Older eggs peel less easily I always use eggs that are more than a week old.
Peel easy peasy.
@@peterdurnien9084 do you mean older is easier?
@@peterdurnien9084 do you farm your own eggs?, unless you do you have no idea how old an egg is, or how thick, like some of the people on here are saying.
Depends on the shell thickness
@@ljre3397 I always found older eggs peel better
The best way to ensure your boiled eggs peel easily is to use 'aged' (not fresh eggs). Let your eggs rest in the refrigerator for a few days before boiling... The pH of the white albumen increases over time reducing the bonding between the shell and the egg white.
That doesn't matter mine still get muffed up
Even better way after you've boiled the eggs and let the cool for a couple of minutes in cold water break the shell either end make a decent sized hole then from the narrow end BLOW egg will come flying out
BINGO!! All of this anal-retentive fussing is a waste of time if the eggs haven't aged sufficiently. I go through eggs so fast I never refrigerate eggs. They age quicker at room temp. Another egg fact re: Salmonella from eating raw egg...it's not the raw egg. It's a matter of washing the Salmonella bacterium off of the eggshell before cracking the egg. When you crack and unwashed egg to be used in cooking, the Salmonella doesn't survive the temperature of the frying pan or the oven. Salting the water was the one helpful point I took away.
Aged!?? 😄😄
2wk old at least fresh eggs. Add vinegar to water boil 10mins. Add ice and cold water to cool, peel em when you feel like it.
I have chickens. Drove me nuts figuring this one out!🤣🤣 love em with Tabasco sauce!
Excellent my mother raised chickens and this always works you need no salt April 19 2022
a handy tip for all...peel your eggs under the faucet, running constant and thus changing temps as you go, to whatever setting works when peeling eggs, if the eggs begin to get stubborn and don't want to peel easily, change the water temperature from semi hot to cool, adjusting it back and forth. This causes the "vacuum" layer between the shell, the "skin" and the egg to lessen, creating a temperature change moisture barrier in between the shell and the body of the egg. Get the temperature of the water just right, and it will peel easily. You will find that you can win out over stubborn eggs anytime.
Well, that’s a waste of water
Love the bird in the background asking "what are you doing?"
After the eggs have boiled,I put them in cold water and just let them sit for a while and find them easy to peel (Ready for tuna fish)😃That seems to work for me, Along with Potatoe salad 👍🏾👍🏾❤️
Yes!
How long do you boil the eggs and do you boil water first before you place the eggs in the pan? Need to boil eggs for dying Easter eggs. Thank you
That's what I do . Works most of the time.
Agree with older eggs being easier to peel. But I have also found that if you let the water get to a rolling boil first, then put cold eggs in (gently of course); then when done cooking, if you put them immediately into an ice bath to cool completely, they peel like a dream.
Exactly what I always do and they turn out to be perfect 💥👌😋
So quick cook the outer layers to keep them from bonding. I guess placing them in a mesh or other colander to lower into boiling water would be the way to do this.
Can We keep it in the freezer.
You guys know it.
-Make the water boil good
-Prick the egg
-Put it gently in the boiling water
-Put it in cold water
-Voilà!
I agree, putting then in cold water then bringing them to a boil is the worst way to boil eggs. This guy is wrong!
I live in Florida (Nature Coast just below the Big Bend. Experimenting with egg boiling I found that eggs 2 weeks old, boiled in slightly salted water and cracked at the large end will peel in just 10 seconds or less. I reckon there's many other ways, but one that works a 100% of the time is the one you stick with...
The very best way for peeling them is to steam them, not boil… Steam them for @12-15 minutes, and then run under cold water…Just found this out a couple years ago.. It works great!
Wow
Thank you for being bold enough to come and share this demonstration. Big help.
I should show my wife the video 🤣
What people don't seem to realize is, how an egg peels is more about the egg than the technique. I boiled eggs in Mississippi for 20 years. It didn't matter how I boiled them or how long I boiled them or how long after I boiled them that I peeled them. They ALWAYS peeled easily. Now I've lived in Florida for 20 years and in the whole time I've lived in Florida I've NEVER had a batch of eggs that peeled easily. It's something about the eggs we get down here. I've tried every single technique known to man and in every batch I'll have one or two eggs that peel cleanly and the rest will be hard to peel messy. It's enough to drive me mad!
Markus Hayden Sutherland Same. Never had a problem until I moved to Florida. I get maybe 1 or 2 that will peel. Wtf is it?
Wow!! This the 1st time I've heard this. You know someone says ur eggs maybe too fresh. Read other comments to this video
If eggs are difficult-peel them under cold running water. Something about the water pressure makes it easier.
You try and leave the eggs on the counter for 2/3 weeks before boiling. I find older eggs are way better to peel. Tap water and eggs, bring to boil, lid and set aside for 8-12 mins, poor water out and add cold tap water. Sometime if it’s only a week. When adding the cold water after boil, I’ll pop the egg with a spoon and add baking soda. Live in Louisiana
Never had issues boiling/peeling eggs when I was growing up. Why are we having to research info on HOW TO BOIL AND PEEL EGGS? I can't believe so many people are truly having problems. I've tried putting cooking oil in the water hoping the shells would slide off after cracking them. I've tried cracking them while the shells are still warm. This is insane!
Older eggs peel of easier than fresh ones. No matter how you boil and cool them. Known fact for ages.
Something I found interesting recently was a study saying that:
Eggs ( not the expensive ones ) that are simply bought in the grocery store are just as nutritious as all the expensive ones you can buy ‼️‼️‼️‼️
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for sharing, along with everyone else Lol, when boiling eggs i always wondered why some eggs were easy to peel, while others were time consuming. I'll give it a go.
Here's something most are not willing to do but absolutely works. When the water comes to a boil, the whites have already started to cook. Purposefully but slightly crack the shell with a quick and gentle hit with a knife or fork. Simmer for 5 minutes, drain and run under cold water. The small amount of water that seeped under the shell while cooking will allow for extremely easy shelling
Put salt on botton of container : eggs & water
Yes and it's even less risky to put a small pin hole in the bottom of the egg even before you start to cook them.
Hard boiled eggs
True. But with my luck, I'd tap too hard and the egg would seep out into the boil.😆
This works every time, makes peeling eggs a breeze.
I’ll end up spending the whole day just boiling eggs if I follow this 😂
Akala ko kung ano na ang gagawin nilagyan pa ng ice nag aksaya lang ako ng oras. Pakuluan mo lang ,10 mins hanguin mo lagyan mo ng tubig presto mabababalatan mo to ng maayos.
And on the end you have COLD eggs 😂
Hahaha
Well said
Hahaha 🤣
Also depends on the the age of the eggs. Fresher eggs are hard to peel compared to eggs a few days older.
Exactly
100000000000000% CORRECT.
Agree 100%
Excellent
If you put fresh eggs in a double steamer and turn them at 10 minutes they will peel without a problem ,,,
Being a maintenance man I boil the eggs for ten minutes then let them cool for ten minutes. I knock the end of the shell off either end. Using an air compressor set for 60 PSI aim the stream of air at the opening of the egg and blast the shell off the eggs. Works really great, just make sure you have a firm grip on the egg, I have had to chase a few down that got away from me!
lol...TOO FUNNY JAMES !!🌏☮AND💜✝
WOW I'm 64 years old and I didn't know. LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERYDAY. THANKS
If anyone's seen where you put a few eggs in a jar, fill with some water, seal tightly, then shake the jar like crazy, it really works! It pulls the skins right off the eggs -- saves your hands AND gives your arms a mini workout!
Yes, I've done that
I'll give it a try. Thx.
When I worked in restaurants.. I'd drain water.. shake pot north/south and east/ west.. to Crack shells all over then peel under a low running faucet.. fastet than any other technique.
ty
@@rubiks6 did it work
It just goes to prove - you learn something every day... I was a cook for four years in a charity for vulnerable people, I always wondered why some boiled eggs peeled easy, when others didn't; now I know why. Thanks for the tip. 😊👍
I've found that if I face North (in the Winter months) and remove the eggs in a counterclockwise rotation so that in the end your colander of eggs will naturally be pointed South. This is tricky if you stove is facing North to begin with, but it can be done with a little 'english' using the back of your hand. The rest is easy, the South facing eggs will give up their shells quite nicely. Don't cheat, and just turn the eggs South. You can't fool a chicken! Good Peeling all.
SW.
LOL!
I usually do a few handstands in between eggs.
It doesn't matter how you boil an egg, there will always be some that don't peel easy.
Out of 18 ,not very often I might get 1.Boil water drop eggs in ,let it come to a boil ,boil exactly 12 minutes ,ice bath ,peel easy every time
@@F16_viper_pilot No it isn't. It's the age of the egg.
@mpkunz6336 first of all, pure water boils at 100C or 212F. You can add salt till the cows come home, but you’ll never reach 225 F in a normal situation….
Oh, some eggs just won’t peel worth crap, and that’s all there is to it
Depends on the freshness of the eggs
All you have to do while boiling them is add a teaspoon of baking soda to the water. Then the shells will just slide right off. It balances the PH in the water and the shells don't stick to the eggs. Trust me this works.
I use salt every time I boil eggs and sometimes they peel easy and some times they don't. It really depends on the freshness of the eggs. If you have chickens that lay eggs you will find that the ones gathered the same day you boil them are harder to peel than those gathered the day before. Just thought you might want to know. Also baking soda in the water works better than salt. Also if you will break away part of the shell for the larger end of the egg and run water over the egg from that end the water will go into the shell hand help pull the membrane which makes it hard to peel away from the egg. You should be able to crack and shell an egg in 15 seconds or less.
Didn"t know that about baking soda; at ex job we used salt
You do not need soda just use eggs that are older not fresh my mother raised chickens and this always works April 19 2022
No need for the silly salt.
My Roosters lay The Eggs here!🤔🙄
@@kennyc388 Agreed.
About 20x the salt he used would bump the boiling temp. by ~2C.
I struggled with peeling eggs for years. I tried this method, the ice bath trick, etc. and still had shells that stuck to the white. After watching some YT videos I now have a method where I have yet to have a sticking shell. Boil your water first with a couple tablespoons of white vinegar. It changes the ph of the water. Gently place the eggs in the boiling water with tongs. Cold eggs going into the boiling water will crack easily hitting the bottom of the pan. Hard boiled eggs get 11 minutes slow boil. I cool the eggs with just cool water. I live in Phoenix so the tap water doesn't get cold in the summer, no matter. The shells practically fly off!
If you have a sprouts in your vicinity get Omega-3 eggs I guarantee you the shells would pull off easily.
i also heard baking soda can work too . with the vinegar ...
The reason your eggs peel easily isn't because of anything you added to the water. It's because you boiled your water first. The shell expands faster than the egg white due to the sudden increase in temperature. This causes the shell to separate from the white. I've learned to make the perfect boiled egg that is always easy peel and never cracks... the secret is not to boil them. 😐 Steam them instead. Yes it increases the cook time a little, I like them done medium at 13 minutes. Try it next time, you won't regret it.
I wish I had seen this video 20 minutes ago. Every single time, my eggs will not come out of the shells! I have tried many different ways! I will try this tomorrow. Thank you and Merry Christmas!!!
Very fresh eggs difficult to peel are bst 4 poaching.
Put eggs in already boiling water 15 min. Works every time. Perfect peel. Perfect egg.
No
5 minutes cooking then 8 minutes cooling them down, I will certainly die of hunger haha
Overkill with the ice in water. I just put cold water from the faucet and after a minute, I can peel the egg shell easily. Plus, I can still enjoy the egg warm and not cold.
I boil eggs for 2 minutes, let stand for 11 minutes, put in cold water and peel under cold running water. Perfectly cooked eggs every time. Did anyone notice she ended up with an extra egg. She started out with 11 eggs in the pot. She peeled 4 eggs. She put 8 eggs in the container to put in the refrigerator. I'm not a math wiz, but that totals 12.
I've tried every method I can think of for boiling eggs. I finally found out the true secret. You bring the water to a boil 1st, Then you add the eggs. It's better to use eggs that are at Room temperature. Sometimes the cold ones will crack. But since I've been doing it this way I've never had any eggs not peel like a breeze..
YUP...ABSOLUTLY WORKS EVERY TIME!
That's how I was always taught to do it - with the addition that when cooked you pour the boiling water off and add cold water to the pan to cool the eggs down ready to peel. I've only ever hard boiled a couple of eggs at a time - it's always a case of using up the last ones in the box before they go off. I never deliberately set out to make hard boiled eggs!
@JD Rhea Dangerous? Do they explode?
After boiling remove hot water and dunk in cold water for a minute. Take. A spoon and tap on top to crack a small gap. Guide the spoon inside the shell along its shape .it comes off easily. 👍👍
The easiest peeling eggs I've ever made are from pressure/steaming in my instant pot. It's faster than boiling, and so rewarding when you can pull off the entire shell in one or two pieces.
I am going to look this up! 😃
I use 1/4 of teaspoon clear vinegar.
Spot on! Won't do hard cooked/boiled eggs any other way.
Easier on Air Fryer. Put egg, from fridge, into an air fryer at 120C for 12 mins. Once done, pour cold water, and after 2 mins. Peel. This so far, the best settings I had from a series of experiments.
Tip. After cooling off the eggs, leave it is the pot with about an inch of water. Place the pot lid back on the pot and shake the pot vigorously until the eggs knock against each other and crack open. Simply peal and enjoy. 👊👍
Much like what I do.
Or...... put eggs in a mayo jar filled half way with water. Tighten the lid and shake vigorously until all eggs are cracked.
I also do it this way in the pan. I put a towel under the pan to keep it from putting marks on my counter top from the metal. Works like a charm to release the shell and the membrane.
I just bring them to the boil, turn off the heat, leave them ten minutes, put them in cold water. Roll them on the countertop to smash the shells and peel them easily
I am with you put them in cold water bring to boil shut off cover wait 10 min and i run the cold into the hot water slowly letting it change slowly , Mine pealed almost in two pieces hit once on bottom breaks right away not all the twisting she was doing
musicalmarion I've been doing that...they still don't peel all that easily. TBH I don't think they appear to be peeling easily in this video(no disrespect meant to the poster at all, I appreciate the video!). I've seen and accidentally sometimes had the shells come off in like 2 peels. No small pieces cracking off, just comes off so smoothly and that's what I'm looking for!
That's exactly what I do! Bring them to boil, turn off the heat and leave them until cool. Perfect every time.
musicalmarion
Yuppppp I concur that's what I' do!👌🏽
Exactly, and who puts their eggs in ice water for 10 minutes? I want them super hot. I cool my fingers to get the job done.
Title should be " how to boil eggs in most complicated way"
😂😂
"Relaxation During the Whole Process of Boiling Eggs with the Most Advanced Techniques of Peeling Off the Eggshells"
I take some olive oil and dip my finger tip into it and then run it around the rim of the pot. Simple science tells you that oil and water don't mix, thus eliminating boil over. This works with potato's pasta and any other boiling that would create an boil over. Works every time.
Plus, when I'm going to use one of the eggs that are done and have been stored in my Fridge. I run the egg under warm water for about 30 seconds or so, and it peels like a dream. Far less work than as shown in the video. I hope this helps someone out.
Thanks
What I do is boil the eggs for 15 minutes on medium heat and then place them in a mug of cold water for 1-2 minutes . It works everytime
Patience is key ⏳
Just leave the eggs in the same water it boiled in. Let it naturally cool and return in 15 mins. Save the salt and ice
at work salt was first to put in eggs& water 20 minutes ": cool off wiith water
MY METHOD...PUT EGGS IN A POT. COVER w water about 1" above. *Add some white vinegar to prevent cracking. Bring to a boil. Let them boil 2 mns. Shut off all heat. Cover for 20 mns. THEN AN ICE BATH or keep running cold water over them. THIS process has worked for me. Have a good Friday.
My mom always said eggs should be 2 weeks old, before boiling,so they peel easy, and not stick to the shell, she was a farm kid,she knew.
I’ve boiled a lot of eggs in my day and adding the eggs to boiling water has always worked the best for me.
Never did that. Cold water with eggs in pot. Bring to boil Take off heat. let set with lid on 12 minutes. Done
It is true that adding salt makes water boil hotter but here is the deal:
You would need to add 1 tablespoon of salt to 2 cups of water to raise the temp to less than 4 degrees. That is saltier than the salt levels in the ocean. A lot of salt for negligible results and it only increases the cook time by less than 30 seconds. Food such as rice or pasta would be inedible.
But adding the ice is a great idea for making it easier to peel the eggs. That is always a chore if not done correctly. Great tip.
Fresh eggs ( less than 5 days old) when boiled usually get cracked and portion of the contents come out but older eggs have no such problem - easily boiled and peeled.
Boiled eggs are delicious. I've been eating eggs for a long time, and I started seeing the benefits
Yes, I can eat them simply as boiled eggs, yummy. I also often use hard boiled eggs for egg sandwich, deviled eggs , Caesar salad, etc.
@@Homeycircle boiled eggs on sandwiche is fabulous 😋 😋
I am absolutely on you on your statement that something has changed with eggs these days. I was a chef for 7 years and almost 20 years ago and have never come across HARD TO PEEL BOILED EGGS. Today, it's pure frustration. to get one to PEEL off smoothly out of a batch is a celebration; even with that, is hard to come by
Pete Rodriguez I agree ! When I was a child and peeling eggs , they peeled easy . Today if I get 2 perfect out of a dozen I've done well !
I agree.. I noticed that my eggs are not peeling well after years of devil eggs and not losing one to faulty peeling.. I'm with you..
Originally 12 eggs but it ended 8. Where's the other 4 eggs. It's amazing.
They left before the icewater cool them down. 🤣🤣🤣

Instapot - the only instapot insert I've purchased - an egg rack holds a dozen eggs, 1/2 cup water, high pressure, 5 minutes, natural release for 5 minutes, quick release and chill to stop the cook
Eggs peel like a dream and it doesn't take any longer than boiling them on the stove top
Drain eggs and leave them in same pot. Shake to crack the eggs. Refill pot with cracked eggs to the top with cold water. Let eggs sit in the cold water for about 1-2 minutes and peel the eggs UNDER the water. Works GREAT!!
OR peel them under running cool water.
I heard that the older the egg is the easier it is to peel. With farm to table happening JIT these days, eggs are very fresh and haven't had time to age a few weeks like in the past before JIT manufacturing was the norm. I don't remember having a hard time peeling a boiled egg 50 years ago.
Wow! I certaintly didn't think of this. Thank you so much for giving us tips. and I thank youtube for everything that I need is found here. Thank you to everyone who shares their wonderful ideas. God bless you all!
The best way to bet perfect yellow yolks is to put eggs in cold water in a single later and and a little baking soda and stir the water. Let the water slowly get to boiling. Once it’s at a rapid boil, turn it off, cover with lid and set timer for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, pour ice cold water over eggs and I add ice until completely cool. Dry and refrigerate eggs. They peel pretty easily as well.
that exactly how i do it
2 minutes in an electric pressure cooker is the best way I have found to cook hard boiled eggs. They peel so easy every time.
Sounds like there's a cockatiel in the background. I used to have one who talked up a storm. When I first saw him each morning he'd say, Hello darlin'. Loved that little guy.
Good tip for the eggs too.😊
Started with 11 eggs, ended with 8.
Yeah w t h
As a senior, internationaly, hard boil egg expert, it is simple. I use fresh eggs. Boil water. Place eggs in pot of boiling water, so water covers and boil for about 12 minutes. Remove eggs from pot and put into room temperatue water for a few minutes. Then peel them.
I was thinking how to peel a boiled egg without a mess. Will try your way. Thanks for the wonder tip. 👍
It's best to add salt and a little white vinegar to the water. Soon as they are done I crack the shell a bit and run cold water as I peel them. Usually works well.
I have tried this method 4 times so far and I achieved a 100 per cent success rate. But before submerging them in ice I quickly cooled them under running water .. A most useful video.. thanks.
I boil my eggs, take off the stove, drain the boiling/hot water then add fresh cold or warm water into the pot and salt. Peels off easily.
Thanks for your icy-tip and that you let the eggs freeze for a pretty long time.
I poke a needle hole in the smaller end of the egg and let them boil for about 12
minutes and keep the hot & cold water for something else instead of draining it.
It is quite interesting to prick the egg(s) prior to cooking hard boiled eggs, never done such technique before.
As shown in my newer video, "Hard Boiled Eggs - How to boil eggs", i didn't use any ice for to peel the eggs, and it is an effective technique as well.
There must be many ways to do this, but here’s how I do it and it has never failed to make perfect hard boiled eggs. Bring your eggs just to a boil , cover , reduce heat to simmer 15 minuets remove to sink and run cold water over them . Perfection .
You're probably right bcos the eggs are quite hard after 15' simmering which is easy to peel.
THANK YOU for posting, how to boil and peel eggs. I learned a cute little morsel of info, from one of the many Cooking Shows. If you have slow tepid water running, over a collindar, just tap your egg on the side of the sink, then; under the running water, roll it in between the palms of your hands and the shell will just slide off into the collindar. The water gets underneith the "skin" of the shell and power releases the tight grip of the shell. When done, the egg has been washed, too. Your shells will be in the collindar and your eggs will be in a clean bowl. (be sure to use a screen basket in your drain, to keep egg-shell fragments, (that escaped the collindar), from stopping up your drain. You can peel 18 eggs in about 5 minutes. I like to pour 1/4 cup of white distilled vinegar and a tablespoon of iodized table-salt, into the pan and start swirreling it in the pan as I add cold water. I set the pan on the stove and add 18 eggs. By the time your water starts to boil, the salt has already dissolved and the combination of the salt and vinegar, makes the shells harder, and with the trick I wrote earlier, you can shell them out, clean and scrumptous!
Thanks again for posting!
This is very helpful.
I often face problem of peeling cooked egg in Nigeria.
When I peel the shell of the egg off the cooked egg I get it scattered.
Most times I over boiled the cooked egg beyond the mandatory 15 minutes.
Thereby spoiling all the hard work in cooking.
Another way is to add to the water before boiling is plain white vinegar. Your eggs will not taste like vinegar, but should be easy to peel.
Very useful information .Thanks
No need for ice. Cold tap water works as well.
I solved my own egg peeling problem very easily. The shells ARE somewhat porous. If you boil your normal time then keep the eggs in some cool water until you are ready to peel the shell. Crack the shell then roll the egg on a surface with your palm until the shell is totally cracked up all around. Then just find an opening and make sure you get the membrane started with the shell. The whole shell comes off the egg easily. When the membrane dries a bit on the egg-white is when you have trouble with the peel process.
I steam eggs instead of boiling. This works for me and makes them consistently easy to peel.
I find it works better for me is to get the water to a full boil first. Then set the eggs in with a spoon. Wait for the water to begin to boil again ( because putting the cold eggs in will stop the boil temporarily) and cook for 10 minutes exactly. Cool them immediately in cold water. Shake the eggs inside of a small pot to gently fracture the shells and then peel. This works for fresh eggs, too.
I do them that way also 👍
Dropping eggs. In boiling water always results in cracks for me
THATS RIGHT.......BEST WAY I EVER HEARD ...WORKS EVERY TIME!
I do exactly that except 21 min and ice in cooling water 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
More BS.
Eggs were disappearing in this video. Started with 11 (missing one) and ended with 8. LOL
adding salt lowers boiling point of the water. Putting the lid on raises the temp in the pot.
Cold water to stop cooking and shrink the whites from the shells, that's a winner!
One thing about hard boiled eggs is that when you rinse and grind the shells in your garbage disposal, the shells actually sharpen the blades of the disposal - after, of course, you'd given them a nice ice water bath. 👍
Good to know! We have garbage disposal, but most of the egg shells that we get from peeling the hard boiled eggs usually ended up either in the garden, or in our compost bin that will eventually mixed in with our garden/plant soil, so they still serve great purpose in our yard. Eggshells are also great for the strawberry plants, they help ditter the slugs away because of the sharp edges of the shells.
Adding salt to the water lets it boil at a lower temperature not a higher one. It also lowers the melting point of ice which is why they use it on roads in the winter.
Here's the way to get your eggs to peel themselves: aftervthey cool in a cold water bath, take the pot and dump enough water to until you hear it the eggs cracking each other when you shake vigorously. Shake the heck out of them just long enoughti loosen the peels,, then pull out your (almost) perfectly peeled eggs! My kids used to love me to pay boiled egg knock around. Now my grandkids do it.
Fast, easy and fun!
This is exactly how I do my eggs for hard boiling, never fails, I never timed the ice water bath, but 8-10 minutes is pretty close to what I do as well
A pin prick in the big end of the eggs before boiling , makes them peel easier yet .As the egg cools in the cold water in sucks water in loosening the shell
Ice bath is the oldest trick in the world to remove any sulfur taste.
I use the insta pot and they come out perfect every time, just don’t forget the ice water at the end
Thank you for this video!!!! You have one idea how I never understood why I couldn’t peel an egg.
Many things to do. Just boil eggs in boiling water... 15 minutes done. Just simple and easy. Same thing easy to peel.
Exactly
It looks like the salt helps with how easy they will peel. I did it with plain water and they don't peel off as easily.
I totally agree with you.
So what makes them a pain in the ass to peel ?
Yes 6 mins 9 mins 12 mins with salt in boil it.. No more circus.. It will be good to remove skin
I find it way easier to peel an egg with a tea spoon, cracking it all the way around the middle with the spoon then slide it in under the centre cracked part and spin your egg the spoon will slide around the middle and take off in one whole half piece.
I've done the same, like you, all my life and it works with no problem.
Thank you, good info
To peel eggs I just roll the egg around the counter so it cracks all over then just peel off the shell
A thin teaspoon can be used to reduce the peeling time by about 75%. Also, folks at higher elevation need longer boiling times since the bp drops at altitude ( 10 deg F at 5000ft) much more than salt (roughly 1 deg F for every 3 oz salt added to 1 Qt water) can compensate.
One reason people disagree so much on how to boil peelable eggs is that their stoves cook differently. Some heat water quickly while others take awhile. It depends on how much water, how many eggs, and how cold the eggs are. But what you want are very hot eggs very quickly so the inside lining glues to the egg, not to the shell. And the guaranteed way to get your eggs hot quickly is to use boiling water. It's that simple - bring the water to a rolling boil before adding the eggs. PS. If the eggs are at room temperature they are less likely to break when placed in the water, so it's better not to take them straight out of the fridge. But they'll still work with no problem either way. Try it and thank me later.
awesome everyone that posted after my comment. your all right. no negative posts...Tks guys tks for the extra info and tips.
I found out about this on on my own. After you boil the eggs put them in freezer for at least 30 seconds it should peel easily.
I use my instant pot,12 at a time, from the store to the IP,slip right off, never had a failure, 5 minute pressure, 6 minute pressure release 4 minutes ice bath. Perfect every time. :)
I’m going to try that next time, thanks in advance.
I also use my Instantpot ... 24 at a time, every 12 days. 3 minutes on pressure, vent and into ice bath in sink for at least 20 minutes. Put chilled egg in glass jar, add water to just cover the egg and shake 6 or 7 times. Shells fall off in one piece.
I followed this video exactly and my eggs were the best I've had in a while.
the egg has a membrane on the inside of shell, once you put it into ice cold water... the white of the egg shrinks away from it !
that is why they peel easy, it doesn't matter for soft boiled or hard boiled eggs or salt in water when boiling!
In addition, I found that running warm water over the eggs while pealing will make it easier to get shell off. This process you posted works and what I do when I boil eggs.
From the pot to ice cold water for 15 minutes. Works great 👍
A tablespoon of vinegar in the water also works like a charm.
Eggs and Mountain Dew. The cornerstone of any nutritious breakfast.
Thank you!!! Mine turned out perfect!
After experimenting with eggs I find that eggs that have been kept in my refrigerator for 14 or 15 day boil and peel easily. Fresh eggs are more tedious to peel, but then, you will know that you have FRESH eggs.
I cool the water and use it in my plants.
Great tips! Thank you.💖
Thanks for the tips
Thank you for the video. I’ve been having problems with my eggs lately, I was boiling them 8 minutes, then putting them under cold water for approximately 2 or 3 minutes, then in the refrigerator.
Check date & company that produces them
Okay, pleasant to watch these graceful hand at work but , , , am I the only one that caught the magic eggs or sleight of hand? First there're 12 eggs put into the pot. When they're drained, there are only 8 eggs. She peels at least 4 and puts 8 away, unpeeled. This woman is a magician!
A simpler way to easily remove egg shell is to heat water until half boil, then submerge the eggs and continue to boil the egg. Remove egg once it hardens, immerse in water until it cools, peel afterwards.
No ice needed...
thank you for sharing the way to be able to peel eggs easily ...love your little bird singing...and by the way those eggs were beautiful
Very enlightening actually .😎
Here's a cheat for making egg salad really quickly. After hard-boiling the eggs and cooling them off in cold water I use a sharp knife to cut them in half and then scoop the contents into a bowl with a medium-sized spoon that fits closely right inside the egg shell. I use eggs with brown colored egg shells because it is much easier to see any eggshell that was inadvertently included in the bowl with the egg contents. Wow - you can make egg salad really, really quickly with this method but it is of course no good for making deviled eggs. If I were working as kitchen help in a sandwich shop offering egg salad sandwiches and wraps I would use this method for certain rather than painstakingly peeling each egg only to chop up and mash them with the dressing.
