+1 for the Numskull 1/4 scale. I know everyone else is going for the 1Up, but to my eyes the Numskull looks almost identical to the original arcade game, and plays right. Granted it might not be as easy to play as the 1Up, but the quality and look of the replica is much nicer.
+1 quarter scale pacman It is way nicer with light up marquee quality parts and a lot more love and effort was put in to these.Arcade 1up is very cheap i have seen them with the graphics peeled off less then a week. The joysticks are cheap and will break very easy.If you want real arcade quality go with the quarter scale from numbskull designs.
I just ordered Miss Pacman from Numskull today...suppose to get it Tuesday...glad to see that a lot of people prefer Numskull over the 1up. I saw the 1 up at Walmart and though I like the size, it did look a little on the cheap side.
+1 Quarter Sized Pacman by Numbskull. I purchased one and love it. The size is perfect and the quality is excellent. For me, I don't have room for a 1Up Arcade so the smaller one is perfect!
If you want to have anything close to a real arcade experience, you would have to go with the 1up. Quality control aside, the size, weight, and controls make the 1up the winner. The quarter scale is more of a very nice novelty. 1up +1.
+Numskull Quarter scale... the details are so accurate. The most glaring "wrong" detail on the 1up is no light up Marquee, but the "wrong" design of the cab art bothers me too. The ONLY thing I like about the 1up is that it includes Pacman Plus.
+1 1UP Pac-Man Arcade - It's not even a close contest IMO. I was able to get mine for $150 as well which is cheaper than the 1/4 scale machine. The A1U machine is a playable size. Meaning it's similar to the real thing. You can use your entire hand on the joystick, not just fingers. It's larger size makes it stand out for that awesome retro living room piece. The 1/4 machine looks cool, but it's a shelf warmer. I love my A1U, the wife and I have been battling it out for the highest scores. She's winning... for now.
+1 for 1UP. Granted its more expensive, but you are getting a variety of games, much bigger and easier to see screen, bigger and easier to use buttons and more "life-like" size.
My vote is for the quarter arcade. It's going to last a whole lot longer than the one up arcade. The only thing on the one up that I'll probably last is the cabinet itself and that's not saying much as it's made out of cheap particle board. The mini quarter arcade guaranteed has a better monitor a better ROM and just a visually better setup. It'd be more of a hit at parties as you can take it with you without problems.
+1 1Up Pac Man Arcade. If your looking for an arcade machine, get an arcade machine. Bonus with having Pac Man Plus as well. The Numskull 1/4 size is cute and cool if your short of space, but think it’s going to be fiddly to play compared to the 1Up machine.
would like to have seen a video of YOU playing the quarter scale game to get a better idea of size and how you play it, but either way it appears the two aren't really comparable (apples/oranges). One is a portable desktop version you could take with you. The other is a fixed piece of furniture not easily transported. Obviously the 1up is closer to the real deal as far as game play. But the numskull is a neat piece of desktop art.
I just ordered the Numskull Quarter Scale and am excited for it due to the COA, coin and the use of original Rom and lit up Marquee and quarter slots.....the One Up Arcade joysticks out of the box really suck and lose responsiveness rather quickly. This is the reason I opted for something more authentic than the other.
+1 1Up Pack-Man Usability.. at least in the favor of I would buy this for my arcade obsessed 8 year old. However, talking about build quality. That 1/4th you showed, has the glass on it? That is an outstanding working collectible display piece. One is a piece of art, the other is a useable thing that can and should be modded.
Although I like the Numbskull look and the fact that it uses the actual ROM complete with startup board check. I can't just the cost of it for its size. +1 Arcade 1Up
+1 1up. The Numbskull quarter scale isn't bad...just insanely overpriced. I own a Arcade1up machine myself(the 12 in 1)and while they're not perfect, for the size, price & quality they're hard to beat. Especially now that they've mentioned that light up marquees are in the works(hopefully)for Spring of 2019. So you combine that with the riser, and you have yourself a nice arcade machine for only $250-$300 when all is said and done. So if you have the room go for it, otherwise the quarter scale machine is just an over priced novelty.
+1 numskull pacman Quarter scale. Because it’s small you can take it anywhere, looks like the actual arcade machine. One of the best ways to take pacman on the go!
+1 1UP Pac-Man Arcade Like you said, it is a weird size. A bit too big for a table top game, yet too small to really get that arcade feel. Plus for a bit more you can get a machine closer to a full size cabinet. "Go big or go home".
+ 1 Arcade 1up hands down. I have arcade 1up pac man and its amazing, no issues! I have 100% confidence you’ll receive the overlay ... I received mine for all 3 of my machines within the time frame given.
Much as I don't like the 1Up Arcades, I still think they're much better and make more sense than the tiny arcade cabinets, not to mention the 1Up has the advantage of having an extra game included, so +1 1Up Pac-Man Arcade for me.
I adore my Numskull Pac-Man. However, the joystick is broken (up and right movement). The joystick is not durable. It would be great if they have USB port in the back for an external joystick. I wish they have that option in their future cabinets.
+1 1UP Pac-Man Arcade. The cost of the Numbskull Quarter Scale Pac-Man is the big thing that drags it down. Your quarter scale unit needs to be updated to the current release version, as the release version does not have the graphics scaling problem that is seen in your unit.
I'm torn between the 2....I want them both! But if I needed to pick 1 I would pick the 1 up due to the larger size and the extra game which looks more fun than the original Pacman. I'm surprised you don't have the My Arcade version if Pacman which if your good with taking apart games and resodering them, you can get about 4 extra games.
+1 Numbskull because it just doesn't have the game it also has coin slots, lightup marquee it makes it so much more authentic and that's what I would look for in a game.
I own both of them, and I'd say that they both have ups and downs. While the Numskull is very small, It is very equally playable in my opinion. The Arcade1Up does have more space on the control panel, and you can also lean on it, which is something fairly important to the experience of Pac-Man, that cannot happen on the Numskull. The sound is a bit off on the Numskull, but I personally can overlook, although the 1Up does have 100% accurate emulation, I think it wins as far as sound. Now because this whole event is at viewers discretion, I'll have the go with the Numskull cabinet. I love the look of the original cabinet, and that Backlit Marquee is beautiful. As far as realistically wanting to own a machine, 1Up would be the way to go, but my personal favorite between the two has to be Numskull. +1 Numskull
Another thing I don't believe you noted though, is that the poor scaling is not on the retail model. They did fix the scaling issue that shows in the footage of this video.
@@subzero8679 The Numskull is a replica of the real machine, just 1 quarter the size. It's closer to the real scale of the machine, but not the same cabinet as the real thing.
1UP Pac-Man Arcade +1. The little one looks bit pricey but takes less space. However i like the bigger screen and controls better. RGP19 continues strong !
Plus 1 - It gives you an extra game. The other only has one game and the price is too expensive for that one game. The Arcade1Up Pac-Man gives you more for your money and that is my vote.
I would love to see the sales receipt for what you say you paid for it. $249.00 is the best price I've ever seen via internet or in store for the Arcade1Up PacMan.
+1 Numskull Quarter Scale Pac-Man
+1 The Quarter Scale Arcade looks amazing, perfect cabinet.
QUARTER SCALE WITHOUT A DOUBT, THEY NEED TO MAKE THAT QUARTER SCALE AS BIG AS THE ARCADE1UP!
+1 for the Numskull 1/4 scale. I know everyone else is going for the 1Up, but to my eyes the Numskull looks almost identical to the original arcade game, and plays right. Granted it might not be as easy to play as the 1Up, but the quality and look of the replica is much nicer.

+1 Numskull 1/4 scale Pac Man.
The truest representation of the original 1980 arcade cabinet ever made!!!
+1 Numbskull Quarter Scale Pac-Man for the exact replica.
You always look so happy, it makes my day better when I see your happiness!
+1 Numbskull. A better built system hands down. I think if people could actually see both in person, these automatic 1UP votes would flip flop. :)
+1 Numskull, I love how true these are to the original, as I would rather have this.
+1 1Up. Only because you seemed to play much better on it. It should have included more games for that price, but so should have Numbskull.
+1 Quarter Sized Pacman by Numbskull. I purchased one and love it. The size is perfect and the quality is excellent. For me, I don't have room for a 1Up Arcade so the smaller one is perfect!
+1 Numskull Quarter Scale (As this is currently £99 here in the U.K.) Arcade1up machines are charged at £349.99 to £399 so out of budget
+1 for Quarter Scale Pac-Man.
I love both
So do I.
Nice vid John as always,I still prefer the quarter arcade's version but pac plus is a nice bonus.
If you want to have anything close to a real arcade experience, you would have to go with the 1up. Quality control aside, the size, weight, and controls make the 1up the winner. The quarter scale is more of a very nice novelty. 1up +1.

For obvious reasons my bias is towards the more mini of the two consoles, the Quarter Arcade. 😀
Numskull hands down! Spot on and beautiful. Grabbed galaxian and dig dug. Space invaders is next. Sorry I’m a little late to the party.

Numbscull Pacman!!!!! I take quality over quantity :)
bEN-OFFICIAL MASSIVE wait what? Quantity? There’s only one
I really like the 1/4 scale system, but my 1+ is going to the 1up arcade system for playability and size
I love the 1up better because it gives me that arcade full, but I love the quarter size for the travel. Both rate 10 to me. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
+1 1Up Pack-Man

Good video.

1UP Pac-Man Arcade +1. The little one looks bit pricey but takes less space. However i like the bigger screen and controls better. RGP19 continues strong !
+1 for the 1up Arcade. When it comes down to it if I'm spending the money for an arcade cab then I'm going with the bigger size.
+1 Quarter Arcade. It's just too cute.

+1 1Up Pac-Man Arcade Assuming price and size are no issue of course.
+ 1 Numskull Quarter Scale Pac-Man. It takes up less space.
+1 for the 1up arcade Pacman. I would rather have a full size machine than a baby sized version.
+1 1UP Pac-Man Arcade
+1 quarter scale pacman is the better choice here , with exceptional build quality , I give this 100% all around . 👍🖖💯🍺🍺
+1 Numbskull. It's a perfect replica.
+1 for arcade1up. I have one and enjoy it a lot. That said really impressed with the quality of the numbskull pacman.
I vote for 1up Pac man seems alot better built then the other cabinet you got from 1up and includes Pac man plus for 100$ more only
Plus 1 - It gives you an extra game. The other only has one game and the price is too expensive for that one game. The Arcade1Up Pac-Man gives you more for your money and that is my vote.
Why are you getting a control panel overlay for the 1UP machine? +1 for the 1/4 numskulls machine
The artwork rubs off the 1up Arcade early machines. Supposedly this will be resolved in the future

I don't know why but... every time John shoots a video without a hat on he looks like he's fixing to tell me that he has the high ground tbh.

I would have voted for the 1/4 scale but mine arrived with a faulty joystick and I still haven’t received one that works
