I'm back !! Kevin you have shown the way to boil eggs. I said I would report back and I am very happy to comment on this video. So many recipes truly fail. Many say to not add salt. The other people who have hard boiled egg videos need to watch this and just do it. It works just like Kevin says. I just want to go back to all the others and where I gave a negative comment, replace it with a link to this recipe. Thank you Kevin.
@@KReesethebeast Hmm... funny, I came to the comment section just to comment on the salt thing. Why is it I never use salt, and they peel right off with no problem? Its not the salt, it's the cold water shock treatment after cooking that does it. You're just wasting salt. Sorry to burst your bubble on this one, but I just figured you should know. Thanks for the video anyway, everything else is great. Cheers..
It has everything to do with the freshness of the eggs. Sounds like you live in the country. Try it with a new York egg that is two weeks old when you buy it.
WOW --- been hard-boiling eggs for 50+ years, have never been able to peel eggs leaving no nicks or literally destroying the egg. Just boiled a dozen following your instructions and each one peeled easily and cooked to perfection!! Thanks Kevin Reese...

I raise chickens. The reason that some boiled eggs are more difficult to peel is because they are too fresh. Very fresh eggs are hard to peel. Older eggs are easier. If you are getting fresh eggs then boil them with baking soda. This will release the shell from the meat. Shells will slip off.
Older eggs peel more easily because a pocket of air gets between egg and shell. I've been using baking soda successfully for years to make the eggs peel quickly. When the eggs are cooked, I cool them with cold water and ice cubes. Then one by one roll the eggs in my hands until the shell is cracked and just peel off the shells.

Just a tip, you can take that hot pot off the burner as soon as you cover it, to stop that boiling. Then let sit in the hot water 13 minutes. This way the yolk of your eggs will be all yellow, without that green tint they get when hot for too long. (Makes prettier deviled eggs, don't ya know?) You only need to bring the water to a boil, but as soon as it does, the eggs do not need to continue boiling at all. Hard-cooked eggs, as opposed to hard-boiled eggs, are more tender. You as SO RIGHT on the salt. I give mine a real good dose, it never seeps through the shell, but it sure does make peeling a whole lot easier.

Thanks for asking for my recipe, Bobbie Sue Sanders. I did Kevin Reese's technique and it works GREAT! except I would let the eggs set in the hot water no more than 12 minutes (I left for 15 minutes and the yolks were a little dark). When done, tap the ends and roll lightly on counter .. the peelings come right off! WOO HOO! Here is my recipe, and everyone LOVES my deviled eggs! ( I think it's the vinegar tang that makes them so great) .. I do not use mustard for this. Donna’s Recipe for Deviled Eggs: (24 eggs) Mash 24 yolks (save 4 whites) with fork. With spatula Stir in 1/3 cup onion flakes (or 1/ 4 cup yellow onion, chopped) - 5-6 tsp. white vinegar - 2 1/2 tsp. Himalania salt - 1/4-1/2 tsp. Sprouts black pepper (amount depends on taste). Stir in 4 remaining whites, chopped fine), and Vegenaise or mayo (I use Best Foods if no Vegenaise). Spoon into halved boiled eggs. Sprinkle lightly (or more) with cayenne pepper. TADA NOTES: 1) Real onions are moister than flakes, so use less mustard; but I prefer onion flakes for this recipe. Also, flakes can handle more vinegar and mayo. 2) Miracle Whip, Best Foods, etc. are a little nasty because of whatever, including that they have icky salt. They are also wetter than Vegenaise, so use less of them and add less salt.
I do same but take off burnner for 15 minutes. Immediately place eggs in bowl of ice water. The sudden chill seperates eggs from shell. Fresher the egg, harder to peel if not using ice method. If not peeling eggs right away, using a little vinegar when boiling. Gives them a purple tint so you know they've been cooked. We had 6 kids all grown now. But they would sometimes crack an uncooked egg when a sibling swapped eggs for a joke. Lol Remember too, if eggs float to top of cold water when you start to boil, discard. Spoiled egg. We always put salt in but different reason. If shell cracks during cooking, contents stay in shell instead of spreading out everywhere. Old trick my aunt showed me back on her farm in Wva where my job was gathering the eggs from dozens of hens. Then fried in bacon grease on huge wood/coal stove in iron cast skillet. Oops, sorry for the trip down memory lane but was so good
I use to live in the gym & ate a lot of egg whites. A while back, I found out that the protein is actually in the yolk...which makes more sense being that it's the protein source for the baby chick. Also, there is NO cholesterol in eggs & we can eat as many as we want. We've been lied to! Just thought I'd pass it on.😉 Great info vid tho! Literally trying it right now.
I used to hear the same thing but recently there has been more talk on the value of eating the whole egg as opposed to just eating the yolk. So I have been eating more whole hard boiled eggs! I hope your eggs turned out good! Thanks for watching and dropping a comment!
@@KReesethebeast Yeah, the whole egg. & Yes! My eggs turned out amazing!! Been cooking way longer than I care to say & it was always hit or miss. Deviled eggs became egg salad.Lol FINALLY...something that works! Thanks again. Awesome😊
@@apollothemoonman632 There's actually no cholesterol in eggs, although that's what we've always been told...& is what I use to believe myself. Eggs are the highest source of protein.
Thanks Kevin, I like hacks that save time and effort when cooking. You did a good job with your instructions, not leaving steps out. I'm sure your hack will help a lot of people, including me !! Be well.
I am 74. Almost exactly how I have done eggs for 50 years except, and this I just learned, about the salt. I am going to try, because my way they don't always peel. Many thanks!
Love it, I've been steaming eggs for years... And every now and then I get a batch of eggs that won't peel. I never knew about fresh eggs being harder to peel.
I do it the Exact same way-the salt does Not get into the egg, Unless one of the shells crack while boiling! The trick is to shut off the boiling water the instant it begins to roll-so the eggs don't bounce around and crack! Good demonstration and I don't mind that it took him over 6 minutes-I Like the tone of his voice, te-he!!
Saw your video this morning & gave it a go & success !!! Had 1 egg explode for some reason but rest were perfect. Another tip is, when cool enough to handle, break the shell on the fatter end and pull it off. Then crack and peel down the side while cool water is running over the egg. Once the shell is loose enough, the water will hydraulically pop the shell loose from the rest of the egg.
Been making boiled eggs after watching your video dozens of times and its never failed!!! It also doesn't hurt that you're hilarious 😆 I make sure to never leave out the salt! Lol
Putting salt in the water raises the boiling temperature of the water. Putting the eggs in a cold bowl of water and putting ice over them will dramatically help make peeling them easier (think expand and contract guys... the egg shells will practically fall off the eggs). Great video.
You would need to add a boatload of salt in order to raise the boiling point Science bitch⬇️ Jesse from breaking bad You would have to add 58 grams of salt just to raise the boiling point of a liter of water by one half of a degree Celsius. Basically, the amount of salt people add to water for cooking doesn't affect the boiling point at all.
I like that ur stove actually looks like u cook 👨🍳 on it (like mine) some of these cooking videos are so unrealistic it’s like come on there’s no way u actually cook on that stove every day. Just thought I’d mention that. Great video!!!!
You made my day, Kevin. I always hated peeling eggs. Today we hardboiled about 5 dozen eggs to make red beet eggs. I followed your advice and added salt to the water. We do not use Morton salt so I used Redmans Real Salt, about a small scoop per dozen eggs. They all shelled perfectly except one which might have been cracked before hand. Some eggs we used were old and some were fresh but that did not make a difference! I notice this video had very high views which tells me there are a lot of people out there that have had trouble peeling eggs Again thanks much.
I CRACKED UP when you talked about "those who had something to say about all that salt, shut up" because I definitely was one of those people, lol! A sista was WORRIED, lol. Great video, I tried it and it really helped -THANK YOU!!!
thanks man.. this video really helps me out cuz i've been running around asking people what to do to make my boiled eggs perfect. and when I say perfect, I mean, the yoke is cooked and it's easy as hell to peel. Peeling is the most frustrating part that I always encounter; cuz if I peel, the white part of the egg comes off with the shell bits as I started to peel it off... LOL So again thank you very much for this video. Ciao.
"Shut up, no it doesn't" Why can't all tutorials be this straight forward. No fancy camera set up, a few dirty dishes in the sink (lets be real, at least we know you do, infact, use your kitchen like a normal person) and easy to follow instructions. I'm literally about to do this. Hopefully I remember to give a review in the morning after I've peeled my eggs. Oh and thank you for this easy to follow tutorial by the way.
It did (mostly) work. I had a couple that were still a little stubborn but nothing like I normally experience so I'd call this a "win" for me. Thank you!
I’m 39 and suck at boiling eggs! Today is Easter and my daughter and I are ab to boil eggs. I won on YT trying to check some videos out but YOUR video was the most informative, easiest to understand! Not at all fancy pansy! Right up my aisle!!
Kevin! You are the bomb! I had 2 dozen FRESH eggs, put the salt in, just like you said. IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM!!!! I will be doing this ALL the time! Plus, you are right, No salt flavor at all!! Thanks a lot for sharing!!! ❤️
This is an awesome video. If the other video pals would understand the absolute beauty of getting right into whatever the purpose of the video is - I would watch more of them. This is not only a well done video - the process works! I thank you very much! Keep the good work up.
I boil my eggs the same way except I don't add all that salt, but now that I know it makes the shells come off easier maybe I'll add salt too, thank you! 😎😄
Your cold water to replace the hot cooking water is great. I do almost the same as you, but I only add some ice cubes to the cooled water to chill down the water and the eggs before I peel them. Excellent explanation on your video. Thanks!
Good video ! Boil eggs same way. When I only need 4-6 eggs I put a clean sheet scrap I keep just for that purpose in the bottom of the boiler (washed new, no detergents or softener only for boiling eggs) & it keeps eggs from cracking. Must have learned from Granny or Mama. Starting w/ cool water using salt just as you did throughout works. Good work!
Thank you for the video, I have not done this for a long time, this video helped me refresh my skills, hubby does all the cooking and now I need to go on the keto diet and eggs is one of the things I can eat
Thank you for the video! Adding the salt is interesting. I don't care whether a little bit of salt gos through the shell or not. Because I do add a little salt to the egg when I eat it. However, does the egg shell still peal nicely after few days in the cold?
Thank you so much for this video! My boyfriend and I followed your batch cooking process to a tee (except for turning off the heat-ours couldn't sustain the rolling boil). We call you Kitchen Bro now.
So I have been boiling eggs for 50+ years. I just bought a dozen to make egg salad, but I did not wait a week or two before they would peel easy. I tried your method- very easy to do. I did everything to the precise instruction, but I wanted to make the salad the next day. After the second cooling wash, I drained the eggs and put them n the refrigerator. Today I took the eggs out and let them sit for a while as I fed my dogs, did some lawn work, etc. I actually forgot about them for maybe half an hour. I started to peel the top eggs from the bowl and it was quite a mess. Most of the egg stuck to the shell and I lost a lot of the white part. As I worked down the stack, the lower eggs were still cool from the refrigerator and they peeled perfectly. So the moral here is that if you want this technique to work, leave them in the refrig and peel them COLD. When I did that, the shells came off quickly and easily. I will always hard boil my eggs this way from ow on. Thanks Mr. Reese!!!!!
WOW, that's also what i do, whenever i am hungry, i grab a boiled egg from the fridge, i do not do the salt thing. Just pile the eggs in the water and boil, remove from water, transfer to container, refrigerate when totally cool. - I crack my eggs RAW OR BOILED by cracking the WIDE BOTTOM of the egg which is where the AIR CHAMBER is located, remove protective skin and VOILA, then pour out content or peel easily.
Great video. Thanks for sharing... I'm boiling 16 eggs in big pot like yours... Added salt... Once roll & boils I'll let sit 15 mins with gas off... Then I'll drain water & keep adding cold water, remove it, add cold water, remove it until water in pot is cold, then let it sit... I actually like ideas of using a cartoon go hold boiled eggs. I wipe each egg off & put in glass bowl then put in refrigerator... ~~~~~~~~~~~~ I've boiled lots of eggs using your formula and all the eggs with no exceptions were easy to peel & none of the white egg yokes were lost... Thanks again...
WoW !! The only thing better than finally learning an easy way to hard boiled eggs is getting to watch Kevin do this video !!!!! 🤩🤩🤩 #NoRingOnHisFinger ✅
It's always nice to see videos like this. Everyone has the choice to pick and choose what works for them, you're intelligent enough (you've made it to watching RUclips so you must know how to use a computer) you can make up your own mind. As for the Shell, Mother Nature has made a very protective outer layer for what is inside...and that dear friends....is a chicken. YES. A chicken. What is POROUS....is the inner membrane, SO, with that said, Nothing is getting past that outer shell (unless of course, you're a chicken with a beak) not germs, not ants, not nothing! (Did you know, in the markets in Europe, eggs are stacked for sale OUTSIDE of refrigeration? And they are fine?) AS LONG AS THE SHELL IS NOT CRACKED, the egg is safe. The trick all the way around...is watch the cracks! That is very important. BTW, how salty do you think your egg is going to be anyway. Geez
Did an experiment last night with several ideas on this. Easiest to peel was older eggs boiled in salt water! Peeled with a spoon, shell popped off in 1 piece! Thanks buddy for this secret, been trying to discover this for years! Lol
The salt does not transfer into the egg and it's actually a chemical reaction that you're seeking that helps the water to boil. It's called nebulosus. Same thing that makes Mentos volatile in a Diet Coke bottle, but that is hyper-nebulosus.
The science behind it is that you are tempering the eggs after they are boiled. You shock them by putting them into a bath of cold water immediately after the hot water is drained, thus cooling down the temperature of the eggs so they'll shrink inside the shell, making them easier to peel. Great tutorial, btw
i think that by adding salt to the water, it makes the water boil at a higher temperature, causing the eggs to boil faster. is that right? thats how ive boiled my eggs.
When using the cold water , why not leave the pan under the cold running water , let the pan over flow and eventually all the hot water is gone. rather than dumping the water out first . Less chance of a burn and the eggs would be cooled. I also never use salt, don't need it.
Thanks, nothing worse that the shell sticking to your egg, I make deviled eggs a lot so they can’t be all jacked up and missing spots. Cool trick if u make deviled eggs put your yoke and mayo and mustard mix it and put it in a sandwich bag push it to a corner of the bag and then take scissor and cut the corner of the bag, then u can fill the halved eggs much faster and way less mess

I used to hear the same thing but recently there has been more talk on the value of eating the whole egg as opposed to just eating the yolk. So I have been eating more whole hard boiled eggs! I hope your eggs turned out good! Thanks for watching and dropping a comment!
@@KReesethebeast
Yeah, the whole egg.
& Yes! My eggs turned out amazing!! Been cooking way longer than I care to say & it was always hit or miss. Deviled eggs became egg salad.Lol FINALLY...something that works! Thanks again. Awesome😊
@@sweetleilani6882 That is great. I am glad my video has helped so much!
There is cholesterol in eggs😂 but not as bad as health experts make it out to be, 4-5 eggs a day is perfect
@@apollothemoonman632
There's actually no cholesterol in eggs, although that's what we've always been told...& is what I use to believe myself. Eggs are the highest source of protein.
Thanks Kevin, I like hacks that save time and effort when cooking. You did a good job with your instructions, not leaving steps out. I'm sure your hack will help a lot of people, including me !! Be well.
Thanks 👍
Been doing the exact same thing for over 50 yrs. Grandma/Mama taught. Works everytime!!!!!
Awesome I am glad you can attest to this great method to boil eggs!
I am 74. Almost exactly how I have done eggs for 50 years except, and this I just learned, about the salt. I am going to try, because my way they don't always peel. Many thanks!
Thank you very much, that makes me feel great that I have been able to help you!
Thanks Kevin! Saw this on a friend's laptop and decided to try it. Awesome! Deviled eggs will be my all-time carry-in for parties, picnics, lunches.
That is great I am glad you liked it and I love deviled eggs too!
Love it, I've been steaming eggs for years... And every now and then I get a batch of eggs that won't peel. I never knew about fresh eggs being harder to peel.
Great!
Tks Kevin..I finally found a video that shows me how to perfectly peel an egg 🥚
Glad it was helpful!
You are absolutely right! Thank you for watching.
Great to hear!
Been making boiled eggs after watching your video dozens of times and its never failed!!! It also doesn't hurt that you're hilarious 😆 I make sure to never leave out the salt! Lol
I am so happy this was helpful, as well as entertaining!
Putting salt in the water raises the boiling temperature of the water. Putting the eggs in a cold bowl of water and putting ice over them will dramatically help make peeling them easier (think expand and contract guys... the egg shells will practically fall off the eggs). Great video.
Thank you for the feedback!
This is just how I cook my eyes for deviled eggs 👍👍
You would need to add a boatload of salt in order to raise the boiling point
Science bitch⬇️
Jesse from breaking bad
You would have to add 58 grams of salt just to raise the boiling point of a liter of water by one half of a degree Celsius. Basically, the amount of salt people add to water for cooking doesn't affect the boiling point at all.
ICE ??? not .... 2 poonful salt after turn off and put lid on let them sit 30 40 min DONE
I tried the directly into ice water method and it only works half of the time. The salt method never fails. I've been doing it that way for years
I like that ur stove actually looks like u cook 👨🍳 on it (like mine) some of these cooking videos are so unrealistic it’s like come on there’s no way u actually cook on that stove every day. Just thought I’d mention that. Great video!!!!
Thank you! That kitchen is cooked in for sure! Glad you can appreciate it!
I think you're another legend in the boiling and peeling off eggs. Thanks for making these tasks a lot easier.
Glad you like them!
I notice this video had very high views which tells me there are a lot of people out there that have had trouble peeling eggs
Again thanks much.
Thanks so much for your nice comment and I am glad this was helpful.
I CRACKED UP when you talked about "those who had something to say about all that salt, shut up" because I definitely was one of those people, lol! A sista was WORRIED, lol. Great video, I tried it and it really helped -THANK YOU!!!
Glad this helped you and you got a good laugh out of it!
thanks man.. this video really helps me out cuz i've been running around asking people what to do to make my boiled eggs perfect. and when I say perfect, I mean, the yoke is cooked and it's easy as hell to peel. Peeling is the most frustrating part that I always encounter; cuz if I peel, the white part of the egg comes off with the shell bits as I started to peel it off... LOL So again thank you very much for this video. Ciao.
Glad I could help!
I totally agree with you!! I have done this so many times and they peel perfectly EVERY TIME!! never had a bad one!!
Thank you!
"Shut up, no it doesn't"
Why can't all tutorials be this straight forward.
Thanks for the love and I hope it worked good for you!
Hey glad this helped you and Happy Easter to you and your little girl!
You're the best one in the world I didn't know how to boil eggs!!!!
Awesome!
PLEASE IS THAT MALUMA
Tried your method & they peeled good. Thanks, Kevin
Glad I could help! You are very welcome.
Kevin! You are the bomb! I had 2 dozen FRESH eggs, put the salt in, just like you said. IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM!!!! I will be doing this ALL the time! Plus, you are right, No salt flavor at all!! Thanks a lot for sharing!!! ❤️
Glad this helped you!
I'm not sure what impresses me more... the quality of the eggs or the fact that this guy managed to make this video over 6 minutes.
Thank you I guess. Lol.
This is an awesome video. If the other video pals would understand the absolute beauty of getting right into whatever the purpose of the video is - I would watch more of them. This is not only a well done video - the process works! I thank you very much! Keep the good work up.
Couldn't agree more! Glad you enjoyed it!
I boil my eggs the same way except I don't add all that salt, but now that I know it makes the shells come off easier maybe I'll add salt too, thank you! 😎😄
The salt is the key! Thanks for watching.
Great demo. You need to take a power washer to that sink, however. Lol.
I did afterwards haha. Thank you for watching.
Your cold water to replace the hot cooking water is great. I do almost the same as you, but I only add some ice cubes to the cooled water to chill down the water and the eggs before I peel them. Excellent explanation on your video. Thanks!
Glad this has helped you out!
Good work!
That is a great tip thank you for sharing, and I learned the salt trick from my mama! Thank you for watching.
OH MY GOD ALL THAT SALTS GONNA GET IN THE EGG!...shut up no it doesnt! Why is that so me tho? LMAO
Haha! I said that because you know how some people would flip out about salt. Thanks for watching.
You're welcome lmao i get it
Maleah Reshea y
He was saying it while i was reading this
Enough salt???
This is how I do mine. Have two dozen now waiting for the pickling jar.
Awesome! Thanks for watching and dropping a comment. Enjoy those eggs!
Tip: add some ice cubes to it when you’re cooling the eggs
You are right that will help to drop the temp very fast.
"...Shut up, no it doesn't!" Love it! Going to the store for a box of salt this morning.
Great!
Thank you for the video, I have not done this for a long time, this video helped me refresh my skills, hubby does all the cooking and now I need to go on the keto diet and eggs is one of the things I can eat
That is great I am glad this has helped ya'll and I hope you have success with your diet and Merry Christmas!
Fresh or old eggs makes a difference also. 😏
older egg shells are more tender but this is for newer eggs
Yes age of the egg plays a part as well.
Yes if they float, throw them in the trash!
I have fresh eggs from our hens, I have always did it this way with store bought eggs. So what is the best way for fresh eggs?
Thank you for the video!
Adding the salt is interesting. I don't care whether a little bit of salt gos through the shell or not. Because I do add a little salt to the egg when I eat it.
However, does the egg shell still peal nicely after few days in the cold?
I find no egg peels like it does when it is first boiled but these peel fine after being in the fridge for a while too.
Thank you so much for this video! My boyfriend and I followed your batch cooking process to a tee (except for turning off the heat-ours couldn't sustain the rolling boil).
We call you Kitchen Bro now.
Jean Dee I am glad this helped y'all out, and thanks for the new nickname!
You don’t need to keep the boil. He’s using a electric stove top
I didn't even notice that! That explains a lot. Thanks. =)
Exactly how I learned to make them. I thought everybody made their hard-boiled eggs this way.
I think a lot more do now!
Thanks Mr. Reese!!!!!
Glad this worked for you and thank you for watching!
baking soda works better. I have tried the salt way, and yes it will work. but try baking soda. made a believer of me!!
Pam Jaeger how much soda for boiling 6 eggs.
salt is the trick. trust me.
use salt, it is the trick. raises the boiling point of the water, part of the tricks that makes this method the best.
Very ez 2 follow.....& i can understand him Perfectly !!
Thank you!
Sounds great!
~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've boiled lots of eggs using your formula and all the eggs with no exceptions were easy to peel & none of the white egg yokes were lost...
Thanks again...
Sounds like a plan!
WoW !! The only thing better than finally learning an easy way to hard boiled eggs is getting to watch Kevin do this video !!!!! 🤩🤩🤩
#NoRingOnHisFinger ✅
Glad you enjoyed it!
2:03 watching him put half a container of salt in the eggs 😳😳😳
2:20 he checked me and told me to shut up 😬
Sorry I just had to get it out there so people wouldn't freak out!
I just love your voice!✌🏼❤️
Thank you!
good video always some people have some thing stupid to say if is very explaines is too much if not explain is bad so i think is a good vid dude
Thanks for the support!
It's always nice to see videos like this. Everyone has the choice to pick and choose what works for them, you're intelligent enough (you've made it to watching RUclips so you must know how to use a computer) you can make up your own mind. As for the Shell, Mother Nature has made a very protective outer layer for what is inside...and that dear friends....is a chicken. YES. A chicken. What is POROUS....is the inner membrane, SO, with that said, Nothing is getting past that outer shell (unless of course, you're a chicken with a beak) not germs, not ants, not nothing! (Did you know, in the markets in Europe, eggs are stacked for sale OUTSIDE of refrigeration? And they are fine?) AS LONG AS THE SHELL IS NOT CRACKED, the egg is safe. The trick all the way around...is watch the cracks! That is very important. BTW, how salty do you think your egg is going to be anyway. Geez
Thanks for the great comment! Interesting info too about Europe thank you for sharing!
Did an experiment last night with several ideas on this. Easiest to peel was older eggs boiled in salt water! Peeled with a spoon, shell popped off in 1 piece! Thanks buddy for this secret, been trying to discover this for years! Lol
Thanks for sharing and I am glad your experiment was successful!
The salt does not transfer into the egg and it's actually a chemical reaction that you're seeking that helps the water to boil. It's called nebulosus. Same thing that makes Mentos volatile in a Diet Coke bottle, but that is hyper-nebulosus.
Thanks for the interesting info!
@Marlene T. Great info thank you for sharing with all of us! Merry Christmas!
quench them in ICE water is what will make them shell easy. Put a couple trays of ice in the cold water.
Yep ice will make the water colder for sure!
I usually pop the pan in the sink & let the cold water run into the pan till it is completely cooled. Like 5 min.
@@emerald9578 Do what works best for you! Merry Christmas to you!
not so much as the salt making it easy to peel, but the cold water giving the shock effect to the hot shells.
Good tip,thanks. It works. Suggestion...wash your dirty dishes before filming.
yes the cold water helps with the shock as well.
@@luisrestrepo1367 washed them after cooking, but should have done before.
For many years I've messed up boiling eggs. This really works. Thanks again.
Glad this has helped you!
The science behind it is that you are tempering the eggs after they are boiled. You shock them by putting them into a bath of cold water immediately after the hot water is drained, thus cooling down the temperature of the eggs so they'll shrink inside the shell, making them easier to peel. Great tutorial, btw
Thank you for sharing that information, and for the compliment! Take care.
i think that by adding salt to the water, it makes the water boil at a higher temperature, causing the eggs to boil faster. is that right? thats how ive boiled my eggs.
To be honest I do not know the exact science of why it works, I just know it does and it has been passed down to me through my family.
I roll ALL the eggs till the shell is loose, placing each one back in the water. Leave for 2 minutes and then they get removed.
That will work as well as long as you plan on eating all right away.
that is smart I am going to try that too!
@@KReesethebeast thank you kevin coming back to the rescue guess i wont be doing that!
When using the cold water , why not leave the pan under the cold running water , let the pan over flow and eventually all the hot water is gone. rather than dumping the water out first . Less chance of a burn and the eggs would be cooled. I also never use salt, don't need it.
Good tip for the water, thanks for sharing and thanks for watching!
You are 100% correct! The salt made all the difference! Thnx for the tip.
Glad this helped you out Hanna!
I enjoyed the video it was quite informing and I will try it tomorrow morning to see if in fact it works as good as for me as it did for you great job
I love his sexy voice but when he said shut up, OMG funny!
Haha thank you.
The Salt actually raises the boiling point of the water.
indeed it does.
That's really cool.
Thanks Bro!
Thanks, nothing worse that the shell sticking to your egg, I make deviled eggs a lot so they can’t be all jacked up and missing spots. Cool trick if u make deviled eggs put your yoke and mayo and mustard mix it and put it in a sandwich bag push it to a corner of the bag and then take scissor and cut the corner of the bag, then u can fill the halved eggs much faster and way less mess
Great tip!
Thank you for this. I watch it every time I have to boil eggs saved me from the Chuck my egg when I peal it. Now they peel perfect. Sent to my dad too
