2014 will forever be my favourite. Coming from last..twice. All the technology available could not give Jamie one more litre. Chaz slowly closing the gap and just had to push him to use fuel. At the top of Conrod, Chaz knew he had him. Kept his composure and enjoyed the moment.
13 and 14 were up there with the best in living memory. God I miss the days of The falcon versus the commodore. It was always for sheep stations as a fan. So many fond memories.
Name a better sight than 2 drivers in a Holden and a Ford, engines screaming across the top of the mountain after 6+ hours driving the wheels off the car right up against the fence on the last lap over the top of the mountain as the sun goes down with the fans on their feet going nuts.
The Supercars RUclips channel announced over 12 months ago that they would be uploading ALL races including Bathursts from 1997 to 2014. Why have they stopped doing this ?
Chas must have had no rubber left on those rears. And bloody Paul Morris. My mate was big Kev's main pit girl who organised the pit girls for events during the seasons. Didn't win a race for kevvy and won with Chas in a Ford. Funny old world
@@duncancameron5468 Opel is owned by Stellantis now. The major shareholder is the Italian Agnelli family, known from the Fiat company. The Peugeot family, the Chinese Dongfeng, and the French government are also shareholders. Not GM anymore, so Holden cannot buy the body of the Insignia from Opel anymore. But Vauxhall of UK is still owned by GM. So the present Insignia body is delivered by Vauxhall. Next year it will be the Chevrolet Camaro. So the battle between GM and Ford will remain.
@@TheMatadrum lol I even remember when they received the biggest reward in racing history for spotting all that debris and appropriately slowing down the other drivers under a yellow, could've been dangerous and I know I'll always look back and remember fondly how penske used his time in the sport to show us all compassion concentration and concern for other teams and drivers at such events. I am so glad they showed such longevity and commitment to our sport too, you couldn't say they were only here for a couple of titles or a driver that's for sure.
I know that it was "sort-of" staged, but the Moffat/Bond finish should have ranked somewhere in the top-10. Most of the close-finishes were as a result of a safety-car, which grouped the leaders, allowing for a final sprint to the end. I think the big Fords were before safety-cars created the end-sprint.
@@didgereemedia194 From memory, something like 3 laps. Modern racers have become far more reliable, but that doesn't take from the fact that without safety-car intervention, most races would be won by the length of Conrod.

But it wasn't a fight for the Win, Moffatt gave the order for Colin Bond to stay behind. Sorry, that cannot be qualified as a close finish. That was a setup

2014 and 2006 were some of the best races I've ever seen.
Bathurst is one of the most important races of the year for me. Supercars are just excellent and the future looks bloody bright.
Even though i am from Europe,i love this race and watch it every year with enthusiasm 😊
The FG falcons vs VE/VF commodores is probably the best years of V8 Supercars
Can't wait for Bathurst
When?
@@hiemabedrog 6th -9th October

Best race of the year. Delivers every time
V8's are best Motorsport on the Planet since old DTM died. Respect from Germany Mates ! Cheers !

I absolutely loved the 2012 race, it’s a shame David couldn’t get the win 😢
Should of sent it I think if he was in that situation now he would win it
I'm glad he finally got the win in 2017
Just imagine if whincup had pulled off the move lowndes managed on bowe many years ago

"sort of" is the understatement of the century about that finish
I wish you guys used the Mike Joy commentary for 2011.
