I saw this van parked outside of the Cricket Lounge, in Ashland, Massachusetts, at an Aerosmith club show in the early 70's. There were maybe 20 to 30 people there! Just about the same month my wife saw it at a free Areosmith concert in Franklin Park, Boston. She and her best friend sat on the edge of the stage, with just a few other people wandering by that afternoon.

Loved hearing Steven say “they were lucky .” That means SOOOOOOOO much to a guy like me who didn’t get to “live the dream “ but does still get do what we all love...
I’ve spent nearly 40 years in the business. Always behind the board when I was younger.
And now on the stage after I retired from pro touring.
It’s been a great life I’ve worked with many great performers. (Never these guys 😔)
    And I don’t regret a single moment !!!!
Thanks Steven ,sometimes we all need a reminder , that just because we didn’t get rich and famous it doesn’t mean we didn’t touch the hearts and souls of others.

@Diamond Lou Great thoughts. I, too, have been earning a living for the last 40 years in the "biz" performing and, although I never snagged that "brass ring", like you, I am blessed to still have people enjoying my shows and paying me at the end of the night. Not an easy business but a great one, for sure. I'm 58 and will be on stage a total of 19 hours in the next 4 days. I still love it!

I know Pete “King Kong Beat” De Poe, Redbone’s original drummer, and he told me how there were guys that were better than him, but Lady Luck didn’t grace their presence. It’s that simple. But he also told me that you have to be ready (Practice!) whenever, if ever, she arrives, or you blow your only opportunity. (BYW: Pete’s book, “King Kong Pete” is available at Amazon.)

From 1993 to 2005 I lived in the small fishing town of Situate Massachusetts. All the Aerosmith guys lived within five miles of me. It blew me away; Here were rock and rock and roll royalty and they seemed the same as every other hard working blue collar townsfolk. We'd see Steven at the diner or Brad at the hardware store and they were never anything but good hearted regular guys. I think we all coveted the fact that WE had the bad boys of rock hangin' with us. No one bothered them, but they were never bothered to say hi, talk a bit. Want a picture? No problem. Just grounded and genuine great human beings. They didn't act like the rock stars they are. They just fit in.

Any musician who’s ever road dogged can relate to this. And I really loved how they all climbed in like it was 2am after a gig and they sat down in their spots as if to go to the next show. Of course there would have been guitars, drums, amps, PA and lights stuffed in there too.

I saw the episode where they discovered the van on a trailer, in bad condition, but recoverable. I needed RUclips to see the finale. Mike and Frank do tremendous work, preserving Americana( and I am not American, but love Americana) and historically American important items. Two men to be very proud of.
