UPDATE: I have made a 2022 version of this video. Correction to video: The Dual Sport 1 actually uses a freewheel, not a cassette. Cassettes are typically lighter, more expensive, and more upgradable.
For a freewheel I think the bike is a bit expensive. I understand this is intended to be commuter bike with some light mountain biking. The configuration seems perfect for a gravel bike.
I mean is this a deal-breaker? In the market now and have gone as far as creating a spreadsheet to sort out all the differences. I think I have OCD! Mechanical vs hydraulic. Tourney vs Acera etc. It's making me crazy! The best part? I can't even find any of these bikes b/c of the pandemic.
I just bought a DS 3 and love it. I already own a 2nd gen Domane SLR6 and a 2012 Madone. I got the DS for 3 reasons. 1. Riding with my wife when she rides her Townie. My other two bikes are just too fast plus I have to get all kitted up to ride them, so easier spur of the moment type riding with the Mrs. 2. I like just deciding to ride a bike in the way I did as a kid, just hop and ride around for a while...the DS is great for that. 3. Gravel, dirt roads, and light trails. I don't have an interest in technical mountain biking but I do like to buzz down fire roads, gravel roads, and the like. If it weren't for 1 & 2 I would have just gotten a gravel bike. For me the DS satisfies many of my personal requirements. Its a fun bike that isn't too fussy...just hop on a go for a spin.
I bought a 2021 DS1 after not riding a bike for over 20 years and I fell in love with cycling. I’ve had it for a little over 2 months now and have put almost 500 miles on it.
I agree! I haven’t ridden a bike in around 15 years and when I jumped on the DS2 today it just felt so natural and right. Before riding that I tried a Talon 1 and a Roam 4. Roam 4 because they didn’t have any other Roam, was more just for a feel and for me the DS blew them both out the water. Kind of regret not trying the Marlin though as that was on my list as well. But after riding the DS I kind of forgot about it 😅 Can’t wait till I pick it up tomorrow!
*Looked at a lot of options for getting my **Latest.Bike** . Great find in SAVA. Super light, nice components, really good value as it comes with many options only found in much higher priced bikes.*
I have a 29er like the Marlin, but put on skinnied-down 40mm tires with a more road-friendly tread. This has proven to be the perfect combination for me: efficient for on-road but with a better suspension to handle rougher trails when I want to.
First time viewer. This video was awesome! I own a Marlin 5, and bought it on a whim, just because I love bikes! (Bike #5) I am so glad I did! It is such a good road fitness bike. I can’t get over how FAST it is on pavement. I ride my Marlin on 25-35 mile rides through our park & river bike paths, and always extend my ride up to the Friant Dam here in Fresno, California. It’s a bit of a tank up the hills, but the gearing is low enough to make it up! I just love it. A great all-around bike for literally anyone!
Once again, great vid. This is exactly what I do with the customers in the store. Show the DS first, then sell them on the Marlin 5 or 6. The Marlin 6 is a great deal for $650. All the gears you need to ride on road and off. Plus you can actually use it for trail riding. However, after showing my customers the Marlin 6, I usually end up selling them the 2021 Roscoe 6. A little more money but so much value. Tubeless tires, dropper seatpost, bigger tires, better suspension, 1x drivetrain, etc. Thanks again for a great vid.
@@nomaanalwi9495 just fine. It's still a bike. It will go wherever you go. I don't think I'd want to commute 20 miles a day on it, but it will do it. And comfortably.
Great detailed video. The Marlin series is the best value under $700. Every single part can be upgraded. I'm pleased with how rugged my Marlin 6 is in all weather especially rain and snow. Its a great hill climbing bike too. This bike has made me physically stronger and a better rider. I would highly recommend the Marlin series.
I bought the marlin 7 2019. I bought a set of the narrow gravel tires to change out for the type of riding. Making my marlin a true dual sport in my opinion.
How is the narrower set working for you? I have a marlin 6 2017 and looking at used Dual Sport 1 2020 for 575.00 as my second bike. I may just slap on some narrow gravel tires on my Marlin and call it a day...
@@trackmedixuk I am by no means racing but in my opinion they corner better, accelerate faster and it is easier to maintain speed for longer distances than the knobby tires.
@@santillanmusic sorry missed the comment. The gravel tires hold up great. Long pavement will chew up the knobs on your dirt tires. Mine are bontrager gr1 team issue 700×40. You will need a different tube to fit the gravel tire as also. But at the cost of a little extra work the tires are cheaper and take less space than a second bike.
@@buddy7136 I have the Marlin 6 but am thinking about returning it for the Duel sport 2. The marlin seems to be really slow, doe's not maintain speed and the seat is like sitting on a brick.
I wanted a dual sport, but found a 2021 Marlin 7 in stock 5 hours away. Got on the phone as soon as the shop opened up and paid em for it. Looks like I'll be taking a road trip Saturday!
I was lucky enough to find the last Marlin 7 2021 in Bogota last thursday, seems the bike frenzy is worldwide.... After 75 kms at plain pavement today I feel the 28T is way small if you intend wether commuting or go 60% road 40% on trails as this is my case nowadays... Some sales guy told me to shift to X caliber 8....
I'm torn. The video convinced me when I watched earlier this week I should get Dual Sport when I was fully in on MTB. I probably ride trails 10% of time. From reading through the comments it looks like people prefer Marlin for all usage. Help
@@aroindustries4895 did you decide on either? I'd say go for the Marlin, which is probably better to ride on pavement than the DS is to ride on rough terrain. I went back and forth as well. Planning on a Marlin 7, just waiting on it to become available.
Thanks for the vid. Sure helped me make a decision... I'm looking to upgrade from my current hybrid and wasn't sure if I wanted to go with another hybrid vs full mountain bike that also rides well on the road. I'm a casual, fitness rider, and I don't go on any trails (yet); I just do laps around town but it can get bumpy in certain areas. I prefer hybrid's over road bikes because it's a bit more comfortable & robust. However (like I mentioned), these bikes are so similar that I wasn't sure if I could get away with getting the Marlin for the off-road capabilities but still using it primarily on the road. After watching this vid, think I'll stick with hybrid and go with the Dual Sport.
I commute to work on the Marlin 5, 14.5 miles one way 29 miles a day about a 1 mile stretch is trails .....but mostly road travel. Yes even in December....here in Wisconsin. The dual sport wouldn't make it in winter here. Thankfully so far this year I have only faced ice...no snow, but up to 35 mile an hour head winds. Which adds to the commute time.....lol.
@@TalalipopMTB I have my Marlin set up with Rock Brother grips, profile design bar ends, aluminum pedals with toe cages, lights, 2 water bottles, rear rack, trunk bag, upgraded suspension seat, kickstand, lock, and handle bar extender for a later GPS unit, mirror.
Your videos are excellent. You cover the nuts and bolts without getting stuck in the weeds or offering too many opinions or preferences. Great job parleying the comparison groupings so they make sense, as well. Thank you Sir.
Great video. You answered everything without talking about specs that we dont need to know about to make a good decision. In my case, I want a marlin 6, but need a DS3. I ride mostly on roads but like how strong mountain bikes are when I need it. Getting a marlin 6. Thanks again
I am going to upgrade from a bmx bike to a mountain bike and this review really helped me after my friend told me to get hybrid. Think i'm getting mountain
This review is most timely. I previously was a roadie for over a decade and decided to try the Trek Marlin 5 because new Road Bikes are now out of my price range. The Marlin is obviously heavier but smoother and I don’t have to look for every nook and cranny in the roadway - but-it-was-expectedly-slow. The Dual Sport or FX Sport 4 ($1,799.99) and FX 6 ($2,799) are both Carbon, have more speed and is somewhere in the middle on smoothness but you are in a much more upright position. Choices, choices!
I work in a bicycle 🚲 shop part time and inherited a 2016 Dual Sport with no wheels. It has some minor bottom frame damage but is mainly cosmetic and I've just spent the afternoon using some professional car body filler and paint. Not perfect but looks good and will be hidden by the front chain set. In all I'm spending about £200 to restore this neglected bike to get it back on the road. The 2020 module is not much different than the 2016 in terms of spec. Your video was very helpful for me and it will be perfect for my needs 👍🙏
Since you work in a bike shop, you might be able to answer this. I have a 21 dual sport 3 and want to upgrade the drive components (chain, sprockets etc) to the 22 dual sport 3 1 x10. Any idea if this could be done and how expensive it would be?
Thank you for your videos! They are well done. The Trek Marlin 5 was a good bike for me as i started MTBing again. The road or paved trails it was very good in speed and fun. On medium off road trails it was a nice ride as well. It only lasted about a year and the crank and derailer started to break regularly. They are also hard to replace because of the 8/9 cassette is rarer and only the Acera level offer replacement for the tourney... you cant put on a Deore without replacing the cassette. The frame is excellent though as well as the seat and breaks. I would get the highest marlin next time as a beginner bike because the lower end drive train components are not worth it in heavy use.
You’re welcome! Unfortunate to hear about those parts wearing out, but i’m glad you’re enjoying the bike in general despite that! I was planning to upgrade my drivetrain eventually as well when things got worn out.
I'm torn. The video convinced me when I watched earlier this week I should get Dual Sport when I was fully in on MTB. I probably ride trails 10% of time. From reading through the comments it looks like people prefer Marlin for all usage.
Yep I ride trails about 25% 75% on road and my 2020 Marlin 5 works......on my other mountain bike I have done river crossing almost at full speed where the trail is separated by a river....the parks department has buried logs on the river bottom in shallows to give you that traction.
The Marlin series can take a lot of punishment on or off road. Its a all weather bike as well. I would highly recommend the Marlin series for work and play. This is my review after having a Marlin 6 since 2017.
Depends. Dual sport is way faster on road. If you plan on mire road then trail the dually is the way to go. Trail riding more, marlin. Just from my test drive the other day, it was night and day difference.
I'd say with the marlin for the same price you get a wider range of activities. It is true that dual sport weighs less but it is also due to the tires mostly. The freeweel cassette only has 14 teeth at its fastest, while the marlin has 12 teeth, seems little different but it is a big difference. Also you can always buy better cassettes that are much more durable and lighter than freewheel cassettes. It has hydraulic brakes which are generally better than mechanical ones, because you basically need to adjust them periodically and if you do commuting it can be a bit boring. Personally I also find the marlin cokpit an advantage. Its levers are separate and in the dual sport not. In case of failure, you have to change two pieces instead of one. With the marlin cokpit you can always replace them one by one even with different brands. The same thing happens if you want to change to a monoplate, you only need to remove one lever. Even with the marlin you can change the tire for a thinner tire, reducing its weight equally and adapting it to the road for commuting and with dual sport, I doubt it. I would say this in general: Only if you want a bike to use casually would you choose the dual sport. If you want a bike for the future with a range of uses beyond commuting, the marlin is much better because of its better compatibility. Summary. Dual sport: Use only for commuting and not much else. Marlin: Use for commuting and a little bit more . By the way great video, I hope you keep doing more so that you transmit the information very nicely. Gracias!
Yes, I agree. I normally use (27.5*1.75") slick tyre for downtown commuting and swap back the original (27.5*2.4") mtb tyre for the weekend trail on my marlin 7. Absolutely loving it. ^^ Greeting from Yangon, Myanmar.
Thanks so much for sharing your expertise. I am trying to get back into bicycling and had no idea it was this complicated. As kids we just got on a bike and had fun with it. In fact, we didn't always have brakes at all and if you didn't want people to ask to ride your bike you just took the seat off and rode it standing up. Just hope to goodness you don't forget that you don't have a seat LOL!! Once I go back to work I intend on commuting with my bike but I also want the versatility to be able to go on some trails as well so understanding more about the Marlin made it more appealing to me. Being that both have suspension what does that entail as far as maintenance is concerned?
@@swift7169 Well, the only major difference between the two bikes is basically that one has mechanical and one has hydraulic brakes. However, if you're looking for simplicity in maintenance, I'd say Marlin 5 with the cassette. The freewheel (which is not the same as the cassette) is much simpler to change but much harder to clean. In fact you should not put water inside it because the grease in the bearings will be lost. Also the hydraulic brake does not need much maintenance, just replace the brake pads and fluid at least every year. The mechanical brake should be checked monthly for pads and cables, especially if they are exposed. I would say that the Marlin 5 is more reliable.
Cristian Hernández very useful comment as I have ordered a Marlin 6 and was wondering about replacing the knobby tires to accommodate riding mostly on road. Much appreciated.
Me and my aunt bought both of these bikes...I was in the market for a road or gravel bike so i got the ds1 bc i am using it strictly for fitness on rough surface slag asphalt roads w some potholes and patchwork areas...its the best route around me for fitness w a number of steep hills coming and going...my aunt bought the 650 dollar marlin whatever # it is idk....I'm interested to see how they perform...we have to wait for them to be assembled and go pick them up this week...I've been doing the 6 mile route for a month now on a 15 yr old 50$ Walmart schwinn so I'm sure the cheapest thing at Walmart present day is prolly alot better than what I've been suffering on these past weeks let alone something like these treks...I'm pretty excited ab it
Great Video, Thanks for the breakdown! I own a 2017 Marlin 6 and test rode a 2020 Dual sport 1 recently, and the DS1 felt easier to ride. The geometry on the DS1 felt better for my body type.
DS1 is not for off road, especially if path is wet or so. Tires are not for that type of terrain. M6 is different player, but lack smoother ride on pavement.
A few months ago I got the 2020 version dual sport 3. And its comfortable on road and not much going off road . And punctured my tube 3 to 4 for times 😂😂.
Thank you. Really appreciate your efforts and time for making this video. It is really helpful. One suggestion: Please include a verdict section, so that viewers can get to know what you personally think about the bikes you cimparing. Thanks again. 🔥
thank you for your videos, after watching your videos I will go for Marlin 5. I'm just focusing on commute road (usually I ride for 30km every night) - but the street I'm riding they have a lot of speed bumps + potholes. I think that wheels on dual sport will be intolerable for those bumps and holes above
I've been seriously stumped on whether to get the verve 1 disc, the Marlin 5 or the dual sport 1. Thank you for this video because I think I just ruled out the ds-1.
If you get a verve at least get the verve 2, has suspension in the seat and adjustable handlebars. If you get dualsport, at least get the dualsport 2. It has a lockout for front suspension so when on a flat road it rides a lot better, and better components.
Maybe over a month ago I got the Trek Marlin 5 in same color as you shown the Aquatic Blue. Bikes amazing. Bur my one down fall is that you can't upgrade the drivetrain to a 1x12. For me to do that I have get a rear rim with ei5h an 8 speed cassette. But again bikes is amazing. I do go off road on and handles good after a few adjustments to shocks
Great video! I've been looking for a direct comparison video between the 2 styles and you provided it! To be more specific on the models, though, I'm looking directly at the DS2 vs Marlin 6. Initially, I thought I was going to just be primarily a rails to trails / street rider w/the occasional off-road dirt trail but this summer has taught me I may need a little more than just a road-centric bike. My biggest concern, however, is comfort as I have some back and neck issues and my current mtb showed me that leaning forward for too long just causes a lot of pain there as well as on my wrists. I guess I won't know which is the better choice till I actually get to test either out but I've been leaning toward the DS2. I just need a bike shop near me to actually get some bikes in. Last time I called, they told me they weren't getting new ones till August. Your video has me getting the phone ready to call and see if any shipped early! Thanks again for the vids! Great content!
Thank you so much! And yeah it’s really unfortunate but my local bike shops are pretty picked clean at the moment too. But definitely test riding both is crucial to figuring out exactly how they feel. I appreciate the comment and support!
@@TalalipopMTB I went w/the DS3 primarily because I was able to get it immediately despite having to travel over 2 hours away to the store that had it! Love the bike and after sitting on a Marlin for a few minutes, glad I made the decision I did. It's been a great bike and I'm still watching your other comparison videos. Very informative! An idea to think about for future stuff would be accessories or upgrades you can do w/different series of bikes. For example, I'd like to look at getting slightly wider tires for my bike someday but I'm not sure what the max would be that would fit. Anyway, thanks again! Keep up the great work!
Hi, I can’t make my mind I’m confused to get dual sport 3 or Marlin 7. I’m not going long distance just for fun around neighborhood. I want to do some light long distance like 10 miles for Exercise. Which bike should I get please help me. Thanks
Talalipop MTB I’ve built company’s and have done product marketing for the automotive aftermarket for the last 30+ years, and I would’ve been super happy to find a creator of your caliber. Keep up the good work.
Just a couple thoughts... btw, good video. I noticed there was a extra port NOT USED on the right side of the frame of a few of the bikes you were showing... that...HAD a front shifter. Is that routing for a dropper post? Thought 2. I was considering the new 2021 DS 4.... but Trek Chat told me... I couldn't upgrade the fork for a regular Mtn. Bike fork with more travel. I guess what I'm looking for is... a Mtn. Bike... with more higher speed road like gears. I also really prefer a 1X drive train. I've been looking at the Salsa Journeyman 700c.... it comes with 38c tires but can fit 51c. But it has no front suspension... it's considered a bike packing rig. I'll have to look at the Marlin closer, now that this video has turned my head a little.
William R The Marlin also has very limited fork upgrades as it has a straight headtube, the Roscoe has a taper and a 1x drivetrain. You’re not going to find a Trek mtb with the road gears you want, along with better fork compatibility. Trek bikes that come with road like gears, won’t have a tapered headtube. Also road gears are almost always a 3x drivetrain to give you more range. In my opinion you have to choose between the marlin and the ds.
Yeha usually there is an extra port when the bike has a 1x drivetrain since it doesn’t need a second shifter for the front derailleur, as there is none. But yes Trek usually does include another extra port for dropper post routing as well! So sometimes there’s 2 extra holes.
No matter which bike you choose the DS or the Marlin you can always switch the tires and put mountain bike tires and road bike tires on either because the rim size is the same
@@kathryngeorgakopoulos6722 in fact I have found using two different tire sizes is better A smaller one on the front and a larger one in back usually within 3mm. The back tire will give you more traction and will act as a rear shock while the front will give you a more aerodynamic profile. Hope that helps
I have two purpose to carry my bike The first which should show good confort while go for long drive like above 100 kelometers in a day and second is to drive and challege some gravel road while go in long drive So does marlin sereis suit at me?
Brilliant review, I was gonna buy 26” for my daughter who’s ~138cm, and got told by bike shop 24” is ideal. Thoughts? Also gonna buy entry mtb for self, Cannondale trail 7 or 8 or Trek, suggestion appreciated. Thanks
Great Videos, Talalipop! I'm completely torn on whether or not to buy a DS3. I wanted the DS4, but I've called every bike shop within several hundred miles and nobody has them. Trek support said there won't be any more stock for 2021. A LBS is getting a shipment of DS3s next month, though. The reason I'm torn is that I'm buying this bike to ride mostly rail-grade trails, which are generally very compacted peat, with a little gravel, but not much. I ride a Diamondback Hybrid on them today, and it works well. If I go the MTB route, I would do the X-Calibur for the better, lighter frame, and replace the wheels with narrower ones, but I'm wondering if the DS3 might be better overall for the type of trails I ride. Thoughts?

Excellent video. I have been waiting months for my local bike shop to get a DS 2, and they just told me it would be approx. another 2 months. They had Marlin 6 bikes available and said they can switch the tires to hybrid tires. I am hesitant to go with Marlin 6 since I will be riding mostly on road/light trails, not doing any mountain biking. Does replacing the mountain tires on the M6 with hybrid tires make it act more like a dual sport? I understand the frame is heavier and handlebars are wider on the Marlin as compared to DS2, so not sure go with the switching tires option or keeping waiting for the DS2? Appreciate any advice. Thanks.
I’ve heard of people switching out the tires and having a great time, but you’re right that if you aren’t doing much trail riding it might not be worth the hassle of having the heavier bike. It will definitely withstand some more abuse though so I think you could go with either and be fine. Dual sport will just be lighter and a bit faster as a result, while the marlin should be easier to control and more rugged.
@@TalalipopMTB Thanks for replying, the info is helpful. I also recently spoke with a Trek salesperson who told me it may not actually be until 2022 until they get more dual sport 2 back in, so seems like I should go with the option of just switching out the tires to hybrids on the Marlin 6.

However, after showing my customers the Marlin 6, I usually end up selling them the 2021 Roscoe 6. A little more money but so much value. Tubeless tires, dropper seatpost, bigger tires, better suspension, 1x drivetrain, etc.
Thanks again for a great vid.
Thank you! I appreciate your comments as someone who works in a bike store; and I’m glad you’re liking the videos!
I really wish I had got the Roscoe..
My MARLIN is kinda pushing it for what I ride. It was the only hardtail left in March
How's the roscoe for the road?
@@nomaanalwi9495 just fine. It's still a bike. It will go wherever you go. I don't think I'd want to commute 20 miles a day on it, but it will do it. And comfortably.
You said the Roscoe 6 is a little more money? It’s damn double the price of a marlin 6. You must be quite the salesman lol
Thank you!!
Did it make a difference to the speed ?
What did you end up spending for it?
$840...retail pricing
Yep...i run out of gear way too easily. Can only top out at around 25mph on flat ground. Pretty disappointing.
Nice presentation and comparison.Hope to get my Trek Marlin 5 here in the Philippines’s 😃
Thx for the comparison. Now I’m not regretting getting a 2019 Marlin 7 over a DS2.
Neil K Walk why? I’m considering DS4 or a Marlin.
Well this made my decision. Going for Dual Sport over the Marlin.
Glad I could help!
No stocks anywhere
Good choice Hal
If you don't go on ANY trails it should be an obvious decision.
That’s impressive!! Definitely some proof of the marlin’s versatility :D

Thank you too!! I appreciate that a lot :)

Awesome!!
If you can get a 2021 marlin 7
Your video was very helpful for me and it will be perfect for my needs
👍🙏
Since you work in a bike shop, you might be able to answer this. I have a 21 dual sport 3 and want to upgrade the drive components (chain, sprockets etc) to the 22 dual sport 3 1 x10. Any idea if this could be done and how expensive it would be?
I was up in the air on what trek bike these were the 2 i was thinking now i have finally made my mind up because of this review thanks so much.

Jesus what did you go with?
I GOT A TREK 4..
@@Jesus-eb8yk I am planning to get one is it worth it?
I ordered the Marlin 5. Great video.
Thank you :D and good choice!

Marlin: Use for commuting and a little bit more
.
Great comment!! You cleared my confusion. Thanks a lot!!
Cristian Hernández very useful comment as I have ordered a Marlin 6 and was wondering about replacing the knobby tires to accommodate riding mostly on road. Much appreciated.
Me and my aunt bought both of these bikes...I was in the market for a road or gravel bike so i got the ds1 bc i am using it strictly for fitness on rough surface slag asphalt roads w some potholes and patchwork areas...its the best route around me for fitness w a number of steep hills coming and going...my aunt bought the 650 dollar marlin whatever # it is idk....I'm interested to see how they perform...we have to wait for them to be assembled and go pick them up this week...I've been doing the 6 mile route for a month now on a 15 yr old 50$ Walmart schwinn so I'm sure the cheapest thing at Walmart present day is prolly alot better than what I've been suffering on these past weeks let alone something like these treks...I'm pretty excited ab it
Nice!! That should be a fun way to compare those bikes, and yeah they'll both definitely perform better than that bike you have now.
Great Video, Thanks for the breakdown! I own a 2017 Marlin 6 and test rode a 2020 Dual sport 1 recently, and the DS1 felt easier to ride. The geometry on the DS1 felt better for my body type.
No problem!
These videos are awesome! Very precise explanations! As a beginner, thanks a lot!

Thank you. Really appreciate your efforts and time for making this video. It is really helpful. One suggestion: Please include a verdict section, so that viewers can get to know what you personally think about the bikes you cimparing. Thanks again. 🔥
Thank you too! I started doing that in my recent videos and will continue to do that now :)
thank you for your videos, after watching your videos I will go for Marlin 5. I'm just focusing on commute road (usually I ride for 30km every night) - but the street I'm riding they have a lot of speed bumps + potholes. I think that wheels on dual sport will be intolerable for those bumps and holes above
You’re welcome! And that does sound like a good decision :)

Could you do a comparison of the higher end DS and Marlins? Or even the Marlins and the Giant Talons?
incredibly helpful, thank you. It helped in making my decision! (Marlin..)
You’re welcome!!
@@VantagePoint2 I agree. Just spring for the 2021 Roscoe 6. No compromises. Does everything and more.
Yeha usually there is an extra port when the bike has a 1x drivetrain since it doesn’t need a second shifter for the front derailleur, as there is none. But yes Trek usually does include another extra port for dropper post routing as well! So sometimes there’s 2 extra holes.
No matter which bike you choose the DS or the Marlin you can always switch the tires and put mountain bike tires and road bike tires on either because the rim size is the same
Would the speed significantly increase on the Marlin if you put road tires on it?

@@kathryngeorgakopoulos6722 in fact I have found using two different tire sizes is better

Omg why are your videos so good
Aw hahaha thank you!!

@@rbmotwani Ofcourse! And worst case you could get the bike and ride it for a while, and if you don't like it you could probably sell it for a similar price since a lot of people want bikes these days.
@@rbmotwani did you get the marlin 6? Hopefully you did as the prices skyrocketed. I was going to get one in Sept 2019 it was about $550. I said I will research and come back. Covid hit, I came back they told me no bike for 8 months to a year. It's now 2022, that marlin 6 is $850 and more geared to strictly trail now, with its tiny front gear and no derailer.
I found a dual sport while in the shop and fell in love with it. The speed is just so much faster on road and has 2x9 gearing /with lockout suspension. It feels so nice. Now I test drove a new marlin 5 (what was in budget, which went from $450 to 720 since 2020, thanks inflation and demand... Grrrr. And it was way slower on the road. Probably a beast on a trail. Can someone identify the road bike at 3:10 ?
Anyone know what the narrowest tire you can put on a Marlin ? Can you , say switch to a 700c tire ?
Merlin or dual sport? Both are so nice what a tough choice!
I'm still undecided but I bought a Marlin 5 2022 and I'm thinking about replacing it for the Dual Sport 3? I never go too the wood and all my trails are cement or concrete, what you think Talalipop?
Yeah if you are not riding trails I think the Marlin is overkill unless the roads are very rough. You’ll find the dual sport to be faster and less bulky if you’re on the road

Yes a rear rack can be installed on the marlin as it has the proper mounts. I’ve installed them several times myself
Dual Sport 4. Bad ass bike for an all round purpose.
Sure wish I could find a dual sport 4. What’s the next best alternative?

I Love That Color But How About The Specs?
I cant count how manyt times I saw this video and still do not know which bike should I buy :) I love DS, but I am small and do not understand why only MTB-s and Gravel bikes come with 650B wheels (ok I know other manufacturers has cross bikes with that size.) I love all your videos. Thank You!
Which one did you get?
@@TomerBenDavid None of them. Unfortunately in my country I could not get in my size, so I bought a gravel bike and I am not regret it. If I had found I would bought the DS, because it is good enough to bad roads in my town.
@@blackmoonlight_luna gravel bike is it without suspension??
@@TomerBenDavid Yes.
@@blackmoonlight_luna isn't that over bumpy on gravel?
