- With the 2023 season over I thought why not kill some time by looking back at the history of our sport, given that back in the day things were just as controversial as they are now. Where better to start then than the 2006 Monaco GP, a weekend filled with Ferrari filled drama and your typical Monaco chaos. Let me know what other races I should cover in the comments below!

I remember Keke Rosberg saying what the Michael did was unacceptable just for his son to do the same thing 10 years later.
that's because Schumacher was not German enough
@@ShadowWalker-ng1itneither is his son tbf
@@illyricus. yeah but his son got a few extra points for driving for a German team /s
@@ShadowWalker-ng1it fair enough
Good artists borrow, great artists steal
Love the idea of revisiting some classic races!
The comedy review is awesome and I’d miss it in the offeason
Yeah he should do some classic Indy car races as well
He should do Singapore 2008 next, I bet most new fans dont know what happened that weekend.
4:10 you can see Briatore thinking: ‘I taught you better, Michael. This is too obvious’
'No, Michael, noooooo!'
Yes indeed. Then Flavio Briatore instructed Nelson Piquet Jr to deliberately crash in the inaugural Singapore Grand Prix in 2008 to help Fernando Alonso jump to the front of the grid and then win the race!
1994 Australian GP flashback
Two things I took from this video...
1. The cars look so much smaller than the modern day F1 cars (& sound better).
2. Schumacher's 'crash' is the least convincing crash I've ever seen. It's like he deliberately crashed, but tried not to make it look obvious, and the result is the most dodgy looking incident imaginable.
Great stuff again! 👏👏👏
the "joining the michelin man in the monaco harbor" line caught me off guard, that shit made be bust out laughing
I’d love to see a comedy review on the 2010 Korean Grand Prix. That race is an underrated shitshow
Agreed! Will add to the list!
Great video! Nice seeing these old races remembered, because as old F1 became current F1, which took a while, there was some entertainment along the way besides the racing. like Indianapolis in 2006, where only 6 cars finished on the lead lap, out of 9 cars still running. Yeah 13 out of 22 cars retired, most cause of damage.
*Indianapolis 2005
@@JohnSmithShields No, it's pretty obvious thats not the race he's on about.
Could you do the 2002 australian Grand Prix next? It´s my faveourite race by far. It´s one of the most chaotic races ever imo.
Also I really love your comedy reviews. Didn´t miss a single one
I think he already did that last year!
Michael started a trend. Now other drivers have made an attempt to bottle qualifying to keep pole but try to be more creative doing it. Schumacher is GOAT you won’t change my mind.
Ah yes the Monaco qualfying "crash". Not one of Michael Schumacher's finest moments. His desperation to keep pole position got the better of him there.
That 2006 season turned out to be more controversial thanks to Ferrari protesting the Mass Damper device Renault were using, that had been cleared as legal in 2005 by the FIA and suddenly banned after the protest.
Many conspiracies folowed like that the FIA had learned of Schumacher's first retirement from the sport long before he officially announced it, so they hamstrung the dominant Renault to give Schumacher a chance to go out as an eight time champion.
Then we had the controversial penalty for Alonso in Italy for "blocking" Felipe Massa in qualifying despite Massa never getting within 100m of Alonso's car.
It all finally went pear-shaped for Schumi in Japan when an engine blew on him for the first time in six years in a race. Alonso famously drove past fist-pumping and won the race, securing the title at Brazil at the final race of the year the Grand Prix after.
These are great! More comedy reviews even though we're in the off-season is always great!
In all of your videos there comes a point when my head goes like "Deus ex music! I like Deus ex music!" So thank you for that 😀
Glad you enjoy it!
Wow Will, you're talking about this race like it was from the prehistoric times, I watched this live on TV then, in my mind these races are still young 🤣 I was doing my Masters then.
If this happened in every monaco gp, i’ll actually have a reason to watch the race.
you need to make more of these! amazing stuff :D
Please do the Japanese GP when it was at Fuji and was raining. Also the year that Fernando passed MS at the 130R which was amazing to watch.
If I remember right, F1 cars didn't have reverse gear at the time, they also didn't have starter motors and could only be started in the pit lane. He obviously parked it, but just clarifying that.
THANK YOU for this! It helps us get through the dry spell. 🏆🏁
2021 Spa - ignore the leadup, just review the race
You gotta bin it properly, the leclerc way
Great review. If this "thing" is a start of a series then my suggestion is a race from 1997 (yes 97") : Ideas: Hungary, Japan and the obvious one...
0:58
Well I guess it's kinda helpful to mention that the 2006 Monaco Grand Prix did INDEED take place in 2006, unlike the 2020 Summer Olympics which took place in 2021.
Love the CCR, good stuff my friend..
Thanks!! 👍
You know it's a good week when you have a comedy review!
God damn these jokes were dark. Good shit will!😂
Should do the 1996 Monaco Grand Prix next
Love the revisits.
Do the 2015 MAVTV 500 at Fontana race.
Pack racing in open wheels, 4-5 wide on the straight at times,
I’d also love to see a Comedy Review of a couple of Cart Races from the past
1:23 Yes, the system absolutely is horrrible.
How was it even possible that Lulu and the lion king of the Dutch ever arrived level on points at Abu Dhabi (2021)?
An F1 miracale
On point adult remarks and comments as always.
Keep it up.
Starwing! The SNES FX chip was beast !
Michael being Michael is not a surprise anymore it was a dirty but really good driver and he wasnt popular under the drivers, but a fan favorite absolutely
If you haven't already looked at it the 2008 Australian grand prix would make for a good comedy review. It was a bizarre war of attrition of a grand prix seeing only 7 of 22 finish in dry conditions following the removal of traction control and abs
Launch Control, ABS hadn't been a thing since 1993.
@@andrewcarter9649 ah yeah u right
Monaco 1996, Belgium 1998 or Nurburgring 1999 please?
Love it. Old F1 was so much more of a reliability lottery. More please. 👍
I just love the Alonso Champion livery. Yellow, lightblue is such a great combo
4:39 caught me unbelievably off guard💀
What a great idea. Would be interesting to see the 2003 Brazil GP
Do the 2011 canadian gp
I love it. He completely forgot how to drive a car
Love that idea! 🙌🏻 How about German GP 2018
and 2019 too
This is so good! As I was too young to take in any of this.
I would love to see one of these for the 2005 Japanese Grand Prix
Every week, you are a legend, Welcome home jesus
I like the idea of reviewing classic races.
OOOOOEEEEEYYYY there are some spicy jokes in this one 😅
Could you please do 2007 Nürburgring race.
You should do the 1989 Japanese Grand Prix for the next episode if you’re going to make this a series.
Canada 08 seems like an obvious option is this becomes a series. Maybe Australia 99, France 89 are good ideas
Do 1985 San Marino GP next where it seems like everyone ran out of gas. Same with Monaco 1982.
How about the 2010 European Grand Prix at Valencia? With Australia invading Finland, blue flags being treated like a joke and penalties being dished out like fucking candy.
I'm loving the lack of pulling punches.
Any chance of Imola 1994?
To be fair I can see why the michael didn't reverse. See Sohiel Ayari in 1997 or 1998 an that spin turn in F3000 and wiping someone out as for why that is a bad idea
Hungry 2006 while we are doing the 2006 ones 😂 Buttons first win, also love the idea
You should do the 1950 British Grand Prix next.
Another idea could be the 1996 Monaco gp , where only 3 drivers finished
Not the last time someone sabotages quali in monaco
I'm sure that all the people commenting "I hate RB dominance" were probably all watching when Merc was dominating
2009 brazil gp has to be next
I continue to vote for a Comedy Review of the 2023 Macau Grand Prix. :P
i’d love to see brazil 2012!
Can you do the 2005 san marino gp?
Find a race where only 5 or 6 cars finish. And there are cars with 2 wheels on the track parked with cars blowing by at 160 mph.
I long for a time without a safety car.
Realistically, Ferrari have been competent for maybe 15 seasons (If I am being generous) since 1980
Okay ngl, you're actually funny
Hold on!...Didn't Nico crash in the spot where Michael managed not to "Crash" in practice?...LOL
New wall of champions location discovered? 😂
Nico parked up at Mirabeau, not Rascass.
could you do 2010 Abu Dhabi
Seb's first title win
Showing these cars without engine sound should be a crime ihmo.
please do the 2007 brazilian grand prix
Call 2023 whatever you want, but seasons like it is what separates the true fans of the sport from the DTSers.
What about reviewing old seasons?? Also more bad teams please
Do 1998 Belgium :)
Everyone who said this season was boring is a baby. You just witnessed the most dominant performance in f1 history. Sit back and enjoy. Everyone will be a fan of this season in 10 years.
Australia 1986 would be a good choice.
Feel free to review as many races as you want.
If there's a race, there's a potential comedy review.
I gave up on F1… except the comedy review.
I get to keep an eye on the proceedings without getting frustrated by the capricious decision making.
Do Monaco 2016
The SNES StarFox music*
St
Starwing in the UK ,which it sounds like my man is from
Deflated 💀
Belgian 1998 is an obvious choice ...
he’s already done that race
That brain dead quip 😂😂
Holy shit my comment was heard 😮😮😮😮😮😮
Only to be replicated and got away with by Checo
Next 1996 monaco
Dear Mr FP1W Sir, would you be so kind (and in the spirit of Christmas), please make a video on the best F1 driver in the history of the sport “Juan Pablo Montoya”!!! And could you please explain why he left F1 in order to never make a right turn again?! Thank you Mr FP1W sir!!
Looking back it looks really bad 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
You should review some indy or (god forbid) nascar just to keep the yanks interested
Michael Schumacher cheated? I'm new, thought he was the best ever.
Equal parts brilliant racer, and rule bender.
@@JohnSmithShields The one more than negates the other. Just like when he tried to break Newton's second rule, and found out that unlike the FIA, trees enforce the rules.
What? Schumacher cheated?
In other news, water is wet.
On a more serious note, it for me is why Cheatmacher isn't a great champion. Well, that and his Kamikaze antics against Hill and Villeneuve. Great champions don't cheat as they don't need to.
Do the multi 21 in sepang next
Classic Brit - disgusting how you talk about Schumacher
You should do imola 94
2011 Canadian Grand Prix must be on the list.
Already done!
