    The needle used in this tutorial is a piece of tigertail jewelry wire folded into a V shape! You can view jewelry wire here: bit.ly/jewelry-wire
    We have used a high quality, Japanese monofilament elastic. You can view it here: bit.ly/jewelry-elastic

      Is there any other wire that would work the same as Tigertail? Would Wildfire wire or any other wire work the same?

      Thats very smart to use Tiger tail in a V. It ready saves money and time. Love it. What is the guage of the Tiger tail though?

      Ours is 0.3mm. Ours is quite a high quality tigertail so it lasts really well as a needle too!

      @FAITH2x4x7 4 года назад +6

      Nita - I agree the knots don't hold with the elastic and it's very tricky to use. The only knot I find that does hold is when you hold two strands together and tie a wrap knot (not sure what you call the knot) and then tie a overhand knot on top of that with a dab of glue. But, sadly what you wind up with is a big lump especially if you use smaller beads. I am convinced what a jewelry manufacturer uses from a bulk supplier and what they sell the hobbyist in craft stores are two different products, I mean it just can't be this hard.
      I am going to try this technique...but it also seems to waste a lot of elastic. you just can't win...lol

      No I don’t pre stretch
      It is not necessary with a mono filament elastic

      @@beadspider okay that's cool because I know when you use bands like stretch magic it is absolutely necessary or else your customers beads will eventually stretch and it look terrible

    Thank you for showing + explaining how to do this. I saw some beaded bracelets like this (but pink) at a store but they are way too big for my wrist + they just fall right off (even though they are elastic) so I thought I could restring them but had no idea how. This explains it!

    Just a marvelous video! You’re an excellent teacher. 😊. Regarding another’s comment, I think a black mat would have made it much harder to see because many of the beads are dark. I guess we all perceive things in our own way!
