I bought one yesterday for only 371 Euros here in the Netherlands and the HDR is much better than all these RUclipsrs are telling you.What they all are NOT telling you is that @ 180 HZ HDR is NOT available bud thats oke with me.BUD @ 165 HZ in HDR you get a mindblowing video and picture quality with beautiful colors,sharpness and contrast.

@@Ringkie En HDR? is het wat? of een overbodige functie? en hoe zet je die functie uit of aan? gewoon in het menu van het scherm? En bij bol is hij te koop voor €526 met usb hub. Zonder hub 200 euro goedkoper. Welke raad jij aan?

I’ve upgraded to a better GPU made for 1440p months ago and finally ordered this monitor today and ill be leaving an old BenQ MOBIUZ EX2510 so hope fully this monitor will feel a little better and use more of my GPU power because i like to use Gsync alot

@@name809 the monitor? Great, i paid like $420 USD and couldn’t be happier, 1440p at 180Hz is like the sweet spot for my 2080Ti and whenever i can get ahold of the 3080Ti it’ll be even better but yea, this monitor is worth it i don’t want to go back to any other monitor

I have that same chair, love it! 3 years later it's as good as new.
I got one model below this (750) which is essentially the same but has a regular IPS panel instead of the nano IPS.
It's nearly a perfect all arounder. The IPS glow sometimes makes me want to get a VA instead but VA black smearing is just too much of a headache to deal with.
Happiness is when you've just finished a PC Centric Gaming Laptop video and then there's a new one.
And Marcus you've been the best creator to show me the realism about pc gaming.
I've heard it said that the oversaturation on these wide gamut monitors is quite distracting. When watching movies does it look like people have sunburnt faces?
Does it bother you and if so did you find a solution?

so apparently the HDR isnt great, which i can sorta agree on, but in the few games ive tried it i mostly struggle to set it up correctly cause whenever i try it can sometimes mess up the image completely

so in your opinion, you did a review for the gl850 2 years ago, are both very similar or is this one (gp850) better for the $100 dollar price difference?
I'm really missing the menu showcase of these monitor reviews. I know menus are not the base reason for purchasing a specifc monitor, but to have one that can be easily and fastly set up or change the options in it, is great. Esepcially for me since I'm hestitating between the GL850 and this GP850. In fact their menus are almost the same but GP850 is looking slighty better and also futuristic. For a guy like me who is using a BenQ GW2255 for like 8 years now, which has terrible menu, terrible button options is a really important point to look at. Just a little suggestion for future videos, perhaps :3
The Lg xx GP850-B series is the best in quality, durability , it also has less tendency to monitor failure.

I bought one new for 283 euros last month. Love the colors vibrant. Only downside is contrast when playing dark games.

Thanks for this review, I bought the monitor after I saw this one and you were correct and spot on with this review, but I don't share your opinion on the HDR, HDR is really good on this one compared to my HDR 600 monitor from Samsung and it is strange acording to the specifikations on that monitor is says it have a nits about 600, but this one is even brighter. I really love this monitor and im very picky when it comes to image quality. I thought it would be hard to beat my old HDR 600 monitor with individual backlights, but hell this was much brighter and looked far better than I expected. The colors are truly amazing but like all IPS panels, there is this IPS glow, but it is worth it. I can really recommend this monitor, and I got it for about $370 on Black Friday.
I was lucky with my panel, no bleeds and no dead pixels, just the IPS glow but that is all IPS monitors.
After testing the monitor more after overclocked the monitor to 180 Hz the colors with HDR became washed out and boring this might be what some people referring to when they saying that HDR is bad on this monitor. So im using 165 hz instead for a better image quality. Still very happy with the monitor and my gaming performance have greatly improved.

im trying to find a nice monitor for stream gaming and digital art. The gpu I got is a 6700 xt oc 12Gb and cpu I plan is ryzen9 5900. Also planning on getting a second monitor but first I really want one curved. what monitor do you suggest me to get, I cant find a 2.1 hdmi one and maybe i find luck asking here

I just bought the LG 34GP83A, and it's amazing for a 34inch ultrawide
Just got one on massive discount. Seems very good so far. Not going to lie though, I had to very much tone down the default colour settings because it was making my face bleed and eyes burn. Playing RDR2 is a delight, as the screen is so big you really soak up the vibes. Thanks for the review.

Heeey, probably won't get a response but, have you tried or have any idea about LG gn800p, there is like 100 euros difference between gn800 and gp850, do you think it's worth to get 850 ?

Honestly I'm happy that LG *at least* responded to this in the most sensible manner they could have. I've seen other companies dig their own graves in terms of image towards their customers with this. My guess is the PR agency wanted to prevent things such as comparisons to the previous 27GL850 and such - as the price hike of this new model compared to current market prices of the previous one wouldn't be worth it for a large majority of potential customers. Now that prices have come down a bit and both models are almost equally priced where I live it's a no-brainer of course. But it sounded ''off'' to me as LG has actually been the company that, at least in TV-land (different branche of same company), is actively listening to what gamers want :p

Hi man I just bought this and pretty happy with the overall performance but i am using it mostly for photo editing and casual gaming so, currently i am struggling a lot with the colors and settings that which settings to keep for good result for my photo editing. How is the IPS glow on your unit? I'm returning it because the IPS glow on mine is horrible on the left side and not only in black scenes. Even cycling throughout colors when testing/looking for dead pixels, the left side is more brighter! Really disappointed.

I have the 27GP83B-B version, which is "basically" this monitor, I definitely prefer HDR off as the monitor just seems way more vibrant with it off, kind of seems like the opposite of what it should be with HDR but hey, I'm definitely happy with it coming from a TN panel, completely night and day difference.
I agree about HDR . It's kinda yellow-ish when turned on and when I compare it to my old va is a massive difference in color display and change from curve monitor to flat is taking me a bit more time to adjust my eyes .😂

I can't seem to find an answer for a question I have about this monitor: Does it support G sync Ultimate or Freesync Premium Pro? I want to run HDR at high refresh rate
Is anyone have issue with this monitor’s directional toggle not functioning sometimes? I’ve bought two lg 27gp850 (one from Amazon and one from micro center) both having the same issue; when I click on the directional toggle, the menu wouldn’t coming up. I can’t even turn off the monitor via pressing and holding the toggle for a few second. The only way I was able to get directional toggle functioning again was completely unplugging and plugging the monitors

Good Evening sir, I have recently purchased a 27GP850 for my Xbox series x. I noticed that the USB ports in the back of the monitor do not work. I wanted to run a sound bar off it, however, it did not work. No power so no output. Have you noticed the same, if so, is there a solution?

I tried multiple settings and 2 icc profiles (rtings and factory), but everyone is still looking sunburned on my screen. Do you know how I can fix this issue?
I have bought external speaker and connected them in 3.5mm audio jack of monitor. But only 1 speaker is working and sound is very low. Then I have connected headset in monitor and found that sound is pretty low (but left and right both were working). Should we connect speakers in Desktop/laptop or is there any problem with the monitor. Should I ask for monitor replacement or audio jack of monitor provides low sound only because data transfer is on HDMI.. Please suggest. Thank you..
im using black frame insertion and hdr on my hdtv and i like it cause its dimmer and better on my eyes .. so maybe hdr here will be enough for me ? ussually i go below 30% brightness
Hi, I also have this monitor. There is a question bothers me for long time. When I set "adaptive-sync" as basic, "overlock" option works fine but "motion blur reduction" option grayed out. But if I turn off G-sync in nvidia control panel, then "adaptive-sync" option will gray out and "motion blur reduction" works fine, but "overlock" option also gray out!!! I am really confused. BTW, I use display port rather than hdmi. I really appreciate if you know the reason!!!
I believe it’s because MBR locks the frame rate, meaning you can’t use adaptive-sync at the same time.

3:09 Logitech G Hub always pops out of place on my desktop, too.
Have the LG 27" 850. Running it with a laptop. Have done 3 rounds of picture adjustments (calibration) getting a good picture even on a few years old nonn expencive laptop. Only thing i'm not happy with is colour red, that is to hot for rec. 709.
Can only imagen for now... What you get with a pc with a propper graphic card 🙂
Unfortunately that's just the case with these wide gamut monitors. Companies are oblivious to the fact that monitors should include proper color settings. (" sRGB mode" is not good). It's unacceptable for such an expensive monitor. Same issue on my lg 32gk850f.
Your solution would be getting the LG 27gl83 , which has a normal gamut, and similar response as yours.
How this compare to X 27? You have had both?

Bought this display today for 260€ (Germany). It is still the recent version, right? But then again, with these specs and my setup (GeForce 4060), I doubt that there would be any significant improvements anyways

I just picked it and i love it, only downside is the contrast, HDR 400 which is fake HDR and completly useless without any dimming zone's

How does this compare to the MSI mag274qrf-qd?
I'm hoping to get a decent panel in terms of backlight bleed ( I can live with IPS glow to a large extent) and I know I'm getting bare-minimum level contrast. But to be fair... the difference between 759-850:1 contrast and 1100:1 contrast (typical IPS) isn't nearly as drastic as going from your typical IPS to a random VA panel for instance so I should be fine. Technically it's horrible scoring, but in practise I doubt most people would spot the difference between two calibrated monitors with those contrast levels unless in a pitch black room or something.
So how did it go?
Uh, no, you don't know what you're talking about. Unless you are blind, there is a big difference between 1:800 nad 1:1000. Get two of those monitors and see it for yourself. There are much more monitors now (in 2023) of the same speed or even higher then LG and contrast ration above 1:1200. The LG is not even good.
