  • Are you stumped on how to end your cord necklace or bracelet? Lindsay will show you how easy it is to make an adjustable knot with your cord ends. The adjustable knot allows for your pieces to have versatility in their length. Take a short necklace to a long necklace with just a slide of the knots. Use this technique with satin, leather, nylon or cotton cords.

    not your fault mine.

    I was trying this on a vintage necklace from the '70s that was my mom's. I watched 10 other videos and felt really stupid. I slowed down this one and watched it over and over and I think I got it, but the leather is so old, it doesn't slide and I could never get it over my head. Either my head is huge or at some point, my mom cut the original cord not understanding it's necessary. An hour later and much frustration, I'll take a break and try again tomorrow with some longer leather cord! I really would like to know how to make these knots--they look so nice for casual necklaces and are super practical. Thank you.

    Thank you so much! I really needed this video. I’m genderfluid, so pronoun bracelets are a big thing for me, but those elastic cords are so hard to use. Luckily, I had the right materials on hand to do this. This is the perfect knot, and I’ll definitely use it more in the future.

    when making a bracelet, how do I determine the length of my cord? This was a great video. Look forward to more from you.

    • @FusionBeadsSea
      @FusionBeadsSea  6 лет назад +4

      We're happy to help! A great fit is dependent upon your project and your needs. So for instance…
      - Our designer has a 6.5 inch wrist. If you want to have just an adjustable closure, no clasp. It needs to fit over your hand at the largest undone stage. She also like to work with enough cord to make the knot. Estimating this she uses about 1 foot to 1.5 feet of cord to get the best fit for a 6.5 inch wrist.

    Will satin cord and wax cotton cord fray? Can it be burned like the parachute cord or should I use glue? Thank you

    • @FusionBeadsSea
      @FusionBeadsSea  5 лет назад +1

      Satin cord can fray, but you won't want to burn it - just use a bit of glue on the end. Waxed cotton cord doesn't so much fray as separate, and while you can apply some low heat to melt the wax and seal the end, a dab of glue will also work!

  • @everydayelena
    @everydayelena 4 года назад

    How long are these

    • @FusionBeadsSea
      @FusionBeadsSea  4 года назад

      The adjustable knot is as long or as short as you wish to make it. The length is determined by the starting length of your piece.

    I can't do this with elastic cord.. can you help me?? 😓

    • @FusionBeadsSea
      @FusionBeadsSea  5 лет назад +1

      This technique won't really work with elastic cord, but since elastic cord stretches it doesn't need an adjustable knot!

    Cord A cord B is just confusing. I wish you did this with an actual necklace

    • @FusionBeadsSea
      @FusionBeadsSea  5 лет назад +1

      On an actual necklace or bracelet you will also have a side A and side B, if it helps to think of it that way! You can also look at the tutorial on our website: www.fusionbeads.com/adjustable-knot
