      It's very disturbing how she deliberately chose not to even acknowledge or thank Sarah Lane, who danced the difficult parts as her double and her face CGId on top of. Acknowledging the help of a professional Ballerina would not in any way have detracted from her own hard work and the praise she earned. Not cool

    There is a gigantic difference between acting and dancing... Natalie didn't won that oscar for being a great dancer. It doesnt matter if its her or not dancing in the movie, because what they were judging here was not her dancing, it was her acting! And she won that oscar because she was a great actress. So you people just shut it about that dancer being the true winner... she is NOT an actress, she danced... natalie acted... and natalie won for best actress... the end!

      Countess Romanov Your comment is irrelevant. Her acting was brilliant and that's what earned her the Oscar award. Not her dancing. She did perform in some scenes and committed to training herself to learn the basics. No one expected more.

    • @clarenceparents4945
      @clarenceparents4945 7 лет назад +56

      Her performance was definitely Oscar worthy. The Academy already confronted the rumours - you are late - they voted for her as the winner because of her acting, dedication and transformation. NOT because of her pointe skills. You should do some research before judging the decisions made by the Academy. It was also very obvious that no one expected Natalie to do ballet at such an advanced level. If you think the voters based their vote on that, you clearly do not know how the Academy works.

    • @clarenceparents4945
      @clarenceparents4945 6 лет назад +37

      Your logic is flawed. The dancer danced. Natalie acted. Oscars are granted for acting NOT for dancing. She deserved the Oscar. The double agreed too. Majority of her scenes were not ballet/pointe related. Her acting abilities during those scenes were outstanding. That is why she received an Oscar. Absolutely well deserved. I do not believe you understand the purpose of an Oscar-and the difference between dance and drama.

    • @clarenceparents4945
      @clarenceparents4945 6 лет назад +27

      It's like you intentionally ignore what I say. The ballet dancer definitely did NOT deserve the Oscar. Most people would disagree with you and your logic. Natalie Portman portrayed her character flawlessly and her Oscar is well-deserved. I think you fail to understand the difference between an actress and a ballet dancer and you also fail to understand when I say that majority of the scenes in Black Swan did not include scenes involving ballet. She won it for her role and her portrayal of the character Nina.

      Aubrey is stupid but Audrey Hepburn, the actress being spoken of, is quite brilliant as well.

    I miss the way they used to address nominees personally. It felt like a far more powerful and reasonable way to make the actors feel like they deserve their nomination.

    Am I the only one that didn’t know Natalie had children... WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN?

    • @rutha1276
      @rutha1276 5 лет назад +13

      Markus Nashorn that’s so stupid. Wait did she say it was her most important role or she didn’t and chose to put other things above her kids?

    • @rutha1276
      @rutha1276 5 лет назад +29

      Markus Nashorn honestly I do think it’s dumb. Many women would put their children over everything and some women should understand that. Natalie got where she is not by being born into it, she worked for it for an extremely long time at the young age of 11, so to hate on her for something she worked for is ridiculous. It’s completely normal for her to favor her child over her career. My mother favors her children more than she favors herself, she’d do anything for us. To me Natalie can do whatever she wants and if In the future she ends up retiring early to spend time with her family, then so be it. Family is the only real thing you’ll have in this industry, and it’s the only people who you have at the end of the day while millions of people hate you, so of course she should put her children first; they’re gonna be the ones to take care of her and actually have a relationship with her when she’s old and has no one else in the fake, lonely and sad world.

    Why everyone is making Star Wars jokes?, I know it's funny and all that stuff but the comments should highlight more the work she did here. What an amazing movie!!! Loved every second of it. Natalie is from another world in Black Swan.

      Yeah, it really was a huge deal when it came out, I remember it. So many years later, all people can do is remember stupid Star Wars jokes. I am a SW fan, but it's really disrespectful of an artist's ability to completely ignore their other work.
