    I fly a lot over asia (Thailand, Japan, etc..) and this has been an issue as well. Tried everything possible (DX cache, game cache, etc..) nothing works. We need to be louder about this issue because it's completely breaking the immersion and it's atrocious.

    I had some ground problems in my sim. I finally found my culprit, and that was Bijan 4 seasons. I uninstalled those in my community folder and the sim worked was fine again.

    It is just unacceptable. They really should not pay any attention to all that extra bull.... they put in the game, like planes and WU's etc. They should fix these Gamebreaking issues, that still are very profound 2 years after they were introduced.

    Agree with you 100%. Unacceptable. Release SU15 and Asobo should commit to a hot fix ASAP.

    I certainly won't be spending money on MSFS2024. If they leave 2020 like this it's a disgrace. I'm waiting for their final statement "If you purchase 2024 you will not experience this issue"

    I habe never seen a developer who after 4 years still can't figure out optimization and implementation or ubiquitious features from prior iterations. They should've focused on improving the sim before rushing to get it out to xbox. Since then it's been a nightmare

    I would have to agree 100%! In fact it is the biggest problem I have with my sim and it is also one of my biggest problems when it comes to making a video. I know exactly what you are talking about. If people look at some of my videos you can see me pointing that problem out. That is a problem I have never seemed to be able to get around and is the biggest problem with my sim, besides that problem my sim looks and performs great. So it leaves one pretty frustrated to say the least.
    Edit: Your the only person I've seen mention that problem so far, and it's a big problem. It is also an immersion breaker, worse than shimmering light poles. I have clearly shown that problem in my videos and it happens anywhere I am in the sim.

    Hey guys! I also have this problem using Sim Update 14 (not 15 beta). The curious point is just for DX12.. if you change from DX12 to DX11 these texture conflicts disappear.

    This happens at DFW all the time. I also get bandwidth warnings when I'm on approach to that airport also.

      I have to turn photogrammetry and crash detection settings off to fly in and out of DFW.

      it doesmt happen to me at DFW, but landing at JFK is out of the question for me my game goes down to like 20fps landing is horrible there, everywhere else I don't have that issue even landing at Charles De Guille or Heathrow, ATL, Ohare you name it, but JFK is just done,

    I noticed big reduction of this problem if I stick to TOLD at 200 or lower with display resolution not more than display native max setting

      Same here. I haven't seen a single texture issue in 100's hours of flights. I use DX12 , DLSS Quality. 160 both LODS (sometimes 200 both LODS). 4070 gpu, 5800DX3 cpu. FG on.
      For me using DLSS instead of TAA or DLAA cures the issue completely. I never see anything remotely like the image in this video. Never seen it except months and months ago when DX 12 was new.
      Real native FG (series 4000 card). DLSS quality. Happy camper if you go native!

    Oddly enough I don't often see this. Actually only once in the last couple of months near Monterrey, CA. I've flown out to areas where people have reported problems and don't see it. It looks like it might be another issue that is not universal, making it much more difficult to figure out. If asobo actually knew the cause, they would have fixed it by now. I'm in the beta and use DX12.

    I often see this issue on DX12. This ground texture popping thing is often shown when my VRAM gets maxed out, not sure if VRAM has anything to do with this issue

    The big issue is that those three guys from MS/Asobo are still unable to discriminate the two independent issues here. One is tile popping occuring in both DX12 and DX11 due to whatever reason and it IS a regression, even if Jorg claims otherwise. The other one, ground textures disappearing and revealing the underlying ground texture layer, is strictly restricted to DX12. It never happens in DX11. So, as long as they seem still not understanding this, I also doubt that there will ever be a fix...

    *World Reworked the rendering of the world tiles to avoid graphical glitches under DX12*

    Hi. I just checked in Courchevel and region: the tiles popping bug is gone, at least in that area. It used to be very bad. Textures are not the sharpest but at least tiles stay the same. I am on Dx 11, and FS default, not on SU15 beta. To check quickly: find Albertville airport on the map. Zoom all the way in, then a bit high. There used to be an imaginary North South line where on the West tiles were stable, and on the East of that "line" tiles changed as we zoomed in-out. If on the East tiles are stable, it's fixed. Try it.

    Hi Mate, I'm somehow confused - in my understanding, a MESH is a data set of elevation data only and has nothing to do with the ground textures themselves.

      It's a sort of mesh, but it's basically one big texture. They're like 6,000 x 6,000 meters or something like that.

    Since Xbox version, the msfs2020 on PC is a nightmare for me. Each time I launch the game, I need to leave it, sign in the Xbox and restart from the begin.

    Perhaps they could 'crowd source' the problem' and pay whoever in the outside world has the solution. If they expedite this they might make more money now and when FS2024 is released, by 'future proofing' their product and therefore protect their business from further damage. Muddling along and not moving forward without seeking help is going to keep them static in the very quagmire they are now stuck in.

    The only thing ive seen on my sim is where it seems to load two different maps. If youll notice in bing maps when you zoom out its one map when you zoom in its another. If i tweak my lod to different values maybe 4.2. lod past the 400 it does some different things. Wish i had a clue 😂

    Thank you for your efforts to keep this major sim issue on their radar screen to some degree at least. I'm not in the SU15 Beta but it's very disheartening to hear that the problem might actually get worse when it comes out. Like others I see this issue at large and small airports around the world, so claiming that it's only a problem in the 3 regions they specifically mentioned or that it only occurs at the borders of regions or that its solved can easily be disproved in only a few minutes in the sim. Their contradictory answers (as you highlighted) make it hard to determine if they genuinely don't understand what the issue is that's being described or if they do know but simply can't figure out what what the root cause is.

    dx12 is a mess in msfs it has been in beta status in years and they have not fixit, I hade sometime whole airport disapear only lights was left on ground. Its like win at lotto if it not disapear textures on ground at airports, if you are lucky you can move around with camera drone texture can load back

    I like the Sim a lot. It is realy a very good product. But the forming of tiles is an issue that also happens in the regions where i fly. Example EBBL (Kleine Brogel). It is a shame this happens. I hope that they will fix this in the near future. I'm a simmer for more then 30 years now, I 'sponsord' :-) a lot in this simming. So I hope that they will keep this in mind. Thnx.

    Don't know if you know about this. There is a work around for this problem. But it's not a once and done fix. You may even have to do it more than once while at the same airport. You have to have dev mode enabled. When it happens go up the the top dev options go to debug, airport/s, airport color I think it is. Mine is checked by default. Uncheck it and recheck. And it should correct it for a bit, it does for me. Hope this helps.

    This has been really getting on my nerves. Cant fly without the runway suddenly transforming to some random texture.

      You're lucky, in my case it's like the grass verges spread all over the taxiway and runway. Horrendous effect!!

      I only get it when I depart from somewhere; it does go away when you toggle the drone and increase hight until tiles are gone and then decrease. I never had it when I land somewhere. But agree: Has to be fixed asap.

    O dear was looking forward to this update. Seems like another osobo clanger. I will wait and see . As for 2024 i said a long time ago i wont be getting it and waiting another 4 years for them to get it right only to make it worse. Will see what happens and hope for the best

    I thought that using Google rather than Bing Maps would be the fix....but no. Same problem using FS2020 Map Enhancement to switch to Google Maps. Oh well, it was a thought.

    As far as I can see,it never will be fixed.I fly in an area where burned off wheat fields can be seen,that became illrgal in the uk as of January 1993.So what we are dealing with here is 32 year old data.This has to be a cost cutting measure and is unlikely to change plus the fact that many areas are cloud covered,so data from different days and times are going to be used making it impossible to have uniformity,bummer.................................................

      Lying? I do NOT sense that they're lying . If, as Mike says, Asobo doesn't understand what the problem is, it suggests that they're not lying but that the problem is not seen on their, all, or perhaps even the majority of user setups.

    I will find it completely unacceptable if they release 2024 without having fixed so many issues in 2020, especially this texture/tile loading nonsense. I can dream I suppose.

    This issue has a long history way back to initial release I think. I doubt it is related to VRAM leakage. To be honest, I don't have texture issue in DX11, but DX12, and my observations is DX12 use a lot more VRAM, almost double amount of cache. The game will still has tile issue when VRAM is not maxed out, but will be much worse when it is. I don't know if XBOX has this issue as well, as XBOX version runs in DX12 only.

      My computer is brand new, 4060Ti OC 16Gb, Ryzen 5 7600x, 32Gb of DDR5, and this has been a real pain for me. So no, it's on the game's side, not hardware related.

    I myself have never had this problem until last week when I purchased a gaming computer with a 4090 graphics card. My 3090 never does this. This all sounds like a hardware issue or an architectural issue with software and hardware calls. I get grass tiles moving onto the concrete only on my 4090. It's acting as though artifacts are being created in the hardware which could be memory leaks or even some kind of geometry miscalculation in the transfers from memory to the other pipeline parts. My artifacts on my 4090 are not permanent. They seem to momentarily appear and then disappear. I have not looked at the architectural differences between the 3090 and the 4090 but if everyone on here is having that problem regardless of the GPU, then it's something in the pipeline (disk, memory, graphics and clocks). If Asobo has checked the algorithms against reference hardware, I have to believe that there are timings between the I7, I9, 3090, 4090 and DDR5 vs DDR4 and can be measured under some lab tests. It would be interesting to see if the XBOX owners have the same issue. I haven't read all of the comments but depending on the tile size and memory model between the XBOX and PC, a lot can happen.

    I don’t have these issues with DX11. sure it should be fixed but I carnt be bothered bashing my head against wall. Game runs fine for me now. Whether you like it or not msfs2024 is the focus now which is why su16 is next year. I wait and see what su15 does on my pc

    I agree in some respects about MSFS 2020 reaching its code limit and what you can do with it to some extent. Also photogrammetry etc. those popping textures are really annoying, along with mountains that look like melted treacle. You only have to install NZA Simulations New Zealand Milford Sound region and appreciate the beauty of that area, with mountains that look like mountains and not a jam sponge pudding !!. Ohh dear it is what it is !!. Goodness knows if MSFS 2024 will be any better. Hope so. Please Asobo fix those stutters when you come close to a mid sized airport when your aircraft micro stutters for a nano second !!. Annoying. Although yes of course, upgrading hardware GPU and CPU can fix some of that stuff, but not always. I always live in hope after a sim update, but it always seems 1 step forward, 5 steps back. This all seemed to happen after the ubiquitous SU 5.

    have to say this problem very annoying but not everywhere, and all adopted new addons haven't that @#$R%@. so in any school of logic, they could solve the common problems long time ago. some airports are totally broken, some of them just glitchy, and most i fly just fine... but this situation, obviously must exist beyond online map. because all airport textures just must be in priority and drawing above everything else.

    This won’t be fixed in MS2020. Not in 2024 at least. And MS2024 still hasn’t even confirmed if this issue will be resolved. All Asobo say is “Improved”. Whatever that means. Certainly not a fix!!

    this is so irritating, been dealing with this for 2 years or more. there is no reason they should be this bad at their jobs., if they actually worked with the community and read the forums they would have some clue as to what is going on, its so easy to replicate. im not buying msfs 2024 till they fix this.... whats hilarious is not that they cant fix it but that they dont even know what were talking about. ive spent $100's on addons, not gonna continue buying for a product that has incompetent devs. im sorry but im switching to xplane.

    This is a disaster. Fixing this issue should be Asobo's top priority. I don't understand why they don't realise how serious this problem is. It makes me miss Megascenery. If it is not fixed in MSFS2024, people will not buy it.

    how the @#$ is can be a map problem, is years elementary not fixed normal logic of airport textures in dx12 that must exclude, just @#$@ exclude any maps below rendering? how long the snow lie around the world - canada, alaska, greenland, swiss, milford nz.... they do that reeno race birds, and after couple a patches they was broken,,, some mustangs and l-39... and nothing, just nothing... months and months.

    in my opinion SU 5 (pre Xbox release) was the best version ever. Live weather was great we had thunderstorms. performance was very good. and then the Xbox version came out, the sim just went downhill and can't ever get back up. it's an embarrassment in the fact that the stable version right now, they broke the Fullscreen setting. Asobo is losing my expectations and I'm not feeling it with MSFS 2024.

    I only see this in DX12, so I just stopped using DX12. I don't see any huge difference in DX12 and DX11, and I actually get better performance with DX11 so for me this is really a non issue.

    I went back from DX12 to DX11 just because of that problem and on DX11 no more texture popping problem solved. Its a DX12 only issue afaik.

      That's right. Problem being, that with DX11 you cannot activate the Frame Generation mod, and therefore have to accept way worse performance. For me, and many others, performance still is the number 1 issue.
      Do you get better performance in DX11 when comparing it to DX12 without the Frame Gen mod enabled?

      @GandALF8419 - Yep, maybe it is only a DX12 issue. I only just switched to DX12 and suddenly began seeing this problem. I'm now going back to DX11.

      @@infinitewisdom9619 I have an RTX 3080 with a Ryzen 5950X. Performance has been excellent with DLSS @4K (quality) and DX11. Also, Frame Gen feature is not available on RTX 3000 series cards. Ironically, I followed IslandSimPilot's, and others, recent DLSS/DLAA performance videos and it made my FPS much worse so going back to my previous setup. Regards from toasty Thailand!

      @@Jimbo-in-Thailand Interesting. I meant the Frame gen mod, not the built-in Frame Generation feature from microsoft. The Frame Gen mod (by Nukem9 (on Github / Nexus Mods)) nearly doubles the FPS and for me has made everything much smoother and thus more enjoyable. I have an RTX 3070, Ryzen 5600X and 32 Gb RAM.

      ​@Jimbo-in-Thailand same here 3080, no frame gen, 1440 ultra settings taa not dlss. I may see low 30s in lax or jfk, but for the most part 55+fps. Every "performance" video I have watched and tried make my frames worse. In dx12 I get these issues, but I don't use dx12 anyhow because it crashes in vr for me, has since day 1. I think the simple fix is remove the dx12 (beta)option! it says it is a beta, it obviously is causing issues, and people leave it on expecting that to change, It wont. Or just change the text in the options to "dx12(beta) will cause texture and performance instability for most users."

    There should be no more major issues with the new 2024 sim as I think this 2020 sim has reached the limits of upgradability. Lets hope.

    I just posted on another channel that EVERY update release ends up with no significant fixes to issues that have persisted. We all have the same “hopes”, and every time we are left wondering what happened.
    Dallas Fort Worth airport is BRUTAL. It seems to come and go, but is so bad there that I wont even fly there anymore

    Agree. I’ve never experienced what you are seeing, but get random bleeds normally around my aircraft. A restart of the sim solves it, but a real pain. You spend sheds loads of money on quality sceneries only for this to happe!! Bonkers.

    Your issue is DX12 - switch to DX11. I've not had texture popping or tile bleeding with DX11, in fact rarely with DX12 either. Clearing cache from time to time (Especially after updates) also ensure there's no mismatched textures

    Asobo knows what the issues are generally but users are commonly conflating unrelated issuss. There is the data source issue which is easy to reproduce, and there is the unrelated DX12 performance related matter. The latter is not easily reproducible and is not affecting all users like you're seeing.

    Your title incorrectly calls this Sim Update 15 when this is a beta! What you're seeing are the satellite photo textures that normally make up the whole world. They are lower resolution than the high res textures such as those used for the airport textures (i.e. tarmac, etc). Normally, the sim covers them up with custom textures of the airport scenery. This is a function of scenery priority where the airport normally has higher priority than the default ground textures and normally covers them up when displaying the airport.
    First, I am fairly sure that Asobo is aware of the problem. Its not something at all new to flight sim. I was a scenery developer for years so I know. Whether this bug is a high priority or not, I dont know. Have you checked out the roadmap for Update 15? I'm not currently running the beta so am not experiencing the issue but I have seen it many times past.
    As long as they are aware of it I wouldnt worry TOO much as they should have this fixed by release time. Instead, you are getting people all worked up and even talking about how they don't want to buy flight sim now because you've frightened them out of it. This seems a bit sensationalistic in my opinion and I ask you to please do your research and check their roadmap before you berate the beta which is called a beta because it may (as in this case) still contain bugs.
    This is my complaint about non-programmer types making content like this, some do it just to get more views. It is dishonest or at the least, irresponsible of people to make degrading video content about beta software. You should at least point all of this out in your video! Otherwise you make it appear that you don't know what you are talking about and people can be hurt by you doing so. You are dabbling in areas that you are not proficient nor have knowledge/training in.

    Hello guys off course i had the same problems with the ground textures in airports, basically the Directx 12 cause the conflicts with the airports textures right now, then just back to Directx 11 and problem fixed, and off course wait and wait again by Directx12 works.

    For now, i switched back to P3D v5.4 and all my headaches disapered. You need to run DX12 version of MSFS to enjoy frame generation, it's a shame for MS/Asobo that this issue has not been fixed since day one, a real immersion breaker for such a breathtaking piece of software.

    I've been experiencing this issue also, discoloration of ground tiles has been a problem with this joke of a flight simulator for a while now, I doubt it'll be fixed with SU 15, that's why I won't waste my money on MSFS 2024 unless it has been proven that this issue has been resolved.

    the first time I had noticed this tile bleeding was in Nice Airport LFMN - where one taxiway is all grassy when it should be tarred.
    this depends on DX11/DX12 and Runway + LFMN airport mod - which tend to cleanup that situation if all these mods are installed.

    Well since there are bugs from release still not addressed and the sim is almost 4 years old!... Bigest being flying over London it never renders correctly and everything looks like poop when you fly choppers low and slow.... so the answer to your header question NO never.......

    Hi, had the same issue. I have a 4070 TI super and the problem was fixed by going to DX 11 / Quality and VSYNC on on my 60HZ Monitor. Hope that helps.

    I think there are in fact two different types of tile popping going on and they aren't realizing it. I see the on-airport surface tile issue like you show. The other issue looks like this ruclips.net/video/gGsNN7T3Lkw/видео.html and is probably what Jorg keeps referring to. I think we need a name specifically for the airport tile popping that makes it clear which issue is being talked about. So maybe they fixed the issue seen in that youtube link but the airport issue remains.

    It's a DX12 problem. There's nothing else to it. I see it a lot at Dillingham in Oahu. I usually reset my system and it repairs itself. A slight pain in the arse but nothing major.
