I know I have an o-ring set in the garage somewhere and couldn't find them, so I tried putting one wrap of teflon tape over the o-ring area and it actually has been working for a week now.

My bathroom sink looks like this one except the handles are metal I unscrewed the cold handle...it's amazing what a person discovers after they buy a old house...whoever built this house didn't install shut off valves handles on either the toilets or the bathroom sinks but anyway once I removed the cap & the screw I cannot remove the handle...it feels like it's cemented on...will water spray everywhere if I don't shut off the main water shut off in my crawl space if I can just get the handle off if I get past that I'd have to go under my crawl space to shut off the water to my house... I'm worried about breaking the valve while try to pull off the handle...

That's just a cheap faucet for the price of that repair kit. I would have just spent a few more dollars and replaced it with a brand new faucet that would be nice and shiny new
