Totally. Then again, I doubt LP could put up with the bs that is supercars today. They don't like people who are capable of thinking outside the square
I know im randomly asking but does anyone know a tool to log back into an instagram account..? I somehow forgot the account password. I love any tips you can offer me
@Bowen Antonio Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and im in the hacking process now. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
There are a lot of tricks to that beetle. 61-2 body with later brakes (probably a 68-70 bj/irs pan) Front beam stiffeners. External oil filter and prob oil cooler. Alternator instead of a generator. My money is on a lot of engine mods on a 1600dp base motor too. Fuel tank moved. Seriously trimmed front and back end with a baja engine cage. Etc etc.
Remember seeing Larry's VW at Wyndorah in the '85 Wynns. I would love to know the conversations from the RalliArt team as they approached Darwin. I have heard that Hans Jockstrap had something to do with "driver instructions" on the last day. Do you think that this story could be dragged from Larry. The magazine VW Power did a description of Larry's 2L motor which I can't find, but remember Larry's description as "it was built like a tractor". The perspex windows were yellow with age in '85, tools were in a little red toolbox screwed to the rear floor, there was fluffy insulation hanging off the inside, unmatched worn out race seats, King gee overalls and gym boots. Mitsubishi must have been having a heart attack.
No need to apologise Jack for not having your videos out Mate. I am just grateful for the content we do get.. Don't put to much pressure on yourself Mate. Thanks for the Content. One other thing when You and Larry were looking over the Beetle.. I can't believe he said that it had "the good Bridgestone tyres on it". That was classic. Hope all is well. Thanks again. Cheers.
JP. Thanks for the history lesson mista ! We've all got a small window of time in the next decade to record the memories, before they fall out of the proverbial ? V.
Another great video Jack, it’s great to see what LP is tinkering with up at the farm and how many projects he’s got on the go, the man is an engineering genius..... plastic windows in the beetle to keep the weight down and a bit of wire to keep the drivers window up🤣🤣🤣 awesome. Cheers,
I have no doubt given we're talking about L.P that his choice of fuel would have been high octane beetle juice. It's always great to hear what the master of innovation is up to now.
Remember the vw in the Wynn's safari running 3rd at one stage I think .was quite shock how basic it was when it arrived in Darwin .A credit to Larry. Simple is best.
Awesome !! LP loves it ! just a genuine enthusiasm for mechanical things !! If it aint broke ...... pull it apart and rebuild it anyway !! Wouldn't ya just love to sit down and have a beer with Larry ? there would be some bloody good yarns i reckon
Good stuff Larrikin! Why haven’t they got a statue of you at Bathurst yet? Your a bloody legend mate and I don’t use that word loosely! Keep up the good work Jack 👍😎🇦🇺
Great videos Jack! I'd love to hear about Larry's outback treasure hunting and if he has plans to do any more in the future if you're ever thinking of ideas for future videos.
Hey Larry, a formula V mate of yours at Peers Motors, Murrayville, rebuilt an 1800 Kombi engine for me in 1988. It had already been poorly rebuilt, we only got a few thousand kilometres out of that build but after your mate worked miracles, we drove it for nearly 100,000k before trading it for a stupid vl commodore with a nissan engine that would boil regularly unlike the Kombi. The water pump was hand operated in the Kombi-camper. That got you? Anyway, we enjoyed a pretty much trouble free run with the Kombi. A few years back, we came past your area, Murrayville looked sad, particularly Peers. Enjoy your VW rally car. Cheers..
We were in Murrayville not so long back and checked out the tanks in the paddock there. Hoping to get back there soon as we had a great time camping and 4wd'ing in the parks there and enjoying the scenery. Checked out the business you spoke of and it looked like they just walked away from it although I think the sign said that they had moved to another town. Had a chat to a local farmer at the campground and he gave us a bit of a history lesson on the area while he was checking the facilities. Must get back there, spend some money in town while we are there and look around a bit more.
@@oldbloke204 Thanks. In my younger days, (1969 - 1975), I spent a lot of time at Pinnaroo, relieving at the Post Office, I had relatives near Panitya and Murrayville that I would visit regularly, loved getting onto their farms. Dry, people don't know dry until they get out into that Mallee country. Attended a few footy matches at Ngallo oval. Sorted a lot of mail for all the little locations between Pinnaroo and Ouyen. Good memories. I got to get back there one of these days and see the places again. Cheers.. Ps, I was going to put up a pic of my old Kombi.
I spy a model aeroplane there, who's is that, My father flew with Steve and Wally at the farm many many years ago, infact maybe on the main Street of Cowangie too
Love LP's project's. I hope & prey the farm doesn't get over run by the mice plague. They are destroying everything in there path including restored vehicles, hot rods, farm equipment even computers in schools & homes. They don't seem to be putting much of a dint in the population either, as fast as they're culled there's double to replace them.😔
That happy sneaky laugh of Larry's 🤣🇦🇺
I really miss seeing Larry sitting on the grid in his commodores, hasn’t been the same since he retired. Love seeing the videos, thanks for posting

I wouldn't restore the beetle as that will erase the memories & stories of those hard earned scars. Just service & reassemble 👍
Awesome !! LP loves it !

Often wondered what happened to the earlier oval window rally bugs the Perkins brothers rallied in the 50s ?
Cool
Nice old chamberlain 55ka
Did I see a Kingswood wagon in the shed? would Larry like to part with it?
Just a blast with the gerni and she'll be ready to go again?
G'day,
Kevin here im putting my hand up to ride along with LP in the beetle. We can share the driving.
Which model Caterpillar?
Does Larry have any of Eddie's beetles?
