Thank you Alex and Lea. I can't believe I am almost 65 years old, and have struggled with peeling eggs to a point where I won't even do it very often. Now my husband and I will get to enjoy deviled eggs often.. God bless. Thumbs up Lea
Wow! I remember seeing my mother-law doing this 40 years ago when I started dating her son. I asked her why she put baking soda in the water and she laughed.. and answered “because my mother always did”. Not knowing the reason😂 I didn’t do it. I wish she was living today for me to show her this great video👍 she passed away last June. Occasionally, I do buy farm fresh eggs from a dear friend and they’re always hard to shell. 🙄😂 Thank you! You two sweet young ladies will help me save a lot of wasted eggs. I would lose a lot of the egg stuck onto the shell.
Let little sister say something next time! She is all smiles though... good to see sisters doing something productive and healthy together! Oh... shoot... she does talk! I guess I started commenting to early!
Just found your channel and watched the "Easiest Way To Peel Hard Boiled Eggs". Gave it a try. Worked like a charm! Not sure why baking soda made the difference but glad to learn the secret. Keep putting out helpful and practical videos!
Sisters are precious. Great video ladies, I really enjoyed watching, and loved learning a new cooking trick. Have a Blessed Week **HUGS & PRAYERS** from Kelly and the critters at Piney Haven Homestead.
What a wonderful idea I have to say! I can't tell you how many years I have tried to peel eggs with some difficutley, it never occurred to me to use your method, it would have saved my sanity.😂😂
janet cutler haha! 😂 I’m glad I could maybe help ya out a little. I was about to the point I never wanted to hard boil eggs again until I started doing it this way. I know exactly what you mean!
I remember 'back in the day' boiling up a box of eggs (180) every morning at the restaurant I worked at. I could have used this technique big time back then! BTW -- You and your sister are pretty funny together 😊👍
I knew about the baking soda and ice water, but the JAR... WOW. Great job Lea! Should have finished the deviled eggs as a bonus recipe. Keep Dutch on his heels.
Joey Hardin haha! I did think about finishing up with the deviled egg recipe, but had to hurry to get this video done before we went to Church. Thanks for watching! 😀
@@SawyerRidgeFarm Church is more important. Can do the recipe for Christmas, but a couple of days ahead. If your family s like ours, we just do snack foods that day. People are in and out all day long and deviled eggs work great for that. Keep the video's coming! Lea was great.
Very pretty eggs! I've tried both the baking soda and also vinegar...tried the jar method and didn't get your results...but that looks perfect! Hope your T.G. was wonderful!
Alex thank you for sharing this. I have shared this with my daughters. Your sister is great. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving. I enjoy your videos. God bless you and your family.
That trick is so cool! I'm gonna give that a try. Thanks. So, I paused at the point you are signing and realized how much blooper reel there is this time. Ok, deep breath. Stealing myself and ready...cue the laughter...and...go! That was fun! LOL Leah, you made it look so easy in the video. Did it take a few tries to get the back of turning the burner on? LOL "Trust me. I'm gonna mess up a few times." little bit later, "You sure you don't want to say anything?" Oh my! LOL Thank you as always for the blooper reel!!
Paulla Wells haha! The bloopers are always fun to add in there. And she actually only messed up once on the stovetop burner, she got it the 2nd go round pretty easy! Lol She was a great help, and in her defense, she was learning as you guys were learning. Lol Thanks always for watching! 👍
@@SawyerRidgeFarm - Oh, I could see she was a super help. I was just poking fun. My sense of humor 🙄. She seems like a great kid. I hope she comes along on more of your videos. I too am camera shy, but hoping I can get out of my own way and stop being so shy. If she can do it, then so can I.
Since I do not have a farm or access to farm fresh eggs I wonder if it would work the same way with store bought eggs? This is easy and quick for peeling! Thanks Alex for the tip!
Way to go!!! Just rub it in! I had a hard time this year with peeling our eggs. Was complaining to my daughter. She's explaining the same system you use. An to rub it in more she took our eggs home with her an made deviled eggs too. Man were hers better looking then mine. An your sister rocked the video! So glad to see family working together. Just kidding about you rubbing it in. An on the up side you can teach a old dog new tricks. Merry Christmas an a blessed New Year to y'all. God bless!
Aubrey Maxam that is too funny! 😂😂 I really wanted to have this video out BEFORE Thanksgiving, but it just didn’t work out. 😕 But now people will have it with plenty of time to practice before Christmas! 😄 Lea was a huge help in the kitchen, and around the house! Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you as well! 😊
Oh I have another question you keep your eggs from your hens unwashed until ready to use? and do you store them on counter or fridge? and in what do you store them in?
Thank you Alex and Leia, great video team I knew about the quick cooling and the rolearound in the jar, first time I've seen baking soda thrown in the mix, but the science mind says chemical reaction with the calcium in the shell. Great job team :) I hope your Thanksgiving went well.
This really helped me alot, I'm always the one that makes the deviled eggs, every year our family gets together at Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, always have a hard time with the peeling, not quite every time, cause some of them do pretty good, so now I will try this method, thank you so much girls!! :)
Awesome! I knew and always have used the ice bath, thank you for telling us about the baking soda and the Mason jar tick...I lost a couple my way .But never again..I use a simple filler receipe..Mayo ,white sugar, salt , pepper , powdered yellow mustard and a lil sweet pickle juice and top with paprika...My fam used to use vinegar or relish yuck.
