Hi! I have severe KP on both my arms and I have been using lactic acid, urea, recently tretinoin and I’ve seen a 70% decrease, thanks so much Doc!

@@hanab9293 I use dermalac 12% lactic acid lotion, azeliac acid 15% (finacea prescription), a gentle retinol serum, urisec 22 (22% urea), and niacinamide sometimes

Hi Doc. I think i this thing on my skin is KP. I did checkups na with few dermatologist and the treatment doesn't seem to work. I'm still taking Montelukast that was prescribed by the previous dermatologist. It is very itchy especially at night.
Montelukast? for KP or for something else? If that's the only think you are taking then your KP will definitely not improve. Maybe you need to see your derma again. KP is usually itchy because it's dry.

There used to be nutraplus 10% urea. Not sure if still available. Baka meron dn online
After I wax or epilate my legs I get these brown dots in the hair follicles even though the skin is super smooth. I have been using ammonium lactate 12% which reduced it a lil. Should I keep using it or try glycolic acid too?
If what youre using is already working, i suggest you stick to it, though i have to be honest, Ive never tried ammonium lactate before. let me read about it more

good day po dra. ask ko lang po kong anong magandang gamitin para da mga 11 years old like cetaphil or lactacid?? maraming salamat po dra.
11 year olds without skin issues dont need anything more than a gentle cleanser (cetaphil, physiogel, ceradan, aveeeno, dove etc), sunscreen when outdoors. Moisturizers only if they have dry skin.

Doc meron ako nito since I was highschool hindi naman siya makati pero pansin ko wala siya tubo ng buhok. Dark color siya small hole itsura.

I have this on my arms when I was a kid but when I reached my teenage years my stomach began to develop it as well. Is this normal po doc?
stomach is not a common location for KP, it could be something else like rough skin or folliculitis. best to have a consultation :)
@@irenegaile Hi po Doc. I also had my first kp when i was just 12 years old then now im already 28 i still have it. The worst part is it's all over my body already. It's not itchy at all but it makes me uncomfortable if i wear sleeveless or shorts. :(

In most individuals it resolves by the time you reach your 30s-40s.

Oh we do a lot of laser procedures in the clinic -- hair removal, skin toning, resurfacing, lasers for pigemntation, tatoo removal, lasers for vascular lesions, laser reusrfacing etc

I learned that this happens when the hair follicles get blocked causing bumps. Is it true that IPL or hair removal lasers would help prevent KPs after getting rid of bumps and pigmentation? Yes, laser hair removal and even IPL can help with the pigmentation. With the bumps i find that exfoliants work better :)

Hmm i suggest a consultation, usually KP occurs in the upper outer arms, legs and buttocks, on the face but not in the UA and chest area. I suggest a consultation :)

Doc, I’m a morena but my kp is very noticeable sa arms kasi they appear lighter than my skin tone. What should I do po? I’m currently using amlactin only.
For me effective naman cya although baka kulang. I recommend you consult para maassess ung severity ng KP mo and madagdagan ung treatment.
I used apple cider vinegar diluted with water and It somewhat helps

@@irenegaile I used cotton ball to apply it to my upper arm. Basically my KP is not that severe it is just like brown little spots and white little bumps on my upper arm. I used to apply it in the morning before I take a shower and apply a moisturizing lotion after.

Are buff puffs good for this condition when bathing
U can use them occasionally but just don’t overdo it as it can actually make it worse. I recommend exfoliating and keratinizing lotions containing AHAs, Urea etc

Hi doc I have chicken skin on my both arms. Then, nangati po ang skin ko at rough sya then lumabas nalang po sya sa balat ko parang rushes. And my derma advised me to used hydrawhite lotion and dermasoap for my skin to lessen the irritation. Sinabihan nya din po ako na wala pong cure ang KP. So kailangan ko pong gumamit ng mga mild soap or hydrating soap doc. As I observe naman po maganda po yung binibigay nya na mga gamot at soap.

Hindi ipl ang treatment for that. Ung mga minention ko na moisturizers sa video un dapat. Pero mas mabuti mag consult na para sure na Kp talaga yan at mabigyan ng tamang treatment.

I personally don't think so. Gluta is an antioxidant.
There is no direct role for antioxidants in the management of KP.

Mam, is coconut oil good for keratosis pilarasis. Mam I found a foot cream with 20% urea and 1 % salicylic acid will it help me with kp.
you can try the 20% urea and 1% SA and then add coconut oil on top

I used to have it near my elbow that when someone try to link arm with me he will feel it. hahaha I managed to clear the area with the cheap RDL baby face solution number 1(most likely bec it has salicylic) but I noticed that it's bumpy again, that same area. 😕Well, maybe I shouldn't be bothered since we broke-up anyway.

Doc yung lotion po ba na contains UREA like sebamed repair lotion, safe po ba sya sa breastfeeding mom? Lumala po sa akin nung nagbuntis po ako hanggang ngayon.
If you ask me yes, just make sure to apply it on the affected areas and iwasan mo nalang na malagyan c baby :)

Right now my dermatologist prescribed me glycolic toner and heliocare sunscreen in the morning and at night-antibiotic toner, (mwf-epiduo)(tthss-adapelene),radiance night cream for my pimple marks and teen derm moisturizer, naglessen na po pimples q bt naging rough texture na parang dry at may itchiness s ibng parts ng face q,rough texture esp. In my forehead ang upper cheeks, pls. Do help me mam

hi doc, may kp ako sa both legs since 2010, mas lumala siya ngayon kase before lumalabas lang siya after kong magshave ng hair sa legs. ngayon kase nasa mag 6months na kong di nagshashave ng hair sa legs pero mas marami siya ngayon saka itchy siya saka yung iba masakit kapag hinahawakan. ano po bang dapat ipahid? Emollients, humectants and exfoliants -- products containing AHAs, BHAs, urea and ceramides. But, best to consult parin in my opinion.

Been suffering for more than 13 years. I dont even remember how my arms looked liked without it. The frustrating thing ever.🥺
They often resolve when you get older. For now it's using a combination of moisturizers in the form of humectants and exfoliants
