Great video! We still haven't ridden a 21+ SJ yet, but I think the 2008-2020 SJ's will forever be our favorite skis of all time! Would be fun to ride with you guys!
Great video kirk!! I miss my fx1 bad. Should of never sold it. I had a 144 pump with a limited 760 in it. It would yank you around that's for sure. My square nose was a 650. Most reliable ski I ha e owned to date and anyone could ride it. Great ski too
I have 1995 Superjet since new. I have to go threw it but still looks mint since it was in the garage when not used. I think it's been 15 years since I rode it. I was thinking should I sell it and buy a new one or do some enhancements to like a Factory Pipe and front sponsens. Once set up, it will be have the best of both worlds with the nostalgic looks and the benefits of an 08+ and more if were comparing to stock 08+
I've been riding stand up jet skis since 1986, I've had kawasaki 550's, a Kawasaki 750, and my current ski is a 2002 Super Jet. I was thinking of buying a new one, but it's 75 lbs heavier, and I'm not sure that extra weight is gonna be so much fun to drag off the beach, or if I will be able to do all the tricks with that heavier ski that I can do with my 2002 model with the lighter 2 stroke engine.
I haven't been riding for long, I think you should consider not being turned off too much by the additional weight. Even though it weighs more maybe the advancements in technology may counteract the weight disadvantage. But hey you got ten fold more experience then me🤪
Hey Kirk, Awesome video! Questiom. The one Square Nose... Do you still own the skis? Did you figure out if the foam was wet in the one ski? If so, Have you re-foamed it yet? Hoping you'd do a video on it!
Yeah I still have them, and actually prefer the characteristics of the water logged one. I wouldn't bother tearing it up for that. I've got a million other projects that would come before doing that.
Sorry for asking.. lol Iv got the same ski. I was searching around the tube.. Looking for other people with the similar ski and same issues. Love your channel. Cheers.@@jetskiaddict
Im torn on trying to decide what to get. I only ever owned the 550SX reed valve and loved how high I could jump it. For someone who wants power out of the hole as well as nimbleness, being able to jump high etc, what ski would you recommend? I heard the FX1 lacks low end punch?
@@jetskiaddict I may need help with my Rickter that I put the 1100 in. Obviously my pump setup isn't right. Bigger pump and more pitch. I asked Cory, but he seemed like he is still learning too!
My FX-1 was always cavitating. Never really learned how to get just water into the jet system without it swallowing too much air. Plus, the handlebar was way too long for those needing a more centered point of gravity.
I changed out the stock intake for a more aggressive intake grate, no more cavitation. My 1994 FX-1 tended to fly out of the water otherwise. Stock aluminum impeller While great, wears quickly and is prone to cavitation pitting ,which creates more cavitation. Great exercise machine, My body did a 52 Mph cart-wheel due to the mad G-forces of a sharp FX-1 turn. The pro's use foot holds, live and learn.
The newer 2 stroke is the best ski IMO. I rode the 4 stroke an it’s better than a couch but it’s not a real superjet. If I had to pick just one it would be the fx1 even though it’s impractical just for nostalgia, it was the 1st ski I’ve ridden and it beat me up.
Those things are minty fresh. So clean nice pickup!
Good review and you nailed it the FX/1 is the ski to have to test your ability a real blast to ride

Oh man, just ride it and buy a friend for it. They’re great to have around.
Are you in California?
Yes. @@doublem6027

Good luck finding one!!!
I'd be interested in buying one if you ever consider selling. I'm in Wisco area
When it comes to fun Fx1 always wins

I miss my FX1 but the Mk2 superjet rode so much better, The FX1 does test you how to ride that's for sure.
I can't wait for open water!
No doubt! Gotta drive south for water that isn’t frozen.

@@jaredfloding7949 Dasa 1100? I had a 9/16 with a 155 Mag pump and it worked great. What are you running?
@@jetskiaddict honestly, I don't know, but it was coupled to a ported 701 with a single carb. So I'm sure it has a small pump in it!
@@jaredfloding7949 Oh yeah, lots of room for improvement then. A 155 is a do it all pump, every motor out there a 155 can be good for.
I had a i5 fx-1. Best jet ski IMO
One owner skis . What a score! #vintagelife

The 95 superjets have the best looking graphics tho, no doubt!
For sure. The 95 SJ and FX1 are the best graphics.

One of those 94 sj might gotten water logged thats why its heavier

Our thoughts too.
i have a fx-1. pretty much best ski ever made.
still waiting for the blue chew ad... don't leave us hanging??
Uh way to cool!!!!
Got an fx1 myself for lake riding, really love how squirrely it is.
Would you ever consider selling them?
Everything is for sale.
@@jetskiaddict Did you sell the 19?
@@BookerTJohnson Nope, it’s my favorite one, keeping it.
@Kirk Tube figures haha dammit 🤣
2021 has a car engine vs a 701
