Theory also just announced a live chat between Stupendous and himself, really looking forward to it. Long time watcher Stupendous, new sub though. Cheers for the hard work
I've always hated the idea that urban sprawl was somehow a good thing, and thus something to be proud of. Coruscant to me is the embodiment of the corruption within the whole of the Star Wars galaxy. It's all shiny on the surface, but rotten at the core. In our real world, I find myself paraphrasing Our Lord; like whitewashed tombs. Clean on the outside, but filled with dead mens' bones and corruption on the inside.
Yeah, gives me the exact same impression. Polished and shiny on the outside but rotten through and through within. Apparently the bottom level is the worst, but I thought the senate was higher than that
The creators of the history of Coruscant truly did a nice job catering to a lot of planetary issues that would actually happen under those circumstances. Also very cleverly diving into our problems here on Earth that are forgotten about, like space garbage. I love this video, super excellent!! I think if there were one world I would like you guys to do a deep dive in like this, my inner child would actually love to hear the whole history of Endor.
Dude you an Theory have always been my favorite SW creators I'm so glad to see you two sticking up for what right. I like Geetsly too idk where he fits into any of this if at all. But you two are just incredible!!
I've been working on to make a fan world building story set in this period: The War for Notron. The 13 Nations vs the Taung. Guys like Rexutu and the Doom and Olhak the Reaver are all in it. Some ideas I've had is to base the 13 Nations on Humans and Near Human cultures, like the Republic, the Chiss, the Twi'lek and Zeltrons, the Alderaanians, and others, and to have three major factions of Taung each associated with the Three Gods of the Taung: The Warlike worshipers of Kad Ha'rangir, the cunnng worshipers of Hod'Haran, and the peaceful worshipers of Arasuum.
@@Motherbound you know, with the lack of photosynthesizing lifeforms, how did the planet get oxygen? it's entirely the leftover oxygen from the ocean era
I love these stories about Coruscant, I still remember the game I, I think "KOTOR" where you play on the ground level. The books also had some interesting stories..
Same here buddy. Just subscribed because I saw theory say good things. So yes I love this type of content. Its explained easier than the shills channels
Just had a crazy realization I have been watching your videos since middle school and I’m in college now (tbh I have not been consistently watching your videos)
TSW and SWT - the only good star wars lore channels have the same initials...... I think its a sith masterplan. Always two there is. Loved your channel for years man
The Taung lived on Mandalore for years, hunting the Mythosaur to extinction. During their time on Mandalore, other wandering or lost species made their way into Mandalorian space and the Taung offered them shelter, a place to rest. This led to some wanting to join their culture and so the Taung accepted them growing together. Over the years, the Taung species itself were dying due to all the conflicts they participated in (particularily the Mandalorian Wars) with one of the last being Mandalore the Ultimate who fought, and lost, against Revan. May be another good video for Stupendous Wave to cover, the history of Mandalore/the Taung
Hey, I know this may be weird to ask, but have you ever thought about narrating an audiobook of one of the old 80’s or 90’s star wars legends books, or a lore bible or something? You have /such/ a good voice for audiobooks. Thank you for the video! Just had to say that cause halfway through I forgot that this wasn’t playing from my library app.
Level 1 is the most inhospitable and disgusting with all the trash and other stuff that no one can survive in it. The lowest some one has ventured was level 3
Metropolis (Meh-trop-polis) a mega city. Ecumenopolis (E-qu-men-op-polis) a world city. The Jedi Temple on Coruscant would not be built until sometime after the Great Hyperspace War of 5,000 bby, when the Sith attacked the very heart of the Republic. In Canon, the Sith would have setup a shrine at the Force Nexus, in hopes of corrupting it. The Jedi would later build a small temple around it in hopes of purifying it. At some point, likely after the devestation of Ossus, the Jedi chose to relocate their main base of operations to Coruscant. In Legends, the Jedi would build only a small shrine at a sacred spire shortly after the war. It would not be until after the Great Sith War led by Exar Kun and Ulik Qel-Droma devestated Ossus, home to the Jedi Order’s main temple, that the Jedi Order chose to relocate to Coruscant shortly after 4,000 bby. That’s likely the case to some extent in canon too.
I have developed a headcanon that Tookas were native to Coruscant. They spread out into the galaxy with humans, and maybe even the Taung. Loth-Cats? Early human explorers who reached Lothal brought tookas and they went native. Loth-Rats probably came on the ships too.
So, uh, where did all of the materials to build this city come from? Building a worldwide Los Angeles would stress the planet for stone and ore, but then they started building upward before inventing interstellar travel and the Recado(spl.?). The whole planet would have to be strip mined ten miles deep with every bit of rock converted into metal and concrete to achieve such a feat, and then they'd need another rocky moon or two on top of that once the technologies to harvest extra-planetary resources were invented. I'm sure at some point in the planet's history some scientists would've sounded the alarm about oxygen depletion and the need for greenery, prompting residents to plant rooftop and balcony gardens. Without oceans how are clouds produced that bring rain? I would imagine that rain drains to oceans on the bottom level with boiler stacks like twenty mile long heated straws sucking water into the bottoms and releasing steam at the tops. There really should be numerous and visible farm towers depicted on Coruscant chock full of plants and fruit trees, and gardens on every balcony. The Jedi Temple should really have a forest on that expansive ass roof too. How are they supposed to teach Padawan to be one with nature if there ain't any nature around to be one with? Any flat surface on the topside of the planet could be parks and lakes. Also, why would they jettison recyclable materials into space when they need that stuff to build with? The logistics for Coruscant/Trantor just need to be a little more thought out, s'all I'm sayin'.
Explains how the hyperdrive was finally reverse engineered but shows a mass relay. That really seems like something that has nothing to do with the subject.
8:13 thats a load of bull sorry, why would they write it so that they possessed sci tech 100000 years before a new hope which was just the 70s but with lazers..
I want to sub but the Disney lore support is too much for me in a lot of your videos, i wish they would so be labelled or just focus on non Disney created stuff.
there is one BIG hole in it all, how did the tong people get of world when the sleeper ship technology was first invented some 170 000 years afther. this is most likely long before the qua or the other ANCIENT species started their traveling of the galaxy, unless beeings like the celestial grabed them at some point in time.
Theory just referenced you in a vid bro. Said some very nice things. Wasn't even aware of your channel. Hope you get a lot more new subs.

I don’t if it canon or legends but I would like to know more about

Pretty sure it is both to some degree. I know there is a dark side nexus under the temple in legends.
would love to see a movie or show set place within this era. a lot of things to discover. great video thx for sharing
Stupendous wave and star wars theory pod cast. Yes

Been a fan for a long time but I'm glad you just got a mention! Enjoy the bump, fellow acolyte.

Less literally, more figuratively. Now, Centerpoint Station, that is a case of literal galaxy shaping.
