@Grenzer 23 One of the big issues with the Clone Wars’ ground combat tactics was that... There weren’t any. Or rather, there were, but they were geared towards Jedi. I think Geetsly made a video on it, but the Jedi were using tactics in the Clone Wars from the last war they’d been part of, which consisted of ONLY Jedi versus combatants. This meant that the tactics used during the Clone Wars were designed to be beneficial to Jedi as it would let them close the distance so they could use their lightsabers against the enemy. Clones, of course, were not Jedi but were still beholden to follow their General’s orders, and so they charged with their General. This tactic got a lot of clones killed, but the Jedi were winning battles so they saw it as just a normal cost of war. The droid army of the CIS, on the other hand, didn’t really NEED to use tactics since they outnumbered the clones by a LOT during the war, and the droids weren’t alive so if they were scrapped, it was just a matter of replacing them which didn’t take very long or as many credits compared to making a new clone. So, they just said “alright, charge the enemy directly and crush them under the sheer numbers of droids we have” as their standard ground combat tactic.
Seeing the geonosis battle again reminds me of how unreal it was. Both parties just running at eachother instead of searching for cover. And i'm aware there was not alot of cover in the open fields but the clones could have lay down and they could have used advancing techniques. Oh well its a movie after all.
Ok, fun question: how do you think these things would do against land mines? In my opinion, they'd be utterly trashed. If they step on the mines and blow their feet off, they won't be able to walk, sending their bodies falling down into the other mines. What do you think?
I love how the CIS are basically AnCaps so a lot of the war droids they made have cool backstories where they were originally used for corporate interests and to repress workers. It was just a happy coincidence that they were strong enough for a separatist military, plus I’m sure it saved money and resources but that’s fitting. I think there’s a reason so many people simp for the Seppies and it’s because the Seppies were some creative organizations.
SWRC does a good job making these things as scary as they should be. In the first level in the battle of Geonosis you are just wrecking droids left and right as a commando before rendezvous with delta squad, and you turn a corner and there it is. A spider droid the size of a 4 story building just decimating clones left and right and you immediately go from kicking ass to hiding while you wait for a LAAT to save your ass. I’d love to see a tally of how many times an LAAT has been the one thing that saves an entire mission in the clone war.
My favorite Star Wars meme was one where the spider walker had timbs photoshopped onto its feet and it had top text like “oh shit here comes dat boy” Bottom text: “what will he do???😳😳😳” And it was a little bit of a deep fried meme.

Horizon Zero Dawns machines vs the Clones?🤔 I think it would be interesting, especially Thunderjaws, Deathbringers, Corruptors, Stormbirds, Rockbreakers and the acurssed Fireclaws
Clones would hace a more massive PTSD than those fights with the Confederacy ones. Yesterday I had hard time bringing done the one the breathes fire and throws fireballs. I shoot arrows, arrows, arrows, also those small bombs and. After I killed the annoying tracker ones I kept shooting it with random arrows. Until it died. I still dont have really strong weaponry. Today also had a hard time at a bandit camp. Now I have anti armor arrows and a new bow. If clones fought one of those or worse the giant ones like T Rex looking one with no tanks and few explosives, includings the bird one and a Corruptor which are a real pain in the ass some of those are gonna end up in a mental asylum ( if there're ones in Star Wars) .
How do you think they'd (the clones) fair against the terminators from the terminator series? Also how do you think other machine armies in fiction do against the clones? If you have any knowledge on them.
It’s weird how Spider Droids seem to be so iconic, but I have no memory of seeing them outside of video games, Attack of the Clones, and various LEGO media……same goes for the Hailfire Droids
So that's the Droid Clones feared the most. I never considered them such a big threat. I'd only ever faced them in the original Battlefront games campaigns on Geonosis, Felucia, and Kashyeek, and in those cases, they didn't cause too much trouble. In the case of Geonosis, it was because well there was so much going on during that battle I would barely come across them too much. For Felucia I was too distracted by all the other horrors like the Acklays, to notice them. And on Kashyeek I had Wookie backup and would try to use the trees to my advantage to snipe people so I never came face to face with them. So I guess I was very lucky.
I know that OG9 is just a designation but I keep thinking Original Gangster Nine with one stsnding on two legs wearing Adidas shoes that have colorful fat laces, a jump suit, other legs crossed, a necklace made of clone troopers with Captain Fasma as the center piece, a pair of square rimmed Cazel glasses over its top laser dish and a Kangol hat.
What about just hitting the laser dish itself? Or any part on the gun assembly? Just so silly to ignore it as a target, and it shouldn't be that armored, it still need to turn, etc..
One of my biggest gripes with Star Wars vehicles is their speed. 90 kph? On that thing? The Hailfire can move at 45 kph....and it is designed to be speedy. For that matter an AT-AT can move at 60kph, definitely don't know why Veers didn't just sprint the damn things up to the Rebel base.

Separatist: lets send the OG9 spider droid. Aka the fuck around and find out droid.
I remember many a time walking around geonosis when *BUUEEW* and I’m dead.
Could you imagine these beasts with energy shields? Like holy f*ck that would be terrifying😳😳
Didn't think they was that destructive. Yea after ur video I can see why they was feared. Wow. Cut pieces all over the battlefield. Crazy.
Always reminded of the Skeeters from Mario 64
I'd love videos on the Hailfire, dwarf spider droid and other tanks, vehicles and droids.
Just a general overview about the difference between vehicles piloted by droids & vehicles that were droids themselves & answer the question “why?”…
Oh my, and all that implies!
I like how you use the og battlefield loading screen as your intro
Anyone else find the dwarf spider droid rather cute?
WOW!! I never knew the Homing Spider Droid worked like that!! So in a sense they were mobile command centers!! Way cool!! ❤️😵❤️😵❤️
Al of this guys titles: the country that even Germany was to scared to fight
Imagine if the republic didnt have literal plot armor during the clone wars
Ah, the daddy spider droid, married to the crab droid and gave birth to the dwarf spider
You know the feeling of going into Battle of Geonosis on BF2 Classic and seeing one of these? Fear. True fear.
Gotta fear the OG! Respect!
Baktoid makes my favorite star wars vehicles
This was their-
THEY GOT A AC130 IN THE AIR!
What about just hitting the laser dish itself? Or any part on the gun assembly?
Just so silly to ignore it as a target, and it shouldn't be that armored, it still need to turn, etc..
The droids you really fear you dont live to tell the tale
So proud I picked up 2 of these at retail back in 2008👨🏽🦳
One of my biggest gripes with Star Wars vehicles is their speed.
90 kph? On that thing? The Hailfire can move at 45 kph....and it is designed to be speedy.
For that matter an AT-AT can move at 60kph, definitely don't know why Veers didn't just sprint the damn things up to the Rebel base.
I still have nightmares about the dwarf spiders in Republic Commando
As an arachnophobic person, I'd totally freak out if I ever had to fight one of these
I wonder if you could reasonably fit a few of those on a ship (like with the AT-TE or AT-AT), would it work?
Interesting question
They call this nugget a spider yet poor fella has 4 legs
