Reminds me of all the giallo films I binge watched while on pain meds from surgery.
"Assisted by advanced, futuristic robots" - I love how the footage didn't even need to the manipulated for that to be funny.
I love the samurai sound effect for Obi-Wan v Vader.
Perhaps I misunderstand the grindhouse genre, but this trailer promises exactly what you see in the actual movie.

+Joe Gunawan fotosiamo: Oh man, putting John Williams and Mike Post together would be heaven. They are such a part of the soundtrack of my childhood, and the original "Star Wars" is my Number One favorite movie ever, and I loved "The A-Team." Forget about getting B.A. Baracus on a plane, how are they going to get him aboard a spaceship!

Just when you thought Star Wars had nothing new to offer and the well had run dry, this turns back the clock to make it interesting all over again. Superb comedy V.O. and rather splendid freeze-frames transported me back to the Leicester Odeon circa 1977. Excellent job!
Getting a digital print of SW with this filter would be epic.
Where did Hollywood come up with that AAUGH sound effect at 1:51 from? You ALWAYS hear that in movies today.
+Paul Walnuts It's called the "whilheim scream" and it's been around for at least 60 years. I'm sure if you google it you can find some sources on where it came from.

When you think about what happens in the movie:
A guy gets strangled to death in the first 5 minutes.
Luke sees his aunt and uncle turned into Kentucky Fried Chicken.
Han shoots Greedo in cold blood.
Ben Kenobi cuts off some guy's arm in a packed bar.
Then he himself gets cut in half later on.
Good old fashioned family entertainment that I saw as a kid!

darkhelmet951 Not necessarily. I've seen some old sci-fi where they actually pronounce "robot" that way. Off the top of my head I'm remembering an early episode of The Twilight Zone in which a man imprisoned on an asteroid is brought a beautiful android companion to help keep him sane while he serves his sentence. The man who brings it to him calls it a "robut" or "robit." They MIGHT also pronounce it that way in Forbidden Planet, but I don't remember.

The movies were freakin insane, and they weren't tested over and over. They were just nutso. And you went to see them without knowing what kind of crazy shit you were about to see.
It was infinitely better than a MCU movie.

This is what the adults in 1977 thought Star Wars was. Mark Hamil recalled hearing someone yell "That's gonna be on late night TV in 2 weeks" at the screening of the trailer for Star Wars.
