    How many of you game with speakers? Do you use them for all game types or only certain genre?

      I use a pair of JBL 104 BT's and they are absolutely FAB, just do not push them right against a wall give them a bit of room to breath and they sound great. Push them right against a wall they sound a bit muddy. I use the for everything game wise. One thing that I would call out is I used to haver a pair of Acoustic Q 2020i with an amp on my desk and they are definitely voiced to throw sound out in a room not sit two feet away on a desk. Moving over to proper monitor speakers designed to be listen at a couple of feet away made a huge difference to my ears.

      For FPS games or games with directional audio, I use open back Sennheiser headphones. For games with only stereo sound, I use either Logitech 2.1 speakers or headphones. And for anything else on the PC, I use speakers. Both are connected to a Sennheiser gaming amplifier (GSX 1000) mainly because it makes switching outputs very easy.

      I game with a 7.1 surround setup that cost about £2500. Close miking with OBS noise reduction eliminates any sound from the speakers in the mic when streaming.

    I got these after reviewing every sound test available on youtube, against competitors, with some decent pair of headphones. They seemed the more balanced choice (even against the more boomy 1280). Still I was very surprised about the sound quality, when I got them. With 100$ you get a real, well definined, soundstage and they look pretty nice too. Mine do have rubber feet and they don't slide.

    If you have a bit more room on your desk, I'd suggest going with the R1280 speakers. They sound great as well, and has bluetooth, optical AND co-axial inputs, as well as a remote control, on top of the 2 RCA inputs. You do lose the balanced TRS input that the MR4 offers, but I suspect most gamers won't really miss having that. What's great is that you can easily hook up your game consoles, PC, and have your mobile phone connected via bluetooth, all at the same time. Easily switch between inputs with the remote. Also has a Sub pre-out, so you can easily connect an active subwoofer in future should you want one.

      Careful there about 1280, T version is without bluetooth and optics; afaik, only newest DBS version has optical connection and bluetooth. Difference is around 15USD, so definitely worth to get DBS. I would give different recomendation, 1380 DB has optics and better sound neutrality, 1280 is more about V shape for pop, rap and electronic fans.

    For the little gaming I do my Sony SSCS5 have been fine. I do have headphones but none of the games I play are that directional with sound. For $110 if I didn't have my Sony's (which I got for less but they were on sale) Id have to take a good look at these as edifier makes decent speakers.

    Foam isolator pads will help prevent you pushing them off your desk with your finger.
    Would have been nice if they had Bluetooth.
    BTW: You're not going to hear how THESE speakers sound through YOUR speakers when listening to a RUclips video. You're only going to hear your own speaker's quality. You have to hear them live. 🙄

      I don't have space for large speakers and i'm not that bothered about audio anymore as long as it has some good bass and crisp sound which the Creative ones do. Thing is their is no way unlike a monitor review to know if these would sound better, the same or whatever. Unless i bought them to try i won't know which is annoying. I currently use a 3mm jack cable to hook from my MB's stereo out which has a good onboard audio codec to the 3.5mm aux input on the speakers. Any clue if they would sound better using the same hookup connection i mentioned for gaming ?

    • @Tealc2323
      @Tealc2323 2 года назад

    • @spam4just

      @@Tealc2323 now that’s a thought. How would this be connected?

    • @elbitxo5945
      @elbitxo5945 2 года назад +1

      these are monitors, they are designed to give excellent clear sound just to an specific point where the user is sitting down, because it's professional or semi professional equipment for music producers and sound technicians. Desktop speakers are designed to give sound to a much wider range, so you will hear pretty much the same despite where you are located on the room, usually boosting bass to unnatural levels and not caring at all how close to the real source the sound wave is.
      You can't really compare speakers to monitors, and shouldn't get them unless you plan to be listening always sitting down on the same location and want the sound as close to the real source as possible. For this very same reason, some low end monitors have become popular among gamers, and these MR4 are some of the best under 200$, but they are terrible for multipurpose use.

    This is well-timed as I am looking for some speakers for my PC. However, for PCs these really need a USB input as my PC is some distance from my desk and I want to minimise cabling. And the controls being only on the right-hand speaker is a little problematic both thanks to my desk setup and because I'm left-handed.

    • @cee128d
      @cee128d 2 года назад +1

      @@OscyJack- That isn't completely accurate. I work in audio recording and audio reinforcement and preferred connection from audio gear to/from a computer is nearly 100%. It's more reliable, predictable, and lower noise floor. Sure high end HiFi systems (especially those used by audio philes who don't know their butts from a hole in the ground and think you can actually hear or measure the difference between $200 cables and decent quality $20 cables) still use analog connections, but that is only because there isn't need until you connect to a computer.
