I was doing this kind of stuff at my parents Lang Lang Honey Farm in the mid '80s till my father put a stop to the 'fanging'😢
Always good fun going for a fang!!
That kid is going to have great memories of tearing around that track.
Hmm lets see. How many CAMS violations can I count? King Gee shorts and shirt - no fireproof race suit. Ear muffs - no helmet. Roll bar - no race cage. Open window - no driver head arrest net. Solo drive - no navigator. Lap sash seatbelt - no quick release safety harness. Cracked glass windscreen - no plexiglass. Petrol tank behind driver - no barrier between driver and fuel cell. Old split tyres - not new with sufficient grip. I could go on.
And another thing - I FREAKIN LOVED THIS!!!!
The old boy hasn't lost any of his tenacity behind the wheel. The VW motor sure is sweet now, and the setup looks pretty stable for the rough stuff. Screw the 8 seconds - THIS ROCKED!!

loved it, plenty of understeer & power oversteer & everything else in between, funny watching the gopro leaping off & LP kept going.

Jack, Elvis’s song ‘all shook up’ came to mind as I watched LP fang around the track 😊. He loved it , I loved it. LP wasn’t going to concede 8 seconds to his age, it was the age of the tires!!!
What a ripper!! I was going through one of my Australian Motoring Yearbooks a little while ago and there is a pic of Larry taking off his dirty white overalls behind this car at a checkpoint.
Get those Perkins glasses out fucking awesome family of drivers hats off!!! And brock legacy too!!! Go Larry and of course Jack!!!!! Go the Perkins family 🎉let’s go for succession Jack!!!!

Not quite sure who was doing the most work there , LP or VW. Fun to watch . All the sounds and footage were awesome, just imagine spending a few hours racing in that cockpit . Be a long hard day. Great content thanks for sharing guys.

I was crying here watching my hero driver at the wheel again. 😢 His facial concentration and expressions are just like the shots we got from the Bathurst era. Well done to a true champion for showing and reminding us all over again. 👏

LP says 8 seconds slower so the original 1979 tyres might need to be replaced?
I think 8 seconds slower when the driver is 40 years older means LP is still a bloody legend on the dirt just as he was back then. That's awesome.

Awesome stuff Jack with Larry fanging around in the Mallee Scrub I was over there a couple of years ago I was at Berri for a few days then went to Pinnaroo and on to Walpeup and down to Patchewollock to check out the Silo art around that area I also carted a lot of grain and livestock out of that country back in the 70s
That Australia (and NZ) produce truly epic individuals like Larry Perkins, Jack Brabham, and Bruce McLaren is a testament to the greatness of these nations and their people. Absolutely love it, LP and Jack! Keep it up!

They're both old ( LP & Beetle) but no where near rusty, loved how it gets off the line
That look of concentration and determination again. Better hit up O'BRIEN GLASS for some sponsorship. The view off the roof looks way faster than other angles and seeing the master at work enjoying himself is priceless. An inch or two of line out there is a tiny bit more forgiving than most tracks he's mastered. Loved the footage from every angle and every aspect. Always happy to see you guys behind the wheel

I had a smile from ear to ear watching Larry giving it all the beans. My 17yo watched with me (after I gave him a run down of Larry's accomplishments) and he said he'd love to try that one day. Might have to investigate learn to rally courses for him, should be fun. Thanks for all of the entertainment Jack, Larry and team.
