  • Easy Buffalo Wing Recipe:
    3lbs chicken wings (cut into drumette and wingette sections)
    1 cup of franks red hot sauce
    1/2 cup of butter
    Add 1 1/2 cups of water to the Instant Pot liner. Steam wings in the Instant Pot using a steamer basket or trivet on high pressure (using the "Steam" setting) for 10 minutes. Allow to NPR for at least 5 minutes and quick release any remaining pressure. Place wings in a single layer on a foil lined and lightly oiled cookie sheet. Crisp wings up under the broiler in your oven for 4-5 minutes per side or until skin is browned and crispy. Melt butter in a microwavable bowl or saucepan and whisk with Franks red hot sauce until combined. Dunk the crispy wings into the sauce mixture to coat and enjoy!

    Going to try this, thank you! I add an extra splash of cider vinegar to the Frank's. I'm from the Buffalo area, and that's the way they make it. 🙂

    In the ‘80s I worked in a “wings & pizza” restaurant kitchen. We made our sauce with Red Hot sauce, butter & ketchup. Different ratios of sauce to ketchup made up the mild, medium, hot sauces.

    Try adding a packet of Good Seasons dry Italian salad dressing to your wing sauce. We have doing it that way for years. Adds a unique zing to the sauce!

      I got my instant pot for Christmas. About a week later I decided to give it a try. That's when I stumbled onto Nili and her first wing recipe. She's got a lot of good ideas, I've tried a few and all have been a big hit. This device has made cooking much easier and anything beef, chicken or pork has been fall off the bone good. I've let Nili do all the hard work and experimenting, and I take all the credit here at home...

    I worked in a large supermarket chain deli dept. Our wings were a huge seller. As a sweet alternative for those that dont like anything spicy we would toss wings with "duck sauce" they were a favorite of many customers.

      I've followed her previous recipe as well on the first 3 successful attempts. I stumbled onto this one when I was double checking what is left of my memory on butter:Franks ratio. Now I scared. The old recipe was a big hit with my three sons, and now I'm tripling the amount of wings to 9 pounds. To add to the stress, my mother in law is coming over for the Super Bowl. (She's not happy unless she's made a server or a host cry before leaving a restaurant) Feeling pressure about to use the pressure cooker. I love the irony....

    I have used your instant pot/broil wings with much success. The only difference I make is using Frank's wing sauce. It has everything already in sauce. Just heat and add to the wings. Super both ways!! Thanks a bunch for update on your recipe...

    • @lizardas
      @lizardas 6 лет назад +2

      The difference is that the wing sauce has something called "Natural Butter Type Flavor", rather than real butter.

  • @nigel8499
    @nigel8499 6 лет назад +1

    Looks great. I'd be interested to taste the difference if the broil/grilling was swapped with sear over charcoal. Also Frank's do a Buffalo 'Wings' sauce 27% cayenne pepper. 'Original' that you used has 35% , so it's hotter.

    add the Franks before you broil, then again when you're done. makes a much better caramelized 'crust' on them.

    It seems that you had a lot of sauce left over. How long can you keep it in the fridge safely? Did you make three batches for each different flavor? Do you make a dipping sauce, blue cheese, ranch dressing or just go with it plain?

    Wings were not meant to be diet food. If there not fried for 15 min they are NOT Buffalo wings there yesterdays soggy leftovers. Look at all the butter she used. Just do it the right way. Serve with blue cheese dressing and celery. The only thing she got right was the Franks. So where was the savings in calories? If your going to put them in the oven anyway why even steam them first. So much extra work, this makes no sense.

    • @tedschmitt178
      @tedschmitt178 5 лет назад +1

      They weren't MEANT to be diet food? Who knew? Seriously, if you eat wings once a week, it pays not to fry them like I do. Some of us want to eat and not weigh 300 pounds or spend hours in the gym trying to work off the grease. I wish you a nice next visit with your cardiologist.
