- The most common way to play magic is to open packs with your friends and gradually build decks with what you have. So we opened 12 booster boxes worth of Lost Caverns of Ixalan and built the strongest decks we could with hopes to inspire your own brews at home!

With block constructed not having been a thing in years, it's honestly really fun to see what block constructed would be like in current day magic!

I'd love to see more of these draft/sealed type videos for new sets! It's a nice glimpse into the new cards and archetypes they contain

I kind of did a similar thing on Arena at release day. Very fun. Way more than the few limited events I've played in there. 40 packs, 4 golden packs and a bunch of wildcards just from those packs. But the decks still got kind of janky 😆
I believe they're playing, essentially, Set Constructed.
I would *love* to see more of this. So much fun to see constructed decks like people make at the kitchen table

Just a little rules mistake that wouldn't have changed anything: Preacher of the Schism wouldn't get its attack trigger since it's already attacking when it enters the battlefield, similar to Kaalia of the Vast.
I really loved this episode! I would like to see you guys try out an actual draft as well- I feel like that kind of decision making in limited fits your editing style and videos well, too. But this was awesome as well!

love the concept! personally i think limited is the easiest way of presenting magic to new players, and showing high power limited it's the best way to make them love competitive!

In the first match the Hulking Raptor shouldn't have been able to be cast because cavern of souls was on human
Cavern of souls can add a colorless mana. There are no restrictions on that mana

Hulking raptor is double green is the issue

The Grim Captain looked really fun to me in spoiler season and it looked super fun in that game, too. Definitely gonna play with that goofy nonsense.
You can theorectically play the grim captain in limited as merfolk as u/g pirates are r/u dinos are r/g and then pirate or black or white.
As the thrones is a decend enabler potentially a b/u, b/r or b/g base is best splashing one of the other colours for the missing creature type.
@@XenithShadowIf you use UB, you could use the two land cycling dinos and have all creature types in two colors!
@@shapied Yeah, the blue one seems really good for it. I'm thinking for constructed, Trumpeting Carnosaur would be a great enabler for the same reason -- can be discarded directly from hand to remove something on the board, plus it's a great thing to get back with the Grim Captain's attack trigger.
@@shapied Oh yeah i forget each colour had a cycling dinosaur. This is for limited though as in constructed you could go r/g run the carnosuar the other person suggested and use the inistrad vampires instead well the red ones.
But yeah U/B base is the way to go in limited to use grim throne.

I'd love to see a sort of sealed league from y'all whenever a standard set comes out. Start with the classic six pack sealed pools and then add some number (probably two would be cool) of packs each week.

Everyone's talking about the not being able to play the dinosaur at 4:44 because a lack of green mana, but Thoralf also doesn't get the attack trigger off of grim captain at 23:10 because it did not attack. It was put into play tapped and already attacking.
He should of gotten the trigger off the captain, it was the dinosaur that came in tapped and attacking, not the captain.
@@jonbyrne86Lotus is talking about the vampire that has an attack trigger that came in attacking from the grim captain. it has the attack trigger Toralf drew a card off of. (which he shouldn't have because it came in already attacking from the grim captain trigger)

Didn't really end up mattering, but in game 2 Carl never sacrificed any nonland permanents when Thoralf attacked him with the Grim Captain.

Y’all should try planes deck. Basically you’re only allowed to use cards from a specific plane. So like Ravinca would have a lot of options since we’ve visited it so many times.
Wouldn't Dominaria be the obvious choice, given that almost all the early sets happen there?
