- Overview of the Holy Stone HS720E drone and first flight! I almost lost it!
Hopefully be getting to grips with it soon so I can film some MTB action!
Filmed in 1080p as I forgot to change it to 4k using the app!
Top tips, make sure its got satellites(gps) before you send it up, and format the memory card in the drone using the app before you use it outside.

Nice review. Strangely the Gimbal ver. of this Drone the HOLY STONE HS720G is at the time of writing actually cheaper than this one. Just to point out the two 'antennas' that stick up behind your phone are not.....antennas that is. Holy Stone & Deerc who are one and the same tend to put those fake antennas on their controllers but they do nothing they're just for show. The radio antenna is inside the control unit itself and is in most cases just a short length of wire. Enthusiasts often mod their controllers and fit external antennas, it certainly makes a big difference to how far you can fly.

After compass calibration you must calibrate Gyro by pulling joysticks down and left. Will show on controller when done.

Yay! Somebody English! Hooray!! Brilliant video mate. I've watched some other videos about this drone and the video footage in those didn't seem as good as yours! I'm trying out a mate's who's got the very same one, this Bank Holiday Monday with a view to hopefully buying my own. I'm like a big kid! ! can't wait.
Awesome and thanks for watching. Make sure you have a good sd card in the drone for hd footage. Make sure you have the most recent version of the app and calibrate it before flight. Also form my mistake, make sure your phone is in airplane mode haha. Have fun matey and thanks for watching 🤘😁

These drones are known for losing connection and flying in circles before crashing. My first drone did this. With my second one when it started going in circles, I turned off GPS on the controller and was able to regain control.
Great video. Remember you will loose video before drone control and you should only have to press RTH once for it to return and land. When you press RTH doesn’t it show you on your display? Good and safe future flying to you.
Hi Steve. Thanks for the tips! Each time is an experience, got the latest app update and wondered why it wouldn't go high, then realized it had out settings to beginning mode. As everyone says, good to do a little check list before using. Thanks again Steve 👍👍👍👍

Does anyone know why I can't connect HS720E when my friend is flying next to me with his HS700E ? when I try to connect, my phone only see's the HS700E and not my HS720E until he disconnects his. In other words, we can't fly both next to each other at the sametime.
I cant say for sure, but potentially, make sure you can connect to your drone away from each other, then ensure your phone settings dont try and connect to other networks (some have settings that try connect to another network when they see a stronger signal). Also try reaching out to holystone with the question, their customer support is usually pretty good.

I have the HS720 and I just ordered the HS720E because the video is shaky on the HS720. It is an awesome drone and it is easy to fly. I would love a DJI drone, but they are too expensive.

I was flying mine 2 feet today above following a duck and her ducklings. I took it up about 150 feet and it was a beast
I had it since November and it was in begginer mode and today i finally figured how to switch it off and realy have fun with it. When i get the HS720E i do a comparason video and upload it.

I've just got the DJI Mavic air combo bundle for a great deal second hand pal......£160........I've crashed it a few times in my kitchen while drinking and once outside narrowly missing a moving car........I need to take it to a field and practice..........I've only bought it for the active track me function while on rides in open spaces......If it doesn't keep up I'll just shift it on at a profit
Mine wanted to fly back to China,... it goes left and backwards, I had to press return home to recover it
I have to fly this drone around a bunch of obstacles at my job. Any suggestions on how I can maneuver around some power lines and trees?
It's the exact same model as this one.
Well.. stay away from any powerlines, as the interference will cut out your control, and trees, keep high! If you have a chance to upgrade to a dji mini 3 , they have collision avoidance on them , which can add a bit of autonomy to the safety. Otherwise make sure its not in sport mode so its a lot slower and be careful!! (Make sure your boss doesn't hold you liable for any damage too!) :)

@@PhilCrombieMTB went to fly it then the battery said low and it landed itself. Saves me from having to do it today at least.
so will it not work if you dont put your data on mine twice has just flew into tree broke the arms so im waiting for 2 new arms but i cant get it higher then a tree its really frustrating
Hey ,. sorry to hear about your misfortune. Having the mobile data on sometimes drops the WiFi connection and then have to reconnect it. Also check the settings that it's not still in beginner mode which limits the drones altitude and distance. If you have Facebook, search the holy stone group, there's a check list in there to prepare before flight like proper calibration etc. I always do that stuff, then just hover it and move it around gently befor sending it just to make sure it's all calibrated and responsive. You can fly the model without mounting your mobile, Providing you keep the drone in sight, But beware as a beginner I found it difficult to know what direction or position the drone was at distance,

I got the same drone. Keeps losing signal at about 100m. Do you have the same issue??
Hey, make sure you calibrate it before sending it up. Don't forget it's range is from point of take off so if you move down a hill for instance then you are increasing the distance, I found it struggles when you travel down as it gives a negative alttude when using follows me mode. Also make sure your phone is in airplane/flight mode so it doesn't try to switch to mobile data when WiFi gets weak. If all fails there are extra mods you can get for the controller antennas to help with range. Hope that helps. Good luck
So I just ordered mine from Amazon a few days ago. I went ahead and downloaded the app, and all the bad reviews on the app are scaring me! Has anyone had any problems with the updated app as far as flying the drone?
Hi.. it's been ok for me, each flight is a learning curve. Have a look on Facebook there's a Holystone 720e group, super friendly and knowledgeable join it as it's a valuable resource :)

Hiya. Tbh mine is a bit big but just fits. I have a Xiaomi mi 10t lite 5g! It's an excellent phone for the money, specs are great!

How far out did it go. Mine does not go too far, maybe 120 meters.
Hiya. Check the app settings. Often it starts in beginners mode so you need to override and push the settings to maximum. Have you tried that? :)

Well for this video, I tried a new one but usually I do then with videopad, it's free Windows editing software :)

Oh no. Nightmare. Are u in the Facebook user's group for holy stone? There is a representative called Shirley, sometimes she can help direct with Holystone.
Lousy drone that they won't support. Mine went rogue, flew off, and all they offered me was 35% off my next purchase. Why would I buy another when they don't stand behind their products?
Tbh I always had no issues with mine but have sold it now. I think I'd be looking for a DJI mini 3 for the next one but it's 3 times the price. Shame you had bad experience, 35percent is pretty poor. Will you get another different drone?
