    The best part of watching your old videos is to see that you've always been committed to do your best! Plus your hair cut is waayy better now hahah

    The point of spinning is not for combat.
    The point is to become so comfortable with the staff in uncomfortable situations (spinning) that you are supremely in control and comfortable with normal fighting position, which are fairly simple and straight forward.
    Like all good training, the point is to take you past your comfort zones, not to stay within them.

    Nice job and really fun Sensei! Valuable as coordination and comfort exercises with the jo to facilitate serious study of the suburi and the kumi jo. Additionally, "Train with a light heart" is a wonderful principle to embrace.

    Awesome video. I always wanted to learn this kind of work with Jo. I know only basic spinning which I learned in my club.
    Good work.
    P.S. Letter Ž actually exists in czech, slovakian and polish language (maybe more).

      Really glad to hear you liked the video! There is also a second part if you will find it interesting: ruclips.net/video/iHpxNLpU1D8/видео.html . It is a really good experience to do some Jo spinning. I hope you'll find enough material here.
      Good to know about the Ž letter, now that means not everyone will be confused with our Dojo name :)

    Is this a jo or bo staff?

  • @3AmberScorpions
    @3AmberScorpions 7 лет назад

    Please do learn Saito Sensei Jo as well as Mitsugi Saotome Jo. This is proper Aiki-Jo. What you are showing is not good.

  • @3AmberScorpions
    @3AmberScorpions 7 лет назад

    If it is not martial or functional why are you showing it under the guise of Aikido?

    • @jankajuhasz4554
      @jankajuhasz4554 6 лет назад

      3AmberScorpions this is for getting comfortable with the jo. It's like pre-school for jo fight.

    Don't like to throw the staff out of hands. It is just senseless and dangerous.

      @@MartialArtsJourney I have only just found this video and I think you have done a great job of showing the skill required for staff spinning, and by the way don’t take any notice of the ignorant comments, these people wouldn’t and couldn’t have any thing like the commitment that it takes to achieve a fraction of the skill that you are showing. I follow a great teacher of the jo and bo also escrima stick fighting (Matt Piscuillini) on RUclips and your videos are a real addition to my training.
      Thank You Charles Harris England
