I was fortunate enough to have the privilege of working with Chef Eric Ripert for several years.
He is much more than a chef or mentor.
    This is a lifestyle.
He taught me way more about life than food.

This is a man who is at peace with himself and knows what is important in life. Yes, he is the chef of a world-famous restaurant, but he sees the world as a whole and does his part to make this world better.

Ditto a grocery store I worked for ... their reasoning was that if someone got sick from the food, they would get sued. That's also the reason why when rotisserie chickens, food on the hot bar, etc., hit the 4 hr mark, they all go in the trash. Fear of lawsuits, the definition of America.

@@susannpatton2893 Nope, lots of non-profits had ideas like that, but lawsuits win over everything, and corps like Kroger, Walmart etc aren’t going to take the chance - esp since they can just write off the loss when food expires. Money for the shareholders and exec bonuses win. Period.

I ate at Le Bernardin in 1998, and it was spectacular, but after visiting so many places in the world, It is not a three Michelin star it's a two Michelin star. He gets everything from the markets around him, and he gets the star from the french critics but there a many places that cultivate their ingredients in their gardens and have one or not Michelin stars, so, to me it's biased. Besides, French people are very biased against others. I also love how this reporter uses her charming, almost English accent to divert us from reality. Sound English doesn't make you smarter Martha Teichner.

If it's really good people that don't get much chance to try things should be there too. Where i was working though all there was is strong beer that would exhaust a diaper
