage Model years! I know from the information that he is describing because I am a member of the NCRS- National Corvette Restorers Society.
Thank you Lane for saying that! It really means a lot! The Chevrolet Corvette holds a special place in my heart!
@@RaitisRides you are very welcome, and it was my pleasure. I use to own a 1966 Corvette Sting Ray Convertible, 1967 Corvette Sting Ray 427 Convertible with many options as well as factory air conditioning. Also I had owned a 1972 Corvette Stingray. I was restoring my Vettes and sold them years ago. I really miss my 1967 Big Block Corvette Sting Ray My father had owned a new 1975 Corvette Stingray. I also judge Corvette's with the NCRS. So yes Corvette is in my blood.
I can't find anytime wrong with the C7. It's beautiful and is a great performance car.
I totally agree with you! Thank you for watching!
Outstanding review, you are so good Joe!! Got to love the corvette, they stepped up their game so much it's almost hard to believe they came up with such an amaizing design. The pricetag hurts but I think it's totally fair.
Thank you for saying such wonderful things! Corvette has really stepped up!
Hi Joe. I'm picking up a 2016 Z06 drop top tomorrow. So excited. Sold my CTS-V to get back into a Corvette
Should’ve got a c8
i love this video soo much, i keep coming back to it! Raiti... i think the corvette is in trouble, thats why its going to a mid engine. Also i found out today, the camaro will be discontinued in 2023!
Thanks for coming back for more! I really appreciate that! I heard the bad news as well!
Hey Joe! don't you just love that red beauty? I hope they keep the front engine model for a while. Great camera work Tom. Little trivia for you Joe, do you remember the little nick name they used to call the Vettes after the metal bumpers disappeared? If you guest Rubber Ducky your right. 😆
David I did not want to give this Corvette back at all! Thank you for your wonderful compliments and the extra trivia! They need to have a car game show!
I don't believe that this will be the last year for the front engine Corvette. 😏 Always enjoy the test ride, Joe.
It will be interesting to see what happens!
I'm so glad that we now get the Chevrolet Camaro SS, Corvette Stingray, Corvette Grand Sport and the Corvette Z06 in the UK from an official dealer. Only downside is that it is LHD. 😁😁
That is very true! You could always move to the States! ;-)
@@RaitisRides I am planning to one day 😁😁
Coo! Which state would you want to live in?
Raiti's Rides Im not sure really mate. I was thinking about Austin Texas but I need to go there on holiday and discover the great places that the US has to offer!
@@jc19_rr38 I live in Austin, Texas and a lot of people are moving there. Austin is a great city to move to.
Was being mistaken for a Ferrari. Great I’ll de-badge mine when I get it
Great anser! lol
Corvette may very well be one of the few modern day cars that are actually improved upon with the addition of Chrome, particularly with the shade of red
One of my all time favourite videos! Go red or go home! Thank you so much!
That really means a lot! Thank you so much for watching!
Best car reviewer out there!! Great job !
Thank you Omar! I really appreciate you saying that! Thank you for taking the time to watch!
that corvette is fire!! and it's in my favorite color 🖒🖒🖒💜💜
Thank you David for letting me share it with you!
I love the look of Corvettes modern and 20th century ones!.
21st century now ;-)
Corvettes are very stable cars and great performance that you can buy under 100k. I think it is a great deal.
It really is probably one of the best deals on the market for performance!
I’m going to miss the front engine. Let’s see how the mid engine goes and I hope to see you review it.
Fingers crossed they don't mess it up!
Great review Joe ! This is my retirement car, but it will be at least a 2016 Stingray 2LT 7 speed manual! Non ZR1, with hopefully Magnetic ride control.. First choice color will be Artic White, 2nd: Longbeach metallic Red, 3rd: Silver, 4th: Laguna Blue. Preferably 1 owner and with under 50k miles. It will be in about 4 years when I’m ready to buy... so I have plenty of time to drool over videos like this one !
Love the test ride especially with the camera mounted in the middle... Felt like i was driving this C7 !! Awesome 👏!
Are you sure that was a 3LT ? They typically come with a larger rear deck wing... TBH,, i love this standard small wing which comes with the 1LT, it accentuates the rear fender lines that lead to it
Thanks for letting me share it with you!
Retirement u fool? This about to be my work car
This is my dream car! Amazing video Joe.
Awesome Car Raiti..wish I had one..lol.
So do I! This one I really did not want to give back!
@@RaitisRides I noticed that...lol
F-150 KING OF TRUCKS good intuition!😂
Got a 2014 Camaro at the moment, by 2023 this will be mine
What can I say? It's a Corvette! lol I had no idea that you haven't driven a Vette since 1998. Joe, you've got to get out more. LOL I 'd like to see you review/comparison, with you driving, as to the difference between the C7 Z51, GS and ZO6.
I only now just got my Cow Bell new upload Alert Bell hooked up, so I apologize for the late "congrats" on 28k subscribers! CONGRATULATIONS!
Save the Wave.
You are right I need to get out in Corvettes more often. I would love to see and experience that as well.
Thank your for being there when we were at 8,000. I am just so very grateful for it all. I am gad to hear you took my suggestion about the cow bell. I am going to try to get to the emails you sent me today! I have been a little busy driving a Corvette!
OMG, now I may never hear from you again. You'll be too busy out looking for and driving Corvettes. Okay, okay, you can spend some time in the occasional McLaren. lol It's kinda like riding a bike isn't it, only better! lol Seems just like yesterday when you were at 8k. Lord only knows where you'll be tomorrow. You sure shot holes in the phrase "slow and steady wins the race." There's no turning back now my friend. Enjoy your ride!
Thanks bring on the ride with me!
I like the chrome pieces. I think it looks more expensive and breaks up the various parts of the car and makes a great ascent material. I think some real, physical 3D gauges would add to the experience. Something other than the flat face gauges. No digital cluster, please. Front engine, rear drive is a very good layout. I'm not sure why the dramatic push for mid-engine configuration. I don't think it would be as pleasant to drive on an everyday basis. I've only been in a C7 once, but I felt it was very good overall and certainly a very good car at speed cruising. The only thing, at least to me, is the very high price difference from base to equipped. You can almost get another car plus a base Corvette for the options price.
Thank for your input and perspective! I appreciate you watching!
I think they are going for the mid engine because they have practically maxed out the front engine layout.
8:16 I love the small spoiler in the rear.
Thank you so much for sharing your input and perspective! I appreciate you watching!
Love the corvette buddy! Great video Joe! Love watching your videos 🍻🏁🏎💨
Thank you so much sir! I really appreciate you taking the time to say that! It means a lot!
Raiti's Rides Your welcome buddy 🏎💨🍻👍
Wow, that car is AWESOME! I am seriously thinking in trading my 2018 Mustang GT for a Corvette.
I am so gad that you like it! The Corvette is one heck of a performer.
Mustangs are amazing but it just isn't a Vette.
When it's time to replace tires on my C7 Stingray, I'm gonna get non runflat to lighten up 5lbs of unsprung weight at each wheel, which is 3-4 times the equivalent of sprung weight. Also, I'll be widening the rear tires from 285 to 295 (.5 inch wider) for more grip because this engine is so powerful with 300lbs torque right off at 1000rpm that it breaks traction easily when you step on it.
I think that is a great direction to go in!
@@RaitisRides About tire size, I think I'll keep my OEM rear tire size of 285 because there's more tire contact patch for acceleration versus better looks of 295: www.tuneruniversity.com/blog/2011/04/wheel-tech-part-ii-size-matters/
Wonderful
I'm not digging that front bumper but I'm digging this review 👍
I would agree! I prefer the Grand Sport front nose! Thanks for the compliment!
I hate those type of grills. Reminds me of the animated cars from the Chevron commercials.
I can see where you are coming from!
PlastiDip can take care of that chrome strip. And if you get the carbon badge package for $100 they black out all the badges and the grille. Totally worth it.
@@AA-BB Its not the chrome that's the problem. Its that gaping mouth. But I guess it's the trend in modern cars
They do it for Z51s too with the 2014. I have a Z51 L3 with a Stingray and Z51 Badges. The Stingray is also Carbon Fiber style. Not Chrome.
Thank you for sharing your input and perspective! I appreciate you watching!
The current gen is so beautiful .
I totally agree with you!
Good information good job - just what I want to know about corvette Stingray- I’m getting ready to get my corvette yellow stingray sport coupe- thanks for the information.
I am so glad that I can bring it to you Martin!
I hope not. My dream car is a corvette stingray, and I need a few years yet.
You can make it happen!
Raiti's Rides hopefully. Anyways I enjoy your reviews, I just found out about your channel.
I believe in you man! Thank you for the great support!
Raiti's Rides thanks
I never took Raiti to be so much of a corvette guy, very respectable
$71K Dollar 💵💰💰💰☹️☹️. Love the review . Good job Joe
That is so really wonderful of you to say!
I enjoy your reviews when you drive the cars.
Thank you for saying that! It just all comes down to the dealership and the access they allow me. I always do my best with what I have!
I dont think its the last year i think it will be back chevy might just do this to make them the mid engines rarein the future
I hope it is not the final year!
THAT ADMIRAL BLUE VETTE IN THE DISTANCE AT 14:28 IS A GREAT COLOR!
You are so very right! Thanks for watching!
Love it!!!!! 2020 Vette is just another 84 Vette. It'll be worth nothing in 10 years.
I've never been a bow tie fan, but this was a very cool video
Thank you so much for watching! I almost feel like the Corvette is a seperate brand from Chevy.
Bring back the extended intro this is sick
You got it Justin!
Tom Peters did a great job with this C7 , also with the 6th gen Camaro 16-18, and the silverado 14-18, we need Peters back as head designer in GM!
Thanks for your great input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
Excellent video and if I could afford it I would love to have a new Corvette!
Thank you sir! I feel the same exact way!
Drove one today. Liked it but if I were to get one I’d go GS. Next is GT350. Curios how they’ll compare.
I would go GT350 all day long! It has way more personality!
Ya pick up a used one of these under warranty and have fun! I wonder if next gen Corvette will compete with the GT 500.
I wonder what white interior with black highlights would look like. I would still prob go for saddle brown inside.
Oh I totally sure about that plus also supercars!
@@amill1563 That would sound like a cool setup!
Awesome review of this legend !
I am so glad that you liked this one!
I prefer C7. 😍 C8 has a too "crowded" interior ... which gives a (clear) claustrophobic sensation. 😐
I agree with you!
The first Corvette you have driven in more than 20 years? I thought you were the expert on these cars!
I am an expert on them but it doesn't mean that I have driven all of them. If you need me to drop more info on my next Corvette I will. Don't want you to think I am rusty. ;-)
Yes it is sadly. I'm not a big fan of the C8 renderings so far for the new mid engine
It is going to be interesting to see how this turns out!
You wanna be like James bond yes I do get one of these man I'm saving
Heck yeah!
Awesome colo and car, manual vette all the way, more enjoyable IMO. great video Joe
I would totally agree with you but I was happy for the short time that I had this one!
Raiti's Rides no doubt about that, 👍
Such a wonderful car. Whoever has some spare Dollars to spend: Get your hands on it. Put it in a dry, heated garage. Be car-happy until your last day on earth.
Thank you for sharing your input and perspective. I really appreciate you watching!
I like this better than the c8
11:30
My inner Spelling Bee Champion give you a ZONK for a spelling error
if i look at the mid engine I would say that's sick but the front end engine is Sweet
So would I! Great minds think a like!
The last year of the front engine Corvette could become a collectors item. Then again it could be a marketing ploy to sell more Corvettes before the mid engine comes out. I don’t think the Corvette purists are going to go for the mid engine.
Time will tell. Nice job as usual Joe! 👍👍
Very well said! I am still not sold on a mid engine Corvette! This one I wanted to take home!
L S is gonna go up in value no doubt
Anderson Rodriguez yes sir!
There are too many produced to become a collectors item. A ZR1 may but not a Stingray.
Twippie Diggs I never said the Stingray. Read it again.
Has Chevrolet fixed the cracking bending rim problem on 2019 Corvettes? Surprised, Chevrolet isn't covering these cracking rims under warranty. Is the problem fixed yet?
I am 6"2 260 bodybuilder. I am not sure if I will fit in one.
Just trade my 2017 1lt for 2019 blue cover table . My fifth corvette and second convertible.
Great review you answer alot of questions THXXXXX
You actually don’t understand the purpose of the two pieces i. front. It’s not so much for aerodynamics, but to emulate the shape of a stingray
Great job. You always get the history all else right!
Thanks for being so dedicated and awesome!
American is the way to go!! Beautiful car!
I am so glad that you liked this one!
Ugh ... I want a c7 but need a couple more years
I know exactly how you feel!
She is fun :) Hope you grt one.
18:59 bruhhhh you just drove by my house !!!!
That is so crazy! Very small world! lol
Yep.
This makes me want a Stingray or Z51 C7. I liked the C6, too. GM build quality and reliable has been tanking, but I believe they put extra attention to the high line vehicles like this. The Caddys, not so much...
I totally agree with you!
I think the Vette having a dedicated build site in Bowling Green tightens up the quality control. They have been building Vettes there forever and I’d have to believe they know what they are doing.
You are so very right!
@@AA-BB And take pride in the heritage, and their work.
So very true!
Buddy. Only people from Kentucky would want Kentucky written on their car! 🤦🏻♀️
Huh? I am proud that this car is made in the USA!
People that into the heritage of Corvette would appreciate it.
You know your stuff. I am excited about the Zora Vette.
Alec J thank you so much Alec for watching!😊
Shopping for my C6 replacement as we speak!
What are you thinking?
Raiti's Rides C7 GS vert....
I just bought a 2015 Z51 Auto 2LT with PDR and Nav White with Red interior. If you are buying a base corvette its Z51 or GTFO why would anyone buy a vette without Z51 if you are going to track or not its too much performance not to have it its the same damn price used... performance gears alone is worth it better brakes better suspension a electronic limited slip differential actual working rear ducts bigger and better tires better and bigger wheels. Not getting Z51 shouldn't even be an option who wants a performance sports car with less performance lol
Yes it will
Great review loved it!!! Nice Job
Thank you so much for taking the time to say that! I really appreciate it!
no it wont be. they will make it 1 more year. A special commemorative edition is coming out! To be announced in May or april! stay tuned! So one more year for the c7!
Thank for your input and perspective! I appreciate you watching!
This comment aged well 😂
Joe,love your channel.just really curious what's your daily driver.I kind of have you as a vette guy🙂
Absolutely beautiful car, not a fan of the C-8 at all.
I know how you feel!
Needless to say it’s a beauty!!! You lucky dawg!
i like the chrome strip
It's nice to have options so I am okay with that! I appreciate your input and thank you for watching!
