Massive respect to Jack Perkins for all the work done to restore the Castrol 11 Holden. 5.0L V8. Not just the spanner work but sourcing the original parts, the hours on the phone & online. A true labour of love.
I am so glad I was around to watch these cars race. So many great memories of what I consider, real, true Aussie racing. Not the imported nascar clone we now have. Relatable, soul, exciting is what racing should be. God I miss those days..
I just don’t understand. Yeah I know SAftEy but everyone misses the days where the cars where relatable and the racing was actually *racing* not just follow the leader. Current Supercars have absolutely zero soul. And they wonder why no one watches anymore
Ahhh, the classics! When the great race really was "THE GREAT RACE"! Mustangs and Camaro's make it look like NASCAR.... can't watch it. Give me Aussie made muscle please!👍🏽
In the day simply the best years at the mountain ,now too many rules all run the same transmissions brakes etc all carbon fibre panels except the roof. Some guy in the pits on a computer controlling tactics, forced tyre and brake change too much regulation.

What a (re)build that is!
This was when it was a relatable race which is very different from what is presented now.
Larry Perkins built the most reliable race motors at Bathurst,
Ian Tate and Neil Burns also

Great memories of a far better time with far more interesting drivers.
Would have loved to seen Godzilla there.
Oh look! its a bunch of real Australian tin top racers. . . . . Maybe this demo is to show the newer fans of the sport what they look like. . .
Missed a trick not having Murph drive his Kmart commodore in it's 20th lap of the Gods anniversary.😢
Not wrong. I wonder where that car is these days.
@@MitchZero9I think a collector has it

Wish Skaife got out there too and drove one of his 01 or 02 Holdens with boys.

That Vk sounds mad
Ye ol’ dunny doors 😎
richo and skaife got lucky given the car ended up crashed coming out of forest elbow...
Fk Skaife loves the sound of his own voice
Whatever
Jealous
he really does...
only the most dopey of dudes can hear a guy as accomplished as Mark regale some stories during a sunday cruise and get mad about it.
YEAH A WHAT A DRIP HE IS
Cloud Rabbit 4:58
Would be good to see Skaife in the golden child VX and Murphy in the 03 Kmart VY. Next year hopefully.
Who was driving the VK?
James Brock

More of a holden display than anything

theres a reason why only these cars were picked... 10, 20, 30, and 40th Anniversary..the only odd one out was CL in the 2006 falcon..
Typical skaife didn't say a word about the ford or mustang
I hate motorsport camera work
They need to hire the NBA camera crew fr
