Back in the day before Hs1 was built. I remember the track being lowered at Tonbridge on the up fast and down fast portals because the Eurostar was that bit more higher sitting on the tracks, as clearance was tight for the normal stock. You can still see the dip in the tracks to this day but unfortunately not the Eurostar lol. Nice video cheers. Brings back some good memories 👍
Wow! nice to see a bit of history at my local station. Gosh I wish I was around near Sevenoaks at the time when they went through there, gosh that must of been amazing to see.
Yes quite a strange sight to see them on third rail! They went through Tonbridge as well before heading off towards Folkestone. Thanks for watching and commenting :)
@@sevenoaksOO Yes! it was kinda strange, sadly all there 3rd rail shoes are gone now. But yes still nice to see them on Ashford Flyover and near Westernhanger etc. Must have a trip on a Class 373 before its too late. But yes that is alright.
Thanks! It's not one of the most reliable runners I have to say. This mod was using power cars at both ends, both with the same DCC address. Lighting is from Express models. In the future I think I will be looking at adding an additional power bogie to the front power car and removing the traction tyres, which hopefully will make the whole thing a bit more stable!
Excellent videoing, shame hornby never made the centre coaches and buffet car, seems strange to think now eurostars using third rail track!! Look forward to more..
Excellent! Wish i'd taken more pics of them around here back then.
Thanks! Likewise, I do miss seeing them on 3rd rail :)

I've learned something new there! Thanks for the info - I will look out for that dip next time I'm at Tonbridge! 😂

Those Eurostars were a pain in the rear. They seemed to love blowing up as they passed the downside office…..it made us jump every time
Yes I think there’s a couple of clips of them doing that on RUclips - can imagine it wore a bit thin after a while! 😂
Smashing mod on the Eurostar would you mind doing a video in the future of how you achieved it? Looking forward to more content

Thank you! Yes indeed it does seem odd to think of them trundling around the 3rd rail network. They're much more at home under the wires!
That's brilliant
Play the video in 2x speed
It will look like the speed as in real life
