Thank you Alex and Lea. I can't believe I am almost 65 years old, and have struggled with peeling eggs to a point where I won't even do it very often. Now my husband and I will get to enjoy deviled eggs often.. God bless. Thumbs up Lea
Wow! I remember seeing my mother-law doing this 40 years ago when I started dating her son. I asked her why she put baking soda in the water and she laughed.. and answered “because my mother always did”. Not knowing the reason😂 I didn’t do it. I wish she was living today for me to show her this great video👍 she passed away last June. Occasionally, I do buy farm fresh eggs from a dear friend and they’re always hard to shell. 🙄😂 Thank you! You two sweet young ladies will help me save a lot of wasted eggs. I would lose a lot of the egg stuck onto the shell.
Let little sister say something next time! She is all smiles though... good to see sisters doing something productive and healthy together! Oh... shoot... she does talk! I guess I started commenting to early!
Oh I have another question you keep your eggs from your hens unwashed until ready to use? and do you store them on counter or fridge? and in what do you store them in?
Just found your channel and watched the "Easiest Way To Peel Hard Boiled Eggs". Gave it a try. Worked like a charm! Not sure why baking soda made the difference but glad to learn the secret. Keep putting out helpful and practical videos!
What a wonderful idea I have to say! I can't tell you how many years I have tried to peel eggs with some difficutley, it never occurred to me to use your method, it would have saved my sanity.😂😂
janet cutler haha! 😂 I’m glad I could maybe help ya out a little. I was about to the point I never wanted to hard boil eggs again until I started doing it this way. I know exactly what you mean!
Awesome! I knew and always have used the ice bath, thank you for telling us about the baking soda and the Mason jar tick...I lost a couple my way .But never again..I use a simple filler receipe..Mayo ,white sugar, salt , pepper , powdered yellow mustard and a lil sweet pickle juice and top with paprika...My fam used to use vinegar or relish yuck. Lol! Again thank you..Lori PGH PA..I hope ya all had a wonderful THANKSGIVING . Love and Light my friends xox..
Lori Miller thanks so much for watching! Ya know, that’s a great idea with the pickle juice. I’m not a big fan of relish in my deviled eggs because of the texture, but I do like the taste of pickles. I may have to give that a try sometime. Thanks! 😊
@@SawyerRidgeFarm it's awesome..make sure it's sweet pickle...I hate the vinegar and I throw a little sugar in..The same with my potato and macaroni salad (Mayo ,salt, pepper, dry mustard, sweet pickle juice, and sugar, beside my celery ,onion ,green n color peppers (chopped small),egg , paprika.. (I like it simple) ...I love relish but not in my mixes..It's a consistency and texture thing with me also.... lol!..Try it...I think you'll like it..My kids always ask me how much in a receipe...I never measure I just tweak it to consistency desired and taste..it's second nature now...xox.
Sisters are precious. Great video ladies, I really enjoyed watching, and loved learning a new cooking trick. Have a Blessed Week **HUGS & PRAYERS** from Kelly and the critters at Piney Haven Homestead.
I knew about the baking soda and ice water, but the JAR... WOW. Great job Lea! Should have finished the deviled eggs as a bonus recipe. Keep Dutch on his heels.
Joey Hardin haha! I did think about finishing up with the deviled egg recipe, but had to hurry to get this video done before we went to Church. Thanks for watching! 😀
@@SawyerRidgeFarm Church is more important. Can do the recipe for Christmas, but a couple of days ahead. If your family s like ours, we just do snack foods that day. People are in and out all day long and deviled eggs work great for that. Keep the video's coming! Lea was great.
Coz Iii I think I tried every method in the books before I came across this one. I knew there had to be an easier way. I’m just glad I found this method and am able to share with others! 😃👍
Thank you, thank you, thank you. This is amazing! I will miss being able to feast on the rejects, the shredded eggs not fit for deviling, but will not miss having to use store-bought white eggs for holiday deviled eggs.
Thank you Alex and Leia, great video team I knew about the quick cooling and the rolearound in the jar, first time I've seen baking soda thrown in the mix, but the science mind says chemical reaction with the calcium in the shell. Great job team :) I hope your Thanksgiving went well.
Since I do not have a farm or access to farm fresh eggs I wonder if it would work the same way with store bought eggs? This is easy and quick for peeling! Thanks Alex for the tip!
I remember 'back in the day' boiling up a box of eggs (180) every morning at the restaurant I worked at. I could have used this technique big time back then! BTW -- You and your sister are pretty funny together 😊👍
