That’s a great question Pat! My understanding based on what I’ve read and is that, durning sleep, the body releases ADH (anti-diuretic hormone) which triggers the kidneys to shut down the flow of fluids from the blood vessels to the bladder. Mouth breathing, just as with sleep apnea, disrupts the release of ADH, which means the kidneys are not properly able to stop fluid from filling the bladder. So breathing through our noses, as we were meant to, allows our bodies to function normally in so many way. Another good example of that is, the dry mouth you get with mouth breathing deprives you of the saliva needed for good dental health. Saliva actually helps prevent tooth decay. I realized, reading James Nester’s book, that the benefits of nose breathing are more than I ever imagined! But even if all it did was keep me from waking up during the night with dry mouth and having to pee, mouth taping would be worth it. 😉 Thanks so much for asking, Lala
Wow, @lalahere ... I'm here watching this video after watching some of the more recent vids first, & I hope you'll take this as a compliment & a testimony to all the things you've been doing... You look younger now in more recent videos than you did here 2 years ago! It's really inspiring me to go through this process and reap the benefits! I've wondered if it will help me keep my mouth closed and have the same benefits as tape, but tape isn't a great option for me because my skin is sensitive to the adhesive on all tape -- even the ones specifically made for sensitive skin. Thanks so much for providing an economical solution and doing all that you do to make it available and understandable for us!
Gosh thanks for the compliment TJ❣️I have Red Light Therapy to thank for most of my skin improvement, but I also think getting great sleep now, has a LOT to do with it too. Although, better lighting in my filming room may to thank as well. 😉 All of the versions of my mouth taping alternatives have been to keep you from breathing through your mouth, weather you sleep with your mouth open a little or a lot. The only version I use now is the thin piece of silicone and I LOVE it. There was no tape that worked for me, smaller pieces ended up stuck in my hair and giant pieces caused too much irritation. I'd love to hear back from you and find out if one of my solutions works for you. Breath well, sleep well. Lala
TJ, so sorry I didn't see this sooner! Not sure how I missed it. First let me give you a few other places you can get the Honest Good bags, since they're still my favorite. You can find the for only $15 on eBay and at Walmart.com. Walmart actually had the colored set for ONLY $9!!!! I ordered it, even though I didn't need more, because I wanted to test them to make sure the colored version was exactly the same. They shipped me the clear set and said the colored one was currently out of stock. Still for $9, I sure don't mind having more of my favorite bags for future testing. As for the drooling, I'm working on two new videos right now (#6 & #7 in the series), #6 is a new shape for the mouth piece that is not only more comfortable but it's turning out to be a great solution for everyone I've had tried, who experienced excessive saliva! I hope you'll check back for both new videos, Lala Walmart: www.walmart.com/ip/Honest-Goods-Silicone-Food-Grade-Reusable-Storage-Bag-Pack-of-7/973734030?from=/search www.walmart.com/ip/Honest-Goods-7-Piece-Silicone-Food-Storage-Bags-Multi/760492118?athbdg=L1100&from=/search This eBay seller is currently showing 383 available. www.ebay.com/itm/115822358288?hash=item1af78cef10:g:MD8AAOSwfQ1kehVE&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA8Pn9xzccHCpsvZBamNOXFxgGWvGBd5DxOBcUoyDqYCXsGzSZuAHA71Tz%2FjvvwsYTfUtXyNJHMhaCRy4A4dHvz2stbdWOT24rno7XXPceaIhg1%2BwbuxyvOA0YLjR1Qj%2FznR9NNoxqB8VMtulTYBFNy37VJe%2BmnBsfxMk%2BamNmjajfXtbqkOi3YSwuLBP%2FOdkx2VDTIcsGtHL%2BF0Ua9AW8wfRCMzjy%2FJjqDus9ZJ2sOU46cYImStcw4pLaIcJi8%2BOVWDo%2FZ4l%2FndwwYHL5UeoCrn6zT4GQV%2BG%2FrryItZSf%2FxUqrDJcef2KR1Pf1SMF7k2%2BHw%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABFBMqIubyuxi
Hi Jonathon, So glad you liked the video, I hope you'll check back in a week or so for the final update... and the new solution that's knock your socks off. 😉 Lala
@@jonathonsalazar7011 Thank you so much Jonathon for your help last night, you're the only one willing to walked around with me trying to find them! I bought the silicone bags at Target before, but I wanted to show the different brands stores have. They're available on Amazon too. I better not say too much here, since that particular kind of silicone is the big reveal in the video that's coming up in a few days. I'll be sure to pop over to your department and say hi next time I'm in the store late at night again. How cool that you actually came to see what I was going to be doing with the silicone 😊. Lala
@@lalahere yea i ws definetly curious to see what mouth taping was since i had never heard of it. You're very welcome for the help in the store. You should come see what we have tonight. Looking forward to your next video. Your smile is infectious!
Hello Lala, I purchased the Difiney mouth guard that is similar to the Suibety on Amazon. Your reply below has caused me to wait before I try it or return it. Thank you.
I'm going to be posting a video within the week, with a solution for excessive saliva! I was actually in the middle of editing when I had a medical problem, that has me on strict bedrest. I had the same problem early on, it does get better but still, it can be annoying. If you select notifications, you'll know when the video gets posted. Lala
Hi John, from what I'm able to find, it seems like the Suibety mouth guard has been discontinued. However, I'm no longer using any of the mouth guards shown in Part 1 or Part 2! My final update is of an entirely new mouth taping alternative, made with something that won't be discontinued or go out of stock. All you'll need is one item and scissors to make my new, crazy simple, crazy easy and nearly invisible mouth taping alternative! Unless you need to wear a mouth guard for teeth grinding or TMJ, the new mouth taping alternative will be a better solution for you. I'll be filming the new video as soon as I'm back in town, so I should be able to have it up around April 15th. I'll also see if I can find other other brands for you and mention them in Part 3, in case you prefer the styles in Part 1 & 2. Lala
I wonder if it's the brand you of tape you're using? But if you don't like the tape anyway, maybe you'll have better luck with one of my solutions. Lala

I didn't love mouth taping so I'll have to try this!
I didn't like the tape either, even though I loved benefits I had from the very first night. I think you'll like it too Oliver! Lala
Does anybody have a problem with saliva immediately when you put in the mouthguard? For some reason it makes me produce a lot a lot of saliva.
