I have so much more luck with flat stretch cord and I always double cord and sometimes triple cord my bracelets depending on the mm of the beads. It's always nice to see different methods to learn new techniques!

Welp This made me remembered when I was 10 years old me and my aunt made a promise that if I did very good and pass 4th grade she will buy me a bracelet kit lol
I find a bead with a bigger hole usually to use next to the knot, so I can pop it under. Or use a feature bead (usually 6mm silver with a 2mm hole) so you can pop the knot under that. Good luck 💫

You can put a feature bead on or use a smaller cord. Not much you can do if the bracelet is already made! 💫🌻
