Wonderful video, you have obviously attached your camera and it's the best view for this type of small detail. FANTASTIC SANDY! Keep up the great work and teachings us also. ;-) from Australia
Yes, you have to squash down the coils. That’s the only way for them to hold onto the cord. You can just flatten the end few coils, but the more you flatten the more secure the hold will be.
Speaking of glue, how about a Friday Findings about glues and adhesives? The packages don't always describe how the glue will dry (clear, hard, flexible, etc.), or the best jewellery applications for each. I use mostly GS Hyper Cement, Zap Gel, and (recently without initial success) E6000, but am intrigued by BeadFix and Super New Glue--I just don't know their drying properties, thus how best to use them. As I'm writing this, I'm thinking you may have done an overview previously(?)--future FFs could cover specific adhesives more deeply. Thanks for all the great information and inspiration!

Thanks for the nice comment, Andrea. 😊Glad you like the video!
Thank you for this tutorial! Should I use split rings or jump rings to the cord findings?
It really is entirely up to you. Split rings are more secure, but are more of a pain to put on.
Great video, very useful ❤
Thanks for letting me know you found the video helpful. 🙂
Are the coil ends supposed to be smashed flat? I thought they were supposed to stay round but maybe Im wrong. Please if you can clarify🙏

Thanks for the video! Where did you get the silk cords? I love how they look, but haven't found that type yet in my search.
Sorry I can’t be more helpful, I think I got them at a bead show years ago. 🤷♀️

Where do you buy your cord?
Craft stores like Michaels or Hobby Lobby usually.
