One of my favorite college memories was watching this with two huge football players, OL guys. One dude loved the movie and wanted to watch it. The other guy said he never saw it and thought it sucked. Dude 2 couldn't stop himself from humming along at first. Then the two of them were singing every song. It was hilarious. Dude 2 had to admit he loves the movie and had memorized every line.

Love Grease!!!! It’s a laugh a minute with very risqué, hilarious lines that goes right over the heads of younger viewers, making it a great family movie. I’ve lost track of the numbers of times I’ve watched it. It’s great. ❤
Grease is just one giant load of cheesy fun - with the world's best soundtrack attached to it. (Eddie and the Cruisers is the other one. On the Dark Side, Tender Years, Hang up my Rock 'n Roll Shoes, Seasons in Hell are ALL gold).
1978. I was a whole 19 when I went to the theatre to see this. Great tunes a real cool movie. Great selection y'all. 🤟🤟
My daughter is 15. One of the proudest days I had was when she came to me and started telling me about Grease and loved it because she had watched it with her friends. But disappointed because I had tried to get her to watch it! Lol.😂❤
Lol I was dancing along with you Tasha. 😂 and I’m sure there’s probably more girls who are fans of the movie just for the fact that there’s a romance element, but it’s definitely not a chick flick. I think it’s hard to judge what the movie will be like by just the songs. But I gotta say I’m not sure how you got chick flick from this song. lol. But it’s definitely worth the watch! At the very least, a lot of pop culture references are made from this movie so I think you’d enjoy learning where they come from.
Also I just have to say, I first saw this movie when I was like 8 years old and I loved it so much! But I didn’t see it again until HS when the anniversary dvd released and I could not believe how raunchy and inappropriate it was. 😂😂 It had all flown right over my head.
I saw this film in the cinema when I was a little kid. Rizzo's song is my favourite from the film. I also like Beauty School Dropout - Frankie Avalon.
I still have Rizzo's song on my mp3 player.

I was 14 when "Grease" came out and my friends and I couldn't get enough of it. We had played the hell out of the album and would act out the songs. I remember listening to the lyrics to this song and thinking, "Wow, they allowed them to actually SING this song with lyrics like this?" lol But, yes, a fun, fun movie. And I remember the boys in my school liked it too. : )
I got the record of the soundtrack from Grease in 6th or 7th grade….for my bday. 🤗❤️🇺🇸

Lost count of the number of times I went to see this in the cinema when it came out during school summer holidays,I think it may have been 10 or 11 times,but going to the cinema was a lot cheaper back then.

There is another reaction couple that I watch. The husband was not feeling the idea of watching the movie. He only gave in because of the subscribers. He too thought of it as a chick flick. That man ended up loving every inch of the movie. It is now one of his favorites. He loved the music and the storyline. And he loved knowing the context of the songs. Watch the movie for your channel, with edits of course. You will love it! Then go watch his reaction on Rob Squad Reactions. His wife was ever so happy that finally agreed to watch it, and came out understanding her love for the movie.
As the only boy with 23 girl cousins I saw this with 6 of them when it came out and within 6 months they taught me to dance to the entire movie we would put on shows for the entire family later on I found that the girls loved a guy that could dance and have fun. Thanks John and my crazy cousins .
I get your hesitancy, but you’ll enjoy it. I used to live a couple of blocks from the high school where they filmed it (Venice High). Neat to walk around the “set” 😎
Yep have three sister growing up...yep seen Grease a few times to say the least, however, watch it for Olivia is a good enough reason (RIP). The movie grows on you though.

I was just listening to some of your country reactions and noticed y'all talking about duets between Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton.
Since it's the season and all, y'all should check out some of their classic Christmas duets. Way back in 1984 they did a t.v. Christmas special and recorded a studio album to go with it. The album is called "A Christmas to Remember" and has really amazing modern classics like "I'll Be Home With Bells On" and "I Believe in Santa Claus."
While I'm at it, check out Alabama's classic Christmas album, "Christmas in Dixie," and Kenny Rogers' Christmas album "The Gift." LOTS of really great songs on those.

I've got a couple for you from the same movie "Paint Your Wagon". The first is "Mariah", the second is sung by a recent favorite actor of yours, a younger Clint Eastwood singing "Gold Fever".
Grease was standard Movie day entertainment in High School Choir, it would always be played when we were done with the Quarterly Concert

It's the movie adaptation of the theater musical of the same name. I think I watched this movie about eight times in the theater when it came out, and know the words to all the songs. Didn't make me any less of a man, I'm a retired Marine, so go watch the movie and leave your preconceptions at home.

The movie Grease was first a play on Broadway so the music was written in the 50’s style. I’m 50/50 on whether it’s a chick flick. The show, however, was not just for girls. 😄✌️

My grandad copied this on VHS for me and my sister when we were like 5 and 6. He cut out all the adult themes, and my sister and I thought this song was half as long as it was for many years, lol.

There’s lots of naughty guy talk in this flick! The dancing in the streets scene from Fame is great with Irene Cara who passed this year.
It is not a Chick Flick. It is cool and really entertaining.

As a kid in the 70s I want allowed to listen to this song because of how dirty it was.
I saw this at a drive in when i was about five or six, has remained a favorite, and unlike te crtics I did like Grease 2. If you so't compare it to the first ne and see it more a a stand alone rather tan a seuel it isn't bad. May be the only one who nticed Didi Conn (Frenchy) disappeared halfway through.

NO the MOVIE does NOT CATER to girls!!! Are you kidding?? The most fun was when the movie came back in the theaters as a sing-a-long (the words to all the songs are printed at the bottom of the movie, and everyone in the theater sang out loud along with the movie, and doing motions that the actors were doing in the film. They did the same thing for the movie "Mama Mia" when it came back to the theaters. I HOPE he watches it with you Tasha!

Grease was made in the 70's, but was based on the 50's. Back when school's actually taught life skills. They stopped that after I left school. That's how we got millennials.
What's always confused me about Grease. It comes across as so wholesome, just a bunch of teens trying to navigate their way through high school, but when you listen to the lyrics of this song, it's absolutely filthy. 😂
*some other great movie songs; Anything by "Eddie and the Cruisers". (Aka; John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown band.). I'd recommend "Garden of Eden" "Mariya" or "Some like it hot". All great bangers.

This is the second time in a week I've flashed back to my senior year of high school, performing in Grease in drama club. Our performance of Greased Lightning wasn't nearly as good as this one. Much more censored, too.

Great movie. Not a chick flick but I get it. John Travolta and Olivia Newton John ; can't go wrong with that combo. I wasn't aware they no longer had shop and home ec. I graduated in 1982. I know that was a long time ago. I guess computer classes must have taken those slots.

I was 15 when this movie came out, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. In what reality is this a chick flick? Smh. I was raised on pub rock in Australia but the music in Grease was genius. Great memories.
