that would have been awesome!!! hes a great bloke that one... i met him once and he told me one of Brockys driving secrets that he passed on to him. i dare say hes told that story to other fans, but he told me to keep it secret.... soo 🤐🤐🤐
I remember watching the 2006 Bathurst highlights all the time. I even got to meet Lowndes when he was at an Autobarn in 2018 and he signed my dads “live in ‘96” poster (also signed by Brock), which was a special moment
I'm commenting on purpose because I ran into this man and his wife... He is such a lovely human. No ego... Maybe a little timid if anything. His eyebrows are real though. Thats how I recognised him.😂
When I was six years old, I saw him race for the first time. And then I saw him smile. When anyone asked who my favourite driver after that was: LOWNSEY!
i loved him as a kid till he went to ford.... but started loving him again with the switch back to Holden.... however i still kind of supported him during his ford years, just like i still support Reynolds even tho hes ford now. Sometimes you just cant help but to follow the driver rather than the brand
His 2018 win should be in here, stalked Reynolds for a crazy amount of laps, broke him down mentally and physically… old bull over the young bull… Was one of his best
It is, its #6 Was at the bottom of the mountain that day, and the crowd went nuts when he passed Reynolds, and almost every lap after when he passed by. It was my first bathurst and easily the best
@@ajclarky888 I just re watched it. I must have been distracted, yes #6…. How good was it, they should have showed some of the laps he was chasing. I watched it at home, remember seeing him gaining on Reynolds lap after lap after lap.. it was awesome and great race to end his run… think, between 06 and 18 he won 6 Bathurst’s, average of 1 every 2 years… what a legend.. King of The Mountain for me.
No current day heroes, legends or role models to celebrate, so this failing and irrelevant category resorts to dragging up the past to try and suck us in. Without Lowndes, Holdens and Falcons we are left with tarted up stockcars driven by bland professional athletes.
My memory of Craig Lowndes is him randomly stealing some of my snake lollies at Oran Park when I was a kid. Made my day 😀
If we could wind back time would you throw him the whole lot? 😄

Perth 2016, he dismantled them all with deadly precision. That car was so fast that day.
What a race, what a career, what a legend.
The fact that there was a 0.5 second margin at the end of the 1st brock trophy is just brilliant! Brocky was all over it that day! 05🏁

I loved Lowndes such a legend
I do quite miss Matty Whites commentary as well
A Legend in Motorsport not just Australia 🇦🇺 and Legend everywhere
I remember him doing a voiceover in a cartoon series called “Roary the racing car” for a V8 supercar character called Conrod.

@@the_real_bin_chicken This is why I've only ever loved drivers...never teams. Loyalty is less painful to a person than to a brand.
@@walover165 damn straight... and havnt us holden fans found that out the last few years, eh.
Nobody hates Lowndes ❤
True
Except Natalie
@@obiemichaels9675did he divorce her?

I remember Craig coming to the Newcastle burnouts comps a few times. Some guy use to give him his VC brock to tear up.
True legend of the sport.
what a wonderful man And champion 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆 God bless you and your family Warren and Ingrid Melbourne Australia
the iconic holden drivers best moment was in a Ford
No wins from 1996, that was his breakout season.
Probably because it's before it was called supercars
Buenos momentos y muy buen piloto 👍👍🇪🇦🇦🇷
