    Scheduled already for a fractional co2 laser treatment ! Had a sudden breakout last june 2022 and it was the worst breakout I've ever had!!! Nodular and cystic acne all over my face 🥺 checked with a derma and so happy for my derma for helping me have better skin, but due to my cystic acne back in june, it left some scarrings on my face and my derma recommended this to me. Took me a while to decide but after watching doc's vid now, I've finally given it a go! May it be expensive for me but for the sake of achieving the skin that I want, I'll do it! The incidence of Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation increases if you had sun exposure prior to the treatment but it doesnt happen all the time. If it does, it usually resolves on its own on average 3-4 months and there are creams that you can ask your practitioner to give you to nake them resolve faster.

    Is it true that the scars will resurface again without maintenance of constantly getting co2 lazer treatment

    • @irenegaile
      @irenegaile  5 месяцев назад

      Depressed scars, which are a result kf lack kf collagen once healed, often worsen with age because as we age, we lose collagen. That is why it is advisable to have maintenance treatments after a series of scar remodeling procedures.

    I've been dealing with acne and deep scars more than 5 years already.. May I ask if Erbium laser is more powerful than C02?

    • @irenegaile
      @irenegaile  Год назад +3

      They are both ablative lasers that work by injuring the skin to stimulate collagen remodeling. ErYAG has higher affinity to water than CO2 and doesnt coagulate the skin. But more important than what they do to the skin is the skill of the person doing the procedure, the machine that will be used on you, your skintype , type of scars and how your skin wjll respond to the treatment. Best to have a conversation with a doctor whom you trust, who has done several treatments using the laser that will be used on your and who knows how to handle complications should they happen :)

      I always give post-procedure take home creams but they dont have to be that expensive. Thats why I also always document my patients - i take good before and after photos.
