    Hey, great review. I just snapped up a pair of these for my PC and love them. I have attached an Echo Dot 3 to the line in, boom I have Bluetooth connectivity and a smart speaker, with decent sound! That was a massive unexpected bonus for me, really simple controls, no switching sources, if Alexa chimes in it talks over the PC audio, could be a minus, I call it a bonus.

    Would love to see some speakers like these or the Edifier 1280 moded with the little of the Hypex series (not to blow them with excessive power), proper interior treatmen and, if possible, improved crossover.

I’ve been making raves for some time but always relied on someone else becouse of the Soundsystem, so I actually have no Idea about sound systems, my question is, from all systems u can build yourself, is there one u would recommend for a bass intense outdoor techno rave

    I bought these last month, and they are perfect for my needs, exactly what I wanted and at least as good as I was expecting. Using as near field computer speakers, not mixing my own sounds but wanted something clean and clear due to some hearing loss (muffled sounds in one ear), for playing music, watching videos and for work meetings. I've had enough junk speakers over the years to know what bad ones sound like and these are the opposite. I do find I have to tweak my EQ constantly depending on the type of music, have quite a few presets already saved. Their appearance also factored into my decision to get them. I was hoping to find something this good with usb connectivity and even bluetooth if I could find it, but could't pass up the price for these ones. (before this I had bought some sanyun w208s that looked the part but sounded meh and died young, wish I had just gone with something like these first).

    I got a pair for 99 Euro's. Only the volume dial reminds me that these are cheap speakers. It's not a real potentiometer but a digital stepped dial. The steps are too wide and there's leeway between the steps. Really happy with them.

      I have similar feelings about testing treble. It is a practical to see the response because some people are sensitive to brightness while others have hearing loss at higher frequencies.

      They don't have a lot of power and simply can't drive the coils hard enough at low frequency, this is why they are good as near-field monitors but not for filling a room.

      I bought a pair for my son for computer use and I was that impressed by the sound coming from his room that I put them in my main system for a few days and really enjoyed them.
      One small negative for me was the volume control which is notched and at lower levels one click up almost doubles the volume, it would be nice to have a bit more control of the volume but other than that I recommend them for a small space and near field listening.

    Calling these speakers studio monitors is misleading. Their characteristics are not flat! Yes, they are good computer speakers, but its not suitable for music production.

    • @Lon1001
      @Lon1001 6 месяцев назад +1

      These have a much flatter response curve than many other popular near-field studio monitors they compete with... if anything their use as a reference monitor is limited by their lack of headroom, limited dynamic range in the low end and their low power, but as a near field monitor they are as good as you can get in this price range and physical size.

  • @kontoname
    @kontoname Год назад

    Had these and they sound plain horrible.
    They just lack natural reproduction of any sound normal people listen to, since their low end just does not even exist. Even normal voices cannot be reproduced by those, let alone music or anything else.
    Set them up near field, triangle etc. but it won't fix it - these cannot work without substituting the low end.
    Possibly they work for people into violin music or a preference for shrieking high pitched audio - but everyone else needs to combine them with some sort of low end that isn't over the top.

    • @Lon1001
      @Lon1001 6 месяцев назад

      You need some sort of software EQ to get the most out of these... with a flat eq curve they don't sound all that great even when you adjust the bass/treble controls on the back of the amp, however very minimal tweak to get them sounding very good.
