Swapping is more likely if someone only has this one quad. I wouldn’t swap either, a good many have more than a few quads to fly ready to go in many situations 😁
They look great, may warrant finally getting a 2.4g elrs module haha. Looks like a great candidate for my next assassin bug build. (First was nanohawk with ducts removed, not as light as the one, shutterbug did😅) Great job as always!
I love this stuff thanks for posting. So it sounds like the mobula7 is your fave 1s indoors. Do you think HM will make a Mobeetle 7. I like the concept of indoors for winter and backyard flyer in the summer.
No magic, just practice and I give myself time to get used to each quad on the channel. A few flights isn't enough for me, I like to get 40+ flights before review. I am a slow adjuster and creator. :)
Love your channel and content, Nick. You’re a FPV hero to anyone who likes smaller quads. Happymodel’s original Diamond F4 board was nice indoors but the SPI receiver range, and VTX range was underwhelming. A 400mW VTX and ELRS should address those shortcomings.
spi has plagued us for a good long while, just a weak protocol and with weight being such a big issue one we had to put up with, but now with expresslrs range is so so much better. And now the a 400mw vtx on this board we can even get our fpv further out or behind more large obstacles.
I tried the buy the parts to build moblite 7 but with elrs & 400mw FC in it. To find out its on back order for over a month ugh I should buy mobettle for now
Well i hope that there will bei a hdzero variant of these whoops. Thats the last puzzle piece needed to complete hd fpv ;) But this vtx is doing a great job for the compact layout of the board!
My biggest concern is that back in the early days of toothpicks - when we were just putting whoop guts on CF or 3D printed frames, those 1mm prop shafts would bend and break pretty readily.Your crashes were impressive but I’ll be anxious to see how they pan out in the long-term for everyone else…
Love it as an ultralight whoop though. I’ve loved 0802 20-22kkv for my 65mm whoops for a couple years now. Curious how if I’d really novice the reduced power of the 0702s
Yes, the one I think of was the tiny90 or something like that. The props were stronger than the motor shafts. I suspect at some point in time they changed the metal used, in the last two years I have only broken 1mm shafts when I am trying to straighten one out. Still haven't figured out that technique.
Im loving the open source integration into ready to fly quads, recently got an ovx300 and it's amazing, would love to win one of these otherwise might just pick one up!
Fantastic flying and review, Nick!!! 😃 I wander if the FC could handle the Mobula7! It would be a pretty sweet build! Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Personally, I'd rather take one of my existing whoops and convert it to the Fractal Engineering frame! It allows you to simply take off the ducts and make it into an outdoor flyer. No full swap over! And the Fractal frame is all carbon fiber, so I get to eliminate those crap plastic whoop frames, which are so flimsy, cheap and fragile. I too absolutely hate those battery cages! 😎🤘 People are asking you if it's too fast because that's what Albert Kim said about it, but he has a very small space to fly in. Makes a big difference the space you have. A tiny space makes you go through that space in almost no time and have no room to go fast and manuver very easily. The only thing special about this new whoop is the new board with ELRS built in @ 400mw. That's killer, cuz as we all know way to well, 25mw barely cuts it. 400mw in a small space like a house or backyard will give us pretty much crystal clear video! Much better range too. Nice video, Nick! Thanks for showing us this new stuff. LIKED, of course. 👍
Looks great nick, I'll be picking one up as soon as I can! Nice flying btw - you're getting FAST! How does it compare to the uz80 in the toothpick config - is it just underpowered?
I’m a total newbie to fpv, I have a couple DJI camera drones, but there’s no comparison as far as the fun factor goes. Thanks for all the work you do I for one appreciate the video’s
I'm really looking forward to this whoop. The price is a little rough though, especially with the yen being so low at the moment, it's almost twice the price I paid for my mobula6! By the way, in whoop mode you can mount the camera horizontally behind the camera, and the pigtail should reach even the batteries without pigtails.
Nick how do you find those GNB 1S 350s? I bought a set of them last year and I hardly flew them, they were so poor. 30s less flight time than the happymodel sticks and heavier to boot. Also one of them puffed on me even though I keep them at storage voltage.
I have had about half puff. The 300mah with led got little more than a hover test. I have made some changes so I can run the newbeedrone nitro golds to test. I do hear the 0702 motors prefer a lighter battery
It’s unfortunate that seems to be part of this hobby. I had a bad run on HM AIO dying as well. Bought 5 and 3 burned up before first flight. Thankfully that has been my only bad run
Nice seems will be too fast for me. I store my mobulas in small transparent box as well makes transportation easier. The mobula 6 has been upgraded to 400 mw vtx as well.
Hi Nick how does the Naked version compare to the Flywoo Firefly Nano FR in performance. I know these won't be as good as the Starlord 1S builds. BTW I'm gunning for the Naked version 😊

Резвая штучка. Купил как второй после Mobula6 19000KV, если сравнивать то Mobula6 очень инертная и вялая. Этот позволяет делать новые маневры где нужна мощь двигателя. Hard to gauge the volume. Can you hear those little things zipping around between flats in a multi-storey house? German house, no cardboard.
Yes you can hear it. But its okay. If you want something siltent, dont use ducts. Build your own 2 inch 1S toothpick with four blade props. Grüße
