Having been raised in Key West in the 50’s~60’s at 5 years old I was all over Key West, with my found fishing line and hooks I would buy 2 or 3 cents (coke bottle returns was 2 cents) worth of shrimp (the fellow running the bait store probably gave me more than I paid for) or would catch minnows in a glass jar with bread as bait. My favorite fish was the barracuda but mostly caught pinfish. Have enjoyed this series.🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸
That’s awesome…my dad grew up in Miami and he tells me stories like this all the time.
Other ways are to dig up worms from seaweed beds on low tide. And leave some mince or a steak out to get flyblown and collect the maggots

Great vid again! I agree about finding your own way in new areas, rather than collecting hot spots from other anglers. Really nice mutton! There is an appropriate time and place for kayaks. Sure you can push the boundaries. However, the sharks and open water where conditions can change too quickly. A small boat is just as rewarding. I’ve been kayak fishing since 1995 and mostly keep it in shore which is loads of fun.

thats a serious Mutton lol. Great job man , I tell ya , nothing beats that Old Town. Even off shore , with the right battery , and not cranking it to max speed at every use. You can get like 30 miles with it and still have some left. Great vid man.
You got that right! It’s a dream for that area. The surf and easy access are limiting on it but it’s fun around there.
@@EliasVFishing yeah definitely not for beach launching. Me and my wife never beach launch , just around Oregon Inlet sound side. Sound fishing and we trailer them around on a Triton Trailer , much easier to get on and off for us. I got some kayaks that I could take to the beach but eh....lol. Shes got a 15.6 Jackson Kraken she loves. However she enjoys the space she has on the Hobie PA 360 we got her last year.

when you drive by going north or south you should hit guana reserve by jacksonville, it has some of the best trout fishing around
