danggg nice find! i always love finding new jet ski builds on youtube. can't wait to see where this goes! (also, just a little tip, a heat gun will get rid of most of the fade on the rear plastic corner pieces)
Thanks for the support, sounds like a fun project. I’ve mainly owned Kawasaki’s this is my first Yamaha. I’ve yet to wrench on a 650 SX but have had a lot of Kawasaki X2s
We’re ready for part 2!! Just bought a 2008. It’s in good shape other than a few rusty bolt under the hood. I can’t wait to see the transformation of this ski. When are you coming out with part 2?
Take the plastic trim pieces off and go over them lightly with your heat gun, it will make them brand new again. Take the plastic trim off of the base of the handle pole and hydro turf it. Remove the chin pad foam and hydro turf the pan.
Just started work on my 2002 Superjet. Exact same color and very similar condition. Hood cover paint is completely gone. Seal is shot. Just getting started. I’d be interested what other issues you run into.
@@brianwalker1111 that will hopefully be in the next episode. Plan to strip the remaining paint fill any imperfections then use automotive paint to repaint. Will definitely be a challenge to match the color.
hi im currently restoring a 2010 Yamaha superset of my own, same blue as yours, currently I have it striped down to the hull only, I really want to give the whole hull a new paint color, but I have no idea how best to do that. I want my Jetski to be white, if you have any pointers or if you would be willing to get in contact please let me know.
I've been searching online for videos to help me the last 4/5 months and your video is perfect, almost a match to exactly what I am doing, except I would like to change colors
@@maverick7756 Hey man I plan on doing a professional paint job using automotive paint products on the hood. I'll be using products and techniques that you could use on the whole jet ski. So stay tuned for the upcoming episodes. I will try to put lots of good technical information into the painting portion to help you out with your project! Thanks for the support!
Gotta love that 3M adhesive remover man; nice shirt by the way 😎
Awesome to see you're working on a Superjet! I also have a 2001, some videos on my channel too :) Rock on!
