What I’m wanting to do is run a connection from Xbox series s to my go xlr mini just for audio. I plan on using Xbox game bar on my pc for communicating, I just need to hear what’s going on in game from my Xbox. Would this work for that or is there a more simple way?
I used to run Xbox party from my computer for that reason. Otherwise you could run your party to headset only and route the headset to the line in. Then use the optical input for your game sound and monitor everything from the goXLR
Yes, first you need to connect your go XLR to your Xbox controller, I am using a regular 3.5mm cable ( like the one you get with speaker) from the line out of the goxlr. Then to get it in the controller you need a CTIA adapter ( it’s a Cable with a male 3.5mm with 3 line on one end and two female connector on the other end) this makes it so you can plug a microphone and headset Into the controller. I don’t use the headset side since there is no delay listening to your Xbox thru your goxlr. Make sense ?
I’m making a revised version of this video, you need to also attenuate the signal from the line out as the controller can’t handle the very loud sound. So grab a dimmer as well. I will have one suggested for cheap
Mine is the Nobsound Little Bear MC102 Mini 2(1)-in-1(2)-Out 3.5mm Stereo Audio Switcher Passive Selector Splitter Box (Black) it does the attenuation well and adds a second output so you can have your speaker permanently connected for when you don’t game/record
Hey I watched this video again and had a quick question, I record my gameplay from an elgato do you just keep the audio via hdmi or do you use a chat link?
@@PixelBeard I play Overwatch, which let's me send the in-game chat through either the speakers or the controller. But are you able to assign it to a fader so you can control only the in game chat volume?
If you want to have a fader you have to send the (headset) part of the controller to line out and configure your Xbox for party/chat only. Otherwise the chat will be using the same slider as your game.
@@PixelBeard awesome! Thanks for the help. I've found your goxlr videos super helpful since I have a very similar setup. Also love the video and audio quality. Keep it up mate!
if I connect my playstation to a xlr mini will I be able to hear the console audio and the pc audio through my headphones at the same time? Also can i plug in my focusrite 2i2 to the xlr mini and get my mic audio from the mixer to the xlr mini? im kinda new to this mixer stuff so this may sound confusing.
If you get a goxlr you don’t need a 2i2 the preamp on Goxlr rock. You can do a lot of thing and it depends on the cable. If you have an XLR out you can connect it in the goxlr
@@PixelBeard before I spend the extra money on a goxlr mini do you know if there is anyway I can connect my PlayStation to my focustrite so I can hear my pc and playstation at the same time from the focusrite instead of me buying the xlr mini?
Both input on the 2i2 can also work as line input. Just get the right cable. I have no idea how you would get your microphone working as game chat tough sorry
Depends what wireless option are available to your headset but I have bought a 20$ Bluetooth transmitter that support recent Bluetooth and Aptx and it works. (There is delay so you can’t listen to your own voice) some wireless headset have their own base with 1/8 input. I have head those are better for lag but way more expensive and you still can’t listen to yourself anyway!
Just skip the XLR, it’s a great device but you won’t enjoy it until you need it. If you have a USB mic, just use software for your sound and potential voice effect
It will definitely work. Anything you connect to you Xbox will get streamed to the HD60, you just have to go to the guide. I’m on my ou the door but go into your setting and setup your TV and accessories if you don’t see an option to « watch « what is in your HDMI port
Yes they can hear me in game, The Line out is connected to a switcher between my speaker (for offline convenience) and a cable to my controller. I patch the microphone to my Broadcast stream/headset/chatmic/lineout so everything I say is sent tot he controller just like I was using a headset. Bonus I can also play sounds and music. Drawback, you need an in game solution for Push to talk and the audio is really bad if you do not get a dimmer since line out is way too powerful for the controller
Heyy i need help with this as well but with the series X and connecting it to a 4k60 pro mk2 i hear everything put teammates in game chat cannot hear me

Hey I love this video cause i think its my only hopes in hearing gamechat with astro amp but it gets real confusing when your explaining the controller connection. u said connect the mic on splitter to the line out??? are u talking on the go xlr or the adapter.. if u can clearify this portion for me we almost got it.
Controller is connected to splitter, the microphone side connects to the 1 or 2 side of the audio box (the one with the knob) that box in/out (it has two way it can be used) connects to the line OUT of the Go XLR. You output the sound from the go XLR
im not hearing the console sound yet. any advice? I have to monitor the source in mixer inside obs to hear it. Do i need the splitter and stuff to plug up controller
You have a GoXlr? Are you monitoring your broadcast stream mix or your capture card? Either way you can listen to your console without delay by making sure you have the console checked in the headphone row

Thanks for the Video. Really Helpful. Do u know if the Voice Effects will work with the Xbox too?
Yes, if you select sample in the Line out row of the ROUTING tab it will output it to your controller, same with music etc
are you answering questions?
Most of the time yes

@@PixelBeard got it that helps a lot thanks!
Do you have the Xbox in-gamechat (as opposed to party chat) in your mix? If you don't, do you know how allocate it to a channel on the Goxlr?
Game chat is either thru optical or line in depending on games ( some game won’t send game chat to speaker
